I read the disclosures. I estimated about $200,000 to fully restore, but would be beautiful after. There are some cracks in the walls so certainly have the foundation surveyed. Also the septic may need replaced since it hasn’t been cared for in over 20 years. Given all that, if I were younger I would still consider it.
@@lifestyleproperties You're quite welcome. I see maybe period wall paper and antiques. The kitchen would be a a fun redo. Maybe a granny flat in the barn area or a studio. The entryway is unusual and that wood paneling doesn't do it justice what with that beautiful staircase. What a beautiful home. Born in Maine, I can recall visiting my grandma in Lincolnville with a home similar in beauty! Early in the morning a man would come by in a truck selling home made donuts & my grandma would go out to meet him; just to please her grandchildren!❤
It will need a lot of updating and some major renovation projects done too. But the natural beauty that is hidden could be easily brought back to its original grandeur! A pearl that is just waiting to be extracted!

If I ever die this is the type of house I’d want to haunt lol but seriously this is magnificent. It’s got so much historical value and can be so nicely restored since a lot of the original features are still there. It seems like a nice serene area to live in too.
Oh my gosh, I absolutely love it - and it really looking at it, renovation costs won't be that high. True, you might spend about the same as it costs to purchase, but by the time all is said & done, it would truly be worth so much more ! Finding a job in the area for hubby isn't easy, sadly. I've looked. You have so many properties that are what we're looking for (I just feel pulled to Maine) but the job situation is a deal breaker =(
I live in Maine and would never want to be anywhere else but….. the job situation is tough… you either have to come to this state with money, or be willing to work for low wages.. and be satisfied with that..it’s quite safe and beautiful and the seasons are delightful….but Maine is not going to offer top dollar in the income Dept…still, it’s so worth it, to be here..🙂
When she says "This house has everything." I was wondering from the beginning if the house is possibly haunted..... Do the Kelley's still inhabit the house? It's a beautiful house and if I had that kind of money, I would love to live in a place like this.
Beautiful, amazing what location will do for a price, that house in the Hudson Valley would be a Minimum of $300K to almost 1M depending on town and view.
Definitely a beautiful house with great features waiting to be lovingly restored. The kitchen is large, take out the laundry and move it to the cold storage room, turn the barn into a gorgeous modern rustic great room barn style. Once the house is fully updated structurally, septics, electric, foundation, plumbing, lead and asbestos removal, heating and cooling, rotted wood and features replaced, roofing, insulation, windows repaired, I can see it being delightful. Need to add several modern full and half baths there. Expect to drop at least $300k there and rip down to the studs.
Incredible showing. I am enchanted. It is in my purchase budget but the restoratives costs could be dramatic. Where is the nearest major medical center pharmacy ? I am retired and those are key questions for me & library ?

If you're not from New England, Rhubarb isn't a fruit. It's a native, sour stalk, introduced to the first settlers by the native people. It's still used today, in pies. (with lots of sugar to make it palatable - commonly mixed with strawberries)
Growing up in the upper Midwest we had a rhubarb patch in the backyard. I remember sitting out there for hours, using the sugar bowl like a dip. I also seem to remember more than one scolding when the sugar bowl got left out there.

A beauty, the problem is: difficult to find workers to restore the property, how far is the next hospital, and doctors, how far is the next airport.
Hospital 25 miles airport in Presque Isle about 60 miles.
its in the middle of no where
$89,900 seems like a steal to me for this very large home with that GORGEOUS staircase that enthralled me and had me hooked from the very beginning of our splendid tour. Great job!!!
Thanks for sharing.
I love the front porch
That stairway at the entrance is Magnificent 💕
Thanks for sharing.
Wow, that's a pretty good price for a home like this, especially in Maine.
We agree!
Insanely gorgeous house!! If only this was shown 10 years ago😭. Definitely has the makings for a bed & breakfast. Best wishes to whoever purchases this home!
Thank you for watching and commenting! It is a special place for sure.
Def needs more bathrooms for that though.
@@nvalles2565 Most definitely ☺️

Perfect !!! Wish I was there to help out !!! I wish you all the best !!! Keep us updated on your progress !!
Thanks for watching. We do plow our roads in Maine pretty well in the winter. It is not hard to get out and about.
Such a beautiful house! I'm only 16, but after college I really hope I'll be able to move to Maine and enjoy these beautiful houses
I think someone got a great deal, and it is so well preserved!
Thanks for watching and commenting.
What a beautiful home , Thank you for sharing this with us .. Someone will be lucky to purchase
Thanks for sharing. We now have a lucky winner.
A young family would do well in this house with the safety of Maine, good schools, ATV and snowmobile access... personally I love the old everything in it. The owners loved, honored and cherished!
Thanks for sharing!
good luck getting a job there
@@lifestyleproperties I can see a Bed and Breakfast...or a home business out of that home. Its beautiful!!
@@barbaram5214 I don’t think people who choose to live in Island Falls are going to do remote jobs, they don’t even want their kids doing remote learning
What a great tour! Thank you, so entertaining and informative as well. The house is remarkable. I wish I could get my husband to move to Maine! He keeps saying NH is better for retirees...I'm not so sure. Anyway, Carmen, you did a great job. I just love the kitchen! Those cabinets!! And a butler's pantry, I love it. With a safe, lol!
Glad you enjoyed it! Maybe your husband will come around!
Watch the property taxes in NH. It varies town to town. We have a normal 3 bed 2 1/2 bath house and we pay over $8k a year. I’d rather pay income tax! Lol
@@croberts709 For sure. Moving from MA we know all about property taxes!
4:13 large crack in wall near light fixture. What a gorgeous home!
It sure is.
Thanks for the comments.
I’d buy this in a heartbeat as a family home. It’s so worth saving
We agree, thanks for watching.
This is a gorgeous home! I would love to have this to raise foster care children. A dream home for foster care children. Wish I could afford.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Lots of running. :)
Perfect
Thank you for the video of this unique property. I wish I had the funds to purchase and restore that beautiful Victorian.
Glad you enjoyed it
A video so wonderfully made that this Indiana boy with no intent of moving anytime soon watched the entire thing. A dreamy property, indeed.
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Fantastic tour! Probably the best, most in depth home tour video I've seen... thanks!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow old Victorian Homes were a dream of mine they still take my breath away! 💜💜💜
Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.
You did a beautiful job of presenting the house and the area around it
Thanks
Oh yes that wood paneling has to go! The house has lots of potential for future residents.
Thanks for sharing.
I do think panelling halfway topped with wallpaper on the straight up walls would be nice but there are so many angled areas that plaster or wall paper would be best. I'm curious how it was originally. I would love to see original photos. Lots of space, original features, interesting history and beautiful grounds. My kind of project just not at my senior age. I hope someone takes it on and gives it a new life.
@@jhankri We are on the same page! I am not able to do the renovations like I could when younger, but I agree with your ideas! Without being able to physically do a lot of the work personally (tiles, ceramic replacement, painting) will get very expensive. The renovations will probably start at $300k minimum (plumbing, replace rotten boards, roof, electrical, etc) and probably has termite damage, need Asbestos removal, etc. It would be worth it to restore though.

Paint the paneling a quality paint Sherwin williams has a great selection
Not sure why this video was recommended to me, other than the fact that I have looked at real estate in my area. I am not in Maine or anywhere in New England...but my family has roots in Connecticut and I can really appreciate the beauty of this old house!!! Carmen, you also did a great job showing it!!! 💗🙏🌺
Thanks for watching.
I had to look twice at the year this was put up. That is a fantastic price!!!!
Thanks for watching.
MY GOODNESS!! THIS IS STEAL FOR THIS BEAUTIFUL PLACE! I LOVE THESE VICTORIAN STYLE HOMES❤🙏
BEAUTIFUL HOME🙏
Thank you so much!
I wish I could follow the restoration of this property! It would be gorgeous!
Yes it would.
What a beautiful home. Born in Maine, I can recall visiting my grandma in Lincolnville with a home similar in beauty! Early in the morning a man would come by in a truck selling home made donuts & my grandma would go out to meet him; just to please her grandchildren!❤
Thanks for sharing the memories!
I’ve never heard of an 18 hole golf course described that way…loved it! House is beautiful love those 1890-1905 Victorian homes!
It will need a lot of updating and some major renovation projects done too.
But the natural beauty that is hidden could be easily brought back to its original grandeur!
A pearl that is just waiting to be extracted!
Thanks for sharing.
Gorgeous stairway! Must have been a master carpenter that did it!
For sure! Thanks for watching.
The stair itself would probably cost tens of thousands of dollars to replicate today,
My jaw hit the floor when I saw it!
#1 rule for me in buying a house, is a grand entrance, with a handsome staircase inviting you in.
Wow I love this house! And the price is great too!
It really is!
Love rubarb! I’d keep the doorbell!💕loads of potential! Would make a separate living quarters and reuse the old kitchen 💕💕. I would also save some wallpapers they are so nice!
Thanks for the comments.
I love the Virginia landmarks (Mt Vernon and Monticello) wallpaper on the walls of the second floor hallway!
This house is already sold has to be . Love it I could raise my 5 grandchildren here . In love with this.
It is under contract.
If I ever die this is the type of house I’d want to haunt lol but seriously this is magnificent. It’s got so much historical value and can be so nicely restored since a lot of the original features are still there. It seems like a nice serene area to live in too.
Thanks for sharing.
As beautiful as it is, the restoration cost would be double the asking price.
Maybe, but look what you would have when done.
Still less than an average ugly new build in most states.
Furnace doesn't work?
double? You wish it were that low.
Perhaps, but that would still be a deal. It looks very well preserved as is.
This house is gorgeous. I absolutely love it.
Oh to be young again Love love love this house I do hope someone Restores this Beautiful house
when people say they dont build them like they used to, this is what that means. that foundation is something. I would love to tour this property.
Call Carmen at 207-290-0371
Beautiful! Good luck in the sale! Historic Maine.
Thank you!
You have so many properties that are what we're looking for (I just feel pulled to Maine) but the job situation is a deal breaker =(
I live in Maine and would never want to be anywhere else but….. the job situation is tough… you either have to come to this state with money, or be willing to work for low wages.. and be satisfied with that..it’s quite safe and beautiful and the seasons are delightful….but Maine is not going to offer top dollar in the income Dept…still, it’s so worth it, to be here..🙂
Businesses are hiring in Maine. Also, many people are able to do work from home. It all depends on your skills, but is worth considering.
If you can work from home this place would be worth it. Have an online business too.
When she says "This house has everything." I was wondering from the beginning if the house is possibly haunted..... Do the Kelley's still inhabit the house? It's a beautiful house and if I had that kind of money, I would love to live in a place like this.
No hauntings to our knowledge.
I thought the same thing!
I owned a 1904 home that had a ghost. I simply demsnded it leave in the name of Jesus Christ and invited the Holy Spirit in. No problem.
Tell us about the Kelleys!
We paid double for our 3 bedroom 1.5 bath townhome here in Charleston,SC..What an amazing find I hope someone can return it to its former glory..
Thanks for sharing and subscribing to our channel.
Wow 💖 whoever buys this property will be so lucky to have an amazing space and history. Love love the realtor !!!!
Thanks for the share and like.
Beautiful, amazing what location will do for a price, that house in the Hudson Valley would be a Minimum of $300K to almost 1M depending on town and view.
Very true. Thanks for watching.
I lived in the Hudson Valley and you're right about the pricing. There are many Victorian homes still there.
.
@@peggyhiggins6923 I'm Realtor in HV and just checked the MLS homes in that condition are $599K to $3M.
We suggest you build a new home instead.
@@lifestyleproperties 😂
Museum quality property. I hope someone restores it to its original glory.
We hope so too.
The authenticity and quality is a dream
Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely beautiful home and I love all of its original detailing. Very costly to renovate these but so worth it to preserve a true victorian gem!
Absolutely!! Thanks for sharing.
Gorgeous, I love Victorian era homes.
For a beautiful house like that at that price it's probably Haunted.
That’s what I was thinking too.🤣😂🤣
Thanks for watching.
Before buying , talk to some neighbors
Thats a bonus!
Friendly ghosts if anything, seems like a great family home
Incredible showing. I am enchanted. It is in my purchase budget but the restoratives costs could be dramatic. Where is the nearest major medical center pharmacy ? I am retired and those are key questions for me & library ?
The nearest hospital is in Houlton 27 miles +/-. Northern Light hospital in Bangor is about 92 miles.
Just about anywhere in Ontario Canada this would sell for a minimum of $700,000! So amazing ☺️. Well done.
Thanks.
Love it that you showed the floor plan ❤️
Glad you liked it!!
What a great house. Agreed paneling (and carpet) must go.
The upstairs wallpaper is loud but AWESOME... us it depicting Mt. Vernon? Hard to tell...
This realty company does the best videos...
Any old-fashioned general stores for sale?
Thanks for comments. We are not sure on the wall paper in the hall. No old stores for sale at the moment.
Beautiful tour...Love the house!
Thank you!
How beautiful is that? Is the price reflecting the furnace issue? Do they know the cost to repair? I love this property !!
The price reflects the condition. No estimate for heating repair has been done.
You do a great job of showing the property-just the right speed. The home is amazing but it would take a lot of work and money to really restore it to its original state. It should be restored! Hope you find someone who is willing to do it.
Thanks and we think we have found them. Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful home. This house is big enough for a dormitory!
I haven’t lived in Maine since 1967 and I never got this far up in the state living in Bangor. Always enjoyed my time there. Beautiful woods, lakes and mountains.
If you're not from New England, Rhubarb isn't a fruit. It's a native, sour stalk, introduced to the first settlers by the native people. It's still used today, in pies. (with lots of sugar to make it palatable - commonly mixed with strawberries)
Thanks for sharing your expertise.
Growing up in the upper Midwest we had a rhubarb patch in the backyard. I remember sitting out there for hours, using the sugar bowl like a dip. I also seem to remember more than one scolding when the sugar bowl got left out there.
