I've been working outside my whole life (54 years old now), and I've come to realize that those are the days you love. It sucks while you're in it, but years later, you look back on those days and you feel proud of yourself for sucking it up and getting it done. Nice job Joe and cameralady.

I feel exactly the same,logged for 30 winters,backhoeing for 50 years plus farmed the quarter we live on,not so healthy now at 72 and still want to do some of those things to an extent.
I’ve worked all my life in construction outdoors and the worst weather days were always the days that proved the mettle of the crews. They developed a joint respect between the contractors and the engineers who stuck it out with them rather than retiring to a nice warm truck. Adverse conditions always made for the best stories. People not in the industry always asked what happens when it rains, (thinking we all go home) my response was always “we get wet”… highways had to stay open.
Thanks for keeping it real Joe. Very creative of your "camera production crew" to film a not so glamorous but very real aspect of a firewood delivery service.
Mama always said there would be days like this.

You are going the extra mile because of your solid business principles that pay dividends the majority of the time. Years ago, because of a shipping error, I had to wait until the retail arm of our company closed at 5 PM on Christmas Eve to borrow from inventory (what didn’t get delivered). Yes, I was at a customer’s home setting up computers (gifts for 4 grandchildren) arriving at my home around 9 PM. I honored my commitment. It’s that simple. Happy Thanksgiving, Joe!

As a service repair plumber restaurants are always top priority. Working after hours when the kitchen was down and get them back in business before they open for the day is the name of the game.
Now thats Customer Service Joe. I get the last minute deliveries also. When they forget it's frustrating but we all forget stuff. They will always appreciate your Customer service especially in bad weather. Keep up the good work Joe. 👍

The answer to the question you put out at about 12:30 is definitely yes. Tenant (and a friend from waaaay back) called me today, asked for help with some things. I also gave him a ride to go pick up his car from the shop.
That's the way I am too. If that happened to me I am out the door.

I found years ago when the weather turns bad( rain, snow and cold) i benefited from rain gear. Its not perfect but you can step out of it and be partially dry. It worked well when outside hour hours.

hi there , just nasty out , that rain just made it here to MD, maybe about 40+ years ago when i had to work in the rain as you are ,i thought this would not be a one time thing ,so i bought one of those expensive.long yellow heavy rain coats like the police ware . still have it. one of the smartest things i have ever bought .highly recommended . Have a Great Thanksgiving and best to all John
This coat I had on was weatherproof but this was the second load it was outside. It did keep me dry but it was SOAKED. Still wet today! Happy Thanksgiving John!

If the wood is seasoned, as yours seems to be, it is in fact dry. Just because it got a little rain on it, does not make it not "dry Wood", yes it has rain on it, but only the surface is wet, it was not stored under water. By the time it gets into the fire it will be dry.

Those are soft bolts, 8.8 or grade 5. I would use the bar as leverage to get it to come out. My oiler has decided to start working properly so I have been happy lately LOL

I don't know how much money you're making, but yer earnin' it! The same thing applies when people wax romantic about things like backyard chickens or living an off-grid lifestyle. There are times when it's great and you love it...and then there are times when it's a lot of work and basically just sucks, but you HAVE to do it. One of the greatest comforts of modern life, and perhaps one of its most insidious downsides, is how often you get to avoid doing something you don't want to do, like stack a load of firewood in the rain.

It's weather like that i decided to get a very good set of waterproof trousers and coat so able to carry on cutting and delivering 😂

I've retired from firewood now,but cheaper waterproof yes sweating but the set I've had now for few years are better
But I've found it's better to just wear as normal pair of trousers as their lined rather than over trousers..
Not to mention they will pay a premium for every load for the once every couple years this happens.
in my case I am standing behind these guys. I'm not perfect so I don't expect them to be either.
