- I've eaten a lot of questionable military rations over the years. This vintage brown bag meal ready to eat is the only one that ever made me sick though. 1994 MRE Menu 10, Tuna with Noodles, looks pretty gross and doesn't taste much better especially when it's almost 30 years old. Maybe this meal kit would have been better fresh but I doubt it was ever tasty.

A MRE like this made me sick in the late 90s. Eating a fish version 2024 is pure insanity! You are lucky you aren't dead.
Once on my ship fresh tuna and noodles knocked a bunch of guys down with food poisoning
About 20 years ago these were basically given away at surplus stores and there is a reason they were lousy then hot sauce really goes a long way
In Japan I only remember freeze dried fruit, gum, salt and maybe a few more but never a heating baggie EVER and they all made me sick

I liked the tuna with noodles and the omelette with ham! Also liked the older chicken ala king.

94 that might be an expiration date early 90s its hit or miss as it was late 90s/early 00 that expiration dates became standard on packaging

Cool rewind. If you had to try and pinpoint, what item would you think made you sick? My initial thought was the main. But you boiled that so I'm almost wondering if it was the poundcake or maybe even the jelly? Awesome RR!
Jelly shouldn't with all the sugar in it. Considering the cake made his mouth numb I'm going with that and probably the tuna and noodles, best not to mess with fish that smells funky and tastes bitter.
Yeah 30yrs ago I was getting out of service and that meal sucked then. Along with Chicken al yack.. and the Vomelette..
Back in the day tuna and noodles was an MRE that you got stuck with never very popular in my platoon.
This was one of my fav back in the day. Add the cheese and tabasico for a spicy cheesy tuna noodle casserole.

Man I hated tuna and noodles back in the day. I’m not surprised that it would make you sick.
I don't make a habit of eating either tuna or chicken MREs. Both have made me sick before first inspection.
