- I can't believe this MRE was around for such a short time! Meal Ready to Eat Menu 17, Beef Teriyaki, is about as close as you can get to Japanese food with a US Military Field Ration. Surprisingly, the Teriyaki main was very tasty, featuring a rich umami flavor with a good balance of sour and sweet. I just wish this meal kit had rice! I wonder if it was replaced because it was too expensive to produce because I'd have to imagine it was popular with the troops.

Can anybody explain why no US MRE has ever come with a decent pack of tissues/TP?

Hey, for any package of original Skittles that's older than 2013, you should make sure to savor the lime Skittles (green). That flavor was replaced by green apple in 2013. It's something to remember and note for your audiences in future videos. You cannot get lime Skittles in the US any more, and they were my favorite/2nd favorite, along with grape.
This cherry drink to me taste exactly like cherry Tylenol.
"Lor-na Doon" in pronunciation. A classic old cookie, been out for many years.

As far as I know they are amongst the most widespread shortbread cookies in the USA. I've been to all over the country. Found them everywhere I've visited

I'm pretty sure those were just plain white tipped matched that inherited a Tabasco color. This menu is very similar to Menu 22 Asian beef strips with vegetables which has been replaced with beef goulash in 2020. I guess Asian beef is just not popular among the US troops.
Imagine having to use toilet paper that tobasco leaked on YOUCH
That was the crappiest MRE in my opinion cause that was when I served from 2001 to 2005 so yes I have had this meal

2012 to 2018 menu 22 Asian beef strips is about the same. The first few years came with fried rice
