Seriously, why don’t they do page numbers in the footers? At least they do those frames that list the creators before each issue. That’s better than some omnis that have no page numbering and don’t frame which creators you’re getting in each issue. Anyway, looking forward to this one!
This omnibus looks really nice! I have 6 Star Wars omnibuses, so far... thanks to you Omar! Any Star Wars news is very helpful to me, or else I would not have known about these books. Your overviews are the best, Omar! Thanks again!!!!
@@ml6158 Yes, that's how I got started. I purchased the three Star Wars The Original Marvel Years omnibuses from Amazon a long, long time ago - at a deep discount.
When I saw the thumbnail used in the livestream the other day I ordered this, DD yellow gallery and Demon Wars treasury. Should be arriving this week 🤯
Not to be the Corrector again, but I think the "Legends" banner is for any old EU comics, not just the Dark Horse era. Without having my Original Marvel Years Omnis in front of me at the moment, I'm pretty sure they also say "Legends" on the front.
I didn’t realise the droids comics were included! That’s a lovely bonus. The droids comics (specifically the one with c3px) were the first Star Wars comics I read in the 90s.
I have almost all of the Star Wars Legends in Epic format, except for The Old Republic, Original Marvel Years, & Legacy. 📚 I'm still waiting for Marvel to make some SW OMY & SW Legacy omnis! 😂
I remember watching your review for Vol 1 and ending up buying and loving it, so I'm really looking forward to this book! Great review and can't wait to read this one.
I read these issues digitally a few months ago because I couldn't wait for the physical book (it kept getting delayed). These are some of my favorite star wars comics, LOVE the dark horse era!!
Im not too interested in the Droids stuff, so I'm gonna be sticking with Omnibus vol.1 Epic Collection Vol.3 & a standalone hardcover of Cry of Shadows. Technically double-dipped on the Ghost Prison mini, but its my favourite miniseries so I dont really mind
I'm sort of torn when it comes to mapping books, I understand a lot of people want the stories in chronological order but I think what's wrong with flashbacks? Imagine if movie studios said all scenes had to be within chronological order, no flashbacks. Well, that'd probably ruin quite a few movies.
Hey there! sorry to go absolutely off-topic, but I have a question about the "Fate of the Phoenix" Epic (just came to mind when you said "double-dip"). I have the "Dark Phoenix Saga" and "Days of Future Past" paperbacks from a few years back, that covers all the issues in that Epic Collection, so I was wondering if there is some improvement in the art that justifies buying it (yeah yeah I'm looking for an excuse, I know). Thanks!
If they will insist on doing different spine art for the editions, they should really also show what you will get with the different versions. I keep on not preordering, mostly because I really choose versions based on the spines...
I really wish they'd stop blocking the cover with that ugly black frame. Not a fan of the mapping since 'timeline order' often casually spoils things published earlier, and there's a huge time gap between Cry and Shadows and the rest - it's really a different era. Kinda surprised they put the Visionaries stuff in here since that was always out-of-continuity/what if stuff too. I think a better way to do these omnis would have been a Dark Times vol. 1/2 and then a separate Empire omni for the later-set and earlier-written stuff.
I think the reason they combo certain things together is a lack of confidence in what will sell on its own, as some series that make up the majority of an Epic Collection have struggled a bit (e.g. Rogue Squadron in New Republic 2 & 3) Though yeah, the inclusion of out-of-continuity shorts from Visionaries and Tales all over their mappings annoys me too
@@jrcbroolz That's probably the reason. I can't imagine too many people going after a droids only focused omnibus. I do wish the Dark Time storyline was all collected in one book though.
NB on Star Wars Tales and Visionaries since they were mentioned leading up to ep4: these are generally non-canon stories! I really am not a fan of the way Marvel is splitting them up and using them to pad out their EC's/Omnis with no differentiation or warning on material you're supposed to take seriously and which you shouldn't. Dont take this as me hating those either, btw, like, I love Tales, picked up all the tpb's, and its a great mix of writers going wild eithout restriction; slapstick comedy, drama, tragedy, those shorts have it all. But broadly speaking, most were never intended to be taken as canonical: theres a few exceptions like a KotOR tie-in, but things like 'Skippy the Jedi Droid' and 'Hate Leads to Lollipops' are definitively not. Ivm kinda sad that the way Tales is being utilised in bits and pieces also means we'll probably never get an omni for them on their own (could easily group with Infinities)
Cmon hurry up and announce some good X-men stuff. Lol messiah trilogy omni maybe? Maybe a reprint of fatal attractions. Something I actually want to read...Or GHOST RIDER and not that stupid half a omnibus Aaron run either. Since they obviously wont do that right, maybe just do the 1990s ghost rider danny ketch. Why they put out ghost rider 2099 is beyond me...who's chomping at the bit for that series....or what about a kyle and yost x-force/necrosha omnibus, that would be awesome. They just keep pumping out these series I have zero intrest in.
This is my Star Wars
Great video thankyou. I wish Marvel would do a reprint of Star Wars Legends: The Old Republic Omnibus Vol. 1.
Gonna be my top vote on the next omnibus reprint poll
Yeah I honestly would love a reprint of that as I missed it the first time.
Agree 100% it was my top vote last year and will be again this year!
One of my favorite legends omnis hopefully they do a reprint and a vol 2.
Also hoping for a reprint. Def one of my big misses. I kept putting off getting it.
I have vol 1 but forgot to finish reading it. Every time I buy an omni...Omar uploads a vid to buy another...and another..and another!
I might be the only one getting the Droids variant cover. I love it!
Nope! I will be too
Part of me wants this but I really only want it for the Dark Times final two arcs. Might just get the epic collection that covers those instead.
Seriously, why don’t they do page numbers in the footers? At least they do those frames that list the creators before each issue. That’s better than some omnis that have no page numbering and don’t frame which creators you’re getting in each issue. Anyway, looking forward to this one!

Do you have the original marvel years?

I loved Volume 1, hopefully Volume 2 is just as good! Thanks for the overview! :)
Thank you for the video!
Vol 1 was probably my favorite star wars omni. Second favorite is old republic omnibus.
I need to start collecting these legends omni’s
I didn’t realise the droids comics were included! That’s a lovely bonus. The droids comics (specifically the one with c3px) were the first Star Wars comics I read in the 90s.
This is how the dark horse omnibuses were mapped as well , in order of time line &, not of wen the singles were released
Darth Vader looks so good in these comics.
looking forward to reading this :)
Got this pre-ordered, can't wait
Can’t wait to get this 😀
I have almost all of the Star Wars Legends in Epic format, except for The Old Republic, Original Marvel Years, & Legacy. 📚

Already preordered, like all the sw legend omnibus announced. I wish they will release legacy in 2024 and the old republic vol2

Strange that they would illustrate that there are page numbers but then don't print page numbers. Going to get it anyway
I find the lack of page numbers displeasing
Im not too interested in the Droids stuff, so I'm gonna be sticking with Omnibus vol.1 Epic Collection Vol.3 & a standalone hardcover of Cry of Shadows. Technically double-dipped on the Ghost Prison mini, but its my favourite miniseries so I dont really mind
I only have epic collection vol2,3 and 7

🤞🏻 It's as good as Vol 1
How did you pronounce Asoka at 8:10.....lol 😂 always with the extra.
The way a Latino would. :) I mean no one In America I’ve met can pronounce Omar properly.

Not really. Those HCs used the latest scans. So you are good with those.

Regarding Star Wars, I'll go the Epic format 👍

Legends is the only StarWars worth collecting.
