Spidey fans have definitely been eating good this year! I was so happy to finish Ultimate in oversized format this year and the Zdarsky omnibus was one of my favorite reads of the year. I really want the Brand New Day Omni but I’m hoping for a good sale at some point 🤞
The ultimate run in omnibus is amazing to finally have! I used to have the paperbacks once upon a time. The Zdarsky omnibus was a BLAST! Cool video. It puts into perspective just how good Spidey fans have had with omnibuses this year. I bought all of these except for the 2099 vol 2. I’m really looking forward to the DeMatteis omni next year. That has been a dream book for me for a long time!
@@chapman35 oh yeah! An incredible last year or two for Spidey fans. That DeMatteis book does look just incredible. I’d love to get that as well as budget allows
There were SO MANY Spider-Man Omnis this year. I fell behind on my collection. I need the Bagley Vol 1, Black Costume saga and Ultimate vol 4 to keep up with the complete collection. I have the entire Ultimate collection digitally but I'll have to circle back and get that #4 on the shelf. $$$$$$$ My personal favorite Spider-Man story was the Maximum Carnage run. That was one of the first collections that I had read and really got me into comics.
@@KortHaws it was honestly a bit overwhelming 😂 this was a huge chunk of my collecting efforts this year, but I’m thankful Marvel churned out the books-I was really able to fill some gaps in my collection. 🕷️ I really enjoyed that Michelinie/Bagley omnibus! I had the chance to read some of the issues it collected for the first time, so much fun. Maximum Carnage is a great event! What a fun symbiote story 📚
@@TheComicBookReport yeah I have read everything in that Bagley Omni and have it all digitally, but the collector in me still wants to fill those shelves. I love that era of Spider-Man. The whole Michelinie era with all the amazing artists he got to work with. Was there anyone more spoiled with talented artists than Michelinie?
@@KortHaws I’ve been thinking about that very thing a lot this year with that Bagley Omnibus dropping and the reprint of the Larsen stuff. It’s honestly wild how much talent Michelinie had with him on art. 😱🕷️ Who is your favorite collaborator he had with him on art?
@@TheComicBookReport For the big 3 that he got to work with I would go McFarlane, Bagley, then Larsen. McFarlane just set the new standard for Spider-Man at the time. Larsen did a great job taking over and keeping pretty faithful to that style, which seems to be what Larsen did many times throughout his career is take over for McFarlane. Bagley did the art on a lot of my favorite stories, so it's very memorable for me. Plus he rocked that Ultimate Spider-Man run for so long, so good.
If you add the 2 Venom omnis from last year, you would've have gone with an extra, extra wide overview. It's crazy what Marvel has given us from 2023 to 2024.
What an excellent video and original idea! Really hard to do when there are so many TH-cam comic channels out there, so kudos to you. Hope that made sense!) We all know how much you love Ol' Hornhead!😉
It's a shame that Marvel couldn't fully proofread through the pages before printing all the Black Costume Sagas with a misprint. A missing page is a pretty big deal for readers and they did the same thing with ASM Spencer Vol. 2. A free PDF of the page is disrespectful and a slap in the face.
@@greendaleforever I think this is certainly an understandable perspective to at a lot of collectors agree with. While I would have preferred an error-free copy, I was still very happy to have the book in my collection, or books in the case of ASM Spencer 2. I can appreciate the frustration however
