    Germany has some of the cleanest and most beautiful train stations I have ever seen! Berliners and all German citizens have much to be proud of, keep up the great videos. Your work is fantastic!

    I visited the new subway stations 2 weeks ago, they are beautiful. I like the stop Museumsinsel.
    It looks very nice at 1:54, but wearing a mask for mouth and nose is still required in the German OV. 😉

      No, but germany operates on the honour system, we simply trust people to pay, plus most people have a monthly ticket anyways. There are ticket inspections on board the trains occasionally

      They do check the tickets, and they don't wear uniforms. They wear all kinds of outfits to surprise the people without a ticket and to give them a 60€ fine. It's not worth it. And stamp your ticket, otherwise it is not valid

    Nice new stations. 1:00 the IK-traintype is the only narrow profile train able to run on the large profil subway lines. But as I understand it the large profile lines and narrow profile lines have different types of third rail collection. So apart form the adaptation on the outside visible at the doors and the gap-filling step, the current-collection system of this train can capture it as well on top as on the bottom of the third rail? And while the 7:00 H-series trains also exist in a HK (narrow profile) variant, why was there never a I-variant of the IK? Seems more logical if you have too few broad profile trains, to order the I-variant, but the BVG choose to adapt the IK for running on the U5?

      The IK was ordered only in a small batch at first (only to replace outgoing A3L71 trains), and were not meant to be on the large profile lines. Luckily they opted for a polarisation switch to be fitted, so they could be adapted to run on the large profile lines after all the other adaptation works. Due to financial reasons, BVG hadn't ordered any new large profile trains since 2002, instead opting to refurbish older trains from the 1970's. But when it became clear that this wasn't possible because the aluminium bodies of F79 trains were in too bad condition, they needed replacements fast. IK trains were already developed and being built, so they ordered more as a stopgap measure. A new tender for large profile trains took ages because of some legal squabbling, but now the new series of J and JK trains will be delivered starting in 2022 with prototypes.
