This video TOTALLY helped me out, and was the only one that dealt with this issue I found. My 1992 F150 had a bad ignition lock cylinder, so bad I could start the truck with out the key, so I did not start with everything lined up. I now can start my truck, but I just can't turn it into Accessory or remove the key, but hey it starts! Until I can figure out why I can't get the key to release I have been releasing the whole ignition lock when I park the truck. lol!
I have a 1996 f250 with the same issue. I tried a new key cylinder and a new switch but neither worked. I am going to take it back apart and try adjusting the gear. Thanks for the video.
I'm having the same issue, and I wonder if you remove the ignition switch, (not cylinder) you can see a hole in the actuator rod and also a line on the steering column casing next to it. Does this have anything to do with aligning the actuator rod (ignition switch pin) position, and the rotational position of the lock cylinder while assembling.
I did the exact same thing before I watched this video and he's right
