I just wanted to point out that Sylvain not changing that much may be by design. Out of the four childhood friends in Blue Lions, Sylvain was always the steadiest. He was aware of the route his life would take, and-- although he definitely didn't _like_ it-- he accepted it. He doesn't _change_ physically because he doesn't really _change_ mentally. He remains the rock that all his friends can rely on. As bizarre as it is to say, he's the mature friend in this situation. It just kinda... makes sense for him not to change.

As much as I agree with this from a character standpoint, I wish they'd gotten more creative with his hair. His colour scheme and design are very pleasing, I don't think it'd be hard to change things up and have him still look good.
His loss of flamboyantness may also have to do with his maturity, since in the timeslips he tries to cut out his stupid antics.
He may be steady in character, but he's got to be the biggest slot machine in level ups of all of Three Houses. Seems to outright defy his statistical growth rates. He's always either irredeemably bad or amazingly stacked from one playthrough to another. Never just reliable. Safest bet is to have him go magic route in Maddening, since finding low Res targets is always going to be viable enough even with just class bases, class boosts, and Battalion boosts to Mag.
So, what I'm saying is it's hard to internalize him as solid while playing the game, thus the design choice never sticks.
@@Shalakor I need to finish my BL route in 3Houses (Not sure when that'll be, since after my SB playthrough of hopes I want to tackle Xenoblade 3 which will be 300 hours before anything else...), but I specced Sylvain into Dark Bishop for my NG+ BL route, and I haven't regretted it one bit.
Finally, someone completely unbiased when reviewing 3 Hopes drip, such a neutral position that is reflected even in your timestamps.
You wont find a more fair set of opinions on this site
The lack of full beards among playable units in this series is such a shame.

@@RedsHitpostMedia I get that facial hair is a bit of a thing in Japan but the games are based on Europe and it would definitely be appropriate for time skip students. Majority of the facial hair that is in the series is on villains which sucks. Just saying it would be nice.

Edit: Just wanted to say that im only at the beginning of the game but Petra has already been given more personality this time arounf in that she is actually thinking about her future as Queen and is fighting with Edelgard in order to secure independence for her state once the Empire takes over Fodlan. Also she's plotting revenge on Caspers father for killing her father. And finally her accent actually makes sense here because, unlike with 3 houses post time skip Petra, its only been two years, two years she spent back home in Brigid, so yeah, her language didnt have 5 years to improve.
Oh shoot that is fire, glad to see Petra actually got something to work with this time around especially when she looks as good as she does in this game, would be a waste to have her not be interesting

Linhardt was a weird line for me because his academy design is pretty cute and boyish like he doesn't really care to do much other than take care of himself and all that sleep does wonders for him. Then his timeskip design is like, who did you kill for all that chin my man? Loses the cuteness, is just a dude I would expect to lecture me over a slight misspeak. Three hopes does the fusion dance thing, integrating aspects of the timeskip design while still keeping him looking cute and boyish.
And here I am with my monkey brain being like "yea i like how he tied his hair in the Three Hopes version"

Fire Emblem: Three Hopes somehow brought back my giddy 2019 hype tenfold just by redesigning all the lovable old characters and showing them off in these awesome little trailers each week building up to the release, P.S. Dimitri and Marianne are the best I will not argue

I love the Black Eagles route so far for Fluffbert because he's like, a better and bolder person. Is he as creepily cool as the last one? No. But he's literally the best friend you could ask for

Those three are in Hungarian! (Jó means good, csodálatos means amazing/wonderful and tökéletes means perfect.) And trust me, you don't want to start learning Hungarian, it's hard for even those who have it as their mother tongue (AKA me lol)

I love the design of Hapi and Constance in Three hopes more than their time skips.
While I love Constance no matter what, she is what I consider perfection and I find all her versions perfect (those academy uniforms for ashen wolves outshine everything and make me wish the other houses got the same care). I find the hairband in her timeskip useless and wish it was used for to style her hair instead of just an accessory, i feel that would have made her look better. (She's still perfect though)
Hapi is complicated. I think it's the problem of again uniform is so good that everything else felt like a downgrade. I think I dislike her hair in the timeskip and her three hopes hair just felt like the natural progression. I actually like her timeskip a bit more now that I have the three hopes design as an in-between. But her three hopes hair is amazing. Not sure if that makes sense.

As a massive Marianne simp, I agree with everything you said about her design. No biases though. It's a fact that she's the best character and has the best design and it's not even close.
Though I'm gonna have to hard disagree with Ashen Wolves, especially Constance. Her timeskip design is her weakest one imo. She just doesn't look good with the longest hair and the portrait does NOT do her justice. Short hair all day, the Three Hopes design easily the best. They gave her a design that makes me go "step on me mommy."

I didn't touch the blacksmith stuff for the entirety of the game right until literally the last two hours, where I used all my money to upgrade Marianes brave lance (yes I made her a holly knight) to basically max stats and went to to kill Cyril in like a single hit.

Petra'z character trait is her shaky relationship with the empire. Mainly Caspar, his dad, and constance. The way she bonds with characters who she should have ill will towards shows her maturity.

I think this video more than any other analysis or trailer has gotten me hyped for Three Hopes. I'm totally with you on giving Annette the spotlight she deserves, nay, demands! (even if objectively, inarguably, and probably canonically, Marianne takes the cake)
I recently introduced my friend to Three Houses. He was well on his way to siding with the Golden Deer for his first route... Until he met Lorenz. We are currently burning down the countryside in the name of the Adrestian Empire. Lorenz has that certain effect on people.
