I never thought I would want to go to nigeria but after watching a couple of battabox videos it most definately is on my travel list. The culture and the people and the food, it looks amazing. And as always nice video! Greetings from Sweden :)
I’m in the States....ADOS ...black woman lol. 1% Nigeria....I made Moi Moi at home with the direction of my friend from Lagos. Moi Moi was very enjoyable and gave me lots of energy. Protein.....protein...with vitamins.
MOI MOI...one of the reasons I love my country....in my home going to Nigerian restaurants is the best day....ever, despite the reason that my wife is American...she loves Naija food.... a lot
In Brazil we usually make them by using grinded beans with onion as well as the videos shows, but adding dry shrimp and palm oil. After mixing the "dough", then we wrap the mixture into banana tree leaves in order to boil like the Nigerian People do until these days. It's Amazing to know that the slaves in the past have left a huge legacy to the brazilian culture and religiosity.. By the way, we call moi moi in Brazil "Abará" (maybe the spelling would be Agbara or something perhaps due to FON Influence i'm not sure, sorry) or Olele(Alele maybe)....
Oje moi moi tewe tewe!!!The leaf type is much better it adds its flavor to the moimoi especially when its hot and fresh from the pot.And the leaf folding is definitely a cool technique that takes time to master. I remember as a toddler of 5 years old looking at my Mom in awe as she folded and placed the moimoi artistically inside the pot full of twigs so as to ensure none of them unravel and pour :D good times!
lol... You sabi better warkin ooo... Thank you for watching our videos, abeg kindly subscribe to our channel via goo.gl/4dgy2r and also turn on the notification bell to get updates on more exciting videos...

They are Nigerian tamales , or pasteles , this food exist in alot of cultures but the starch used may be different from Beans , instead corn , yuca , cassava , etc..
i just found your channel and I love it. I like it so much when you show the people walking by. I'm Haitian and live in the belly of the beast - which is the US. Your videos make me miss my people because I am surrounded by Caucazoids here. You eat better than we eat here because all our food here is fake (GMO) foods and many many many people are sick always. Visit here for a short time if you must but don't stay. They kill and oppress Black people (males mostly) here and the orange banana we have for President is an open racist.......I love when you help the women. They are brilliant and so beautiful....Merci!
I just love how the lady on the right just picks her nose right before grabbing a leaf to prepare the moi moi for everyone @ 13:46 😍 shes sharing all her love by giving everyone a little piece of her 😉
BATTA BOX love your show.....point of concern......use earplugs for workers using noisy machines..... we that enjoyed loud "music" in the 1980's now are are having hearing damage manifestations in the 2000's "66" watching from NYC
This is nice, warri pikin i like you tomuch for teaching all this Nigerian food to us i have learned alot and how i wish i will get your contact and give you some small ego.
@ 13:36 Plastic with heat is not good bro. it leaches chemical and causes cancer, am glad the women don't use plastic, I will definitely go for the natural leaf one.
that leaves takes person to d next level,i used foil container,my mum use to fry the oil abit,i don't know why but I don't have time to fry any oil😁,I missed moimoi leaf
A long time ago I had an igbo friend and i tried to impress her my making moi moi. i am not African and it took me SO LONG to separate the beans from the skin......45 minutes at least.....definitely not American fast food. It turned out okay...definitely not as good as when she made it
Hands down the hardest part of making this delicious meal is skinning the beans. In the northern part of Nigeria, we use to put the beans in water for a little time, 5-10 minutes to make the skin loose, then the beans will be transferred to a mortal and crushed lightly, the skin will come off the beans. The lady in the clip is using her hand to separate the beans from its skin, kind of hard if you ask me.
I never thought I would want to go to nigeria but after watching a couple of battabox videos it most definately is on my travel list. The culture and the people and the food, it looks amazing. And as always nice video! Greetings from Sweden :)

@Ilson Fernandes Junior Olele is the other name for Moimoi in Yorùbá language.

I love how in the middle of working Sister straps the baby on and keeps working.....Black Girl Magic.
Stephanie I know right? My Mom used to do this to me and my brother as she did her house work.
nice you could just put the time stamp 13:00 for those reading your comment
That is a bad habit, but in her defense, she used her left hand which only touches the leaf, but the main food she handled with her right hand.
