heya! so happy your stay in Collingwood was memorable! I'm from Melbourne, living in California and planning a trip home in 2025. Do you remember the name of the AirB&B you stayed in? That would be perfect for our homecoming trip!
Search for " Find Luxury in an Old-Charm converted warehouse" on airbnb it really was an INCREDIBLE house. The video doesn't do it justice. Hope you and your family enjoy your trip home.
This was heaps better... Sorry your frustration in the last video was so evident. Travelling at night etc etc...this pace was better. As i mentioned last time.. when you go back home check out, one pack wanderers and write down some of those amazing places they saw and definetly come back and really enjoy some more natural wonders. Your storytelling was amazing this video. Stay safe...
Beautiful video. Last weeks mishaps are a true representation of what real life is about and we can never be truly prepared for everything. So don't let negative comments affect your experience. Thank you for sharing your families adventures.
Really glad that you guys had a better second week there are plenty of great places to see in Australia you just have to know where they are and the best way to get between them. This country like the US is vast especially when your time is compressed so flying is probably your best option then hiring a car and exploring each area once you get there. I know that vacation time in the US is shorter and Australia is a long way to come so I guess you can only do what time allows. I hope that you can come back one day a week in south east Queensland and a week in Cairns would be a nice experience just dont do it in the middle of out summer, spring and autumn are ideal times to be up there.
You'll have to come back as you have missed a lot of what's here to experience and show you. 😎 Just a shame it's a short trip and I hope to see more videos that'll be longer. Yeah editing on the go is hard but you put in the hard work the rewards are definitely worth it just like Australia mate.
Well I'm glad you've learned your lesson, and to better prepare your trip to Australia next time. Glad you enjoyed Melbourne and Victoria (from a Melbournian).
Australia is vast, and it’s easy to underestimate the distances between towns, places of interest. There’s lots to see but also lots of monotony. Research the trips, sites, maps, open hours of camp sites and weather. Have fun.
All good. Hope your short trip was enjoyable. It suprises me you still say 'Mel born', surely you've heard everyone else saying 'Mel bun'? That's how an Aussie says Melbun. 🙃🇦🇺
Those videos were shot a few weeks ago. We didn't realize we were saying it wrong till after they had been shot. In our 2nd Austrailain video when we did the voice overs we did correct it :)
Glad you are having so much fun. Your helping us appreciate this great country. When you're looking out to sea at Apollo Bay --- just think --- Apollo Bay - is closer to the Antarctic than it is to Darwin in the north.
here are 10 small tips to any US citizen that wants to visit Australia. 1. leave your attitude along with your guns at the departure lounge. 2. don't panic! it will be there waiting for you when you get back, we don't want it. 3. you cannot buy a gun here as easily as you can in the US, nor carry a gun over here, this is not the wild west as it is in the USA. 4. enjoy the sites the food and the different cultures. 5. Australia has a culture, they have song, dance and food and we are proud of it. 6. The US has, Levi's jeans, McDonalds, mass shootings, guns and bombs and you are proud of it? 7. take lots of photos, buy the occasional souvenir. 8. when you get back to the US "the home of the brave and the free," pick up your gun and your attitude, you will notice it is still there intact as you left it. 9. Show your friends the photos and tell them you had a nice time. 10. Oh and don't forget to tell your friends you experienced real freedom for the first time in your life not having to carry a GUN!
OMG! The trip you had from Adelaide to Sydney was like the first time I tried to take my husband from Warnambool to Melbourne via the Great Ocean Road (GOR). It was Easter Sunday 30 years ago and we had just returned from two weeks holiday on Kangaroo Island. My hubby refused to let me book accommodation for the night and no one mentioned there is always a HUGE surfing carnival there at Easter. We planned to sight see, then stay in a motel, see some more before visiting my aunt over an hour's drive from Melbourne at the base of the Dandenong Ranges. We ended up arriving at my aunt's home at 4am. 31 years later, in April 2025 (BEFORE Easter surfing carnival and school holidays!) I have planned and BOOKED for two nights glamping (a Xmas pressie from our daughter) at a winery at the start of the GOR, then three nights at my sister-in-law's holiday home at Apollo Bay and then two nights at Port Campbell before going home via Hall's Gap and the Grampians National Park. Next time I plan to take it slowly!
A surfing carnival sounds very interesting. Even with all this issues I'm sure you were able to find some amazing moments during that trip. What an INCREDIBLE Christmas gift to your daughter. Are you joining her on the trip? For me I like to be on the go and get in as much as I can in the short time I'm there. Since we are traveling for at least a year I'm trying to learn to enjoy slower travel. Thanks for joining us
Trip of a lifetime

Glad you slowed down to enjoy Australia, some of your rough start I think was from rushing.
For sure that’s why we had a tough 1st week. Glad we found our groove. That second week was INCREDIBLE!!! ❤

Thank you for the kind words and for the tips. We most certainly underestimated Australia. We'll be back.
It’s always been called the National Gallery of Victoria because before federation Vic was setting up to be an independent state.

The Great Ocean Road is the biggest War Memorial in the World. Built by returned WWI servicemen. That air was fresh off the ocean from Antarctica.
