    The penguins tend to wash up on great Ocean Rd and any surf beaches after they die in the water, could be injuries or old age etc as well

    This is such an epic road trip! The water, and cliff and rock formations, and forests are all amazing. The historic wharf at Port Fairy looks delightful. Except for the stingray maybe. That was gigantic. Not sure I would have tried vegemite ice cream. The meat pies and lamington looked pretty good though. The sinkhole and wildlife park were cool too. So much to like in this one. Thanks for taking us along!

    That is an awesome road trip, Spectacular beaches with the Amazing Arches, and Happy to know that the California trees are saved in Southern Australia, 80 % of the Redwoods had burned last year in Northern California including the 1St National Park in California, that had the cutout of the 5,800 year old RedWood Lovely Places thans very much for sharing 🏞👦🏻👍🏻

      @@IfWeGoTo I actually am not sure if that one is still there. I just remembered Miur Woods 🪵😭 they hanging a 1 foot thick cutout with a 10 diameter. Which show the centuries with the rings the 5,800 years old . Until it and they it smoothly to the rings of its ages.

    Fantastic road trip! Really upsetting about the penguins. That stingray was absolutely enormous. And I was fascinated to see that there were California redwoods there. I did not know that.

    • @IfWeGoTo
      @IfWeGoTo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Th penguins were heartbreaking but we tried not to let that get us too down!! The redwoods were awesome, you've seen the giant sequoias in your adventures I assume right?

    • @blueycarlton
      @blueycarlton 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      These redwoods are disease free and are a genetic back up for the Californian trees.
      Disappointed that these two did not do some basic research about the areas they visited and provide the viewer with some general or historical background.
      Who would get into a bikini on a beach in the middle of winter? Only an exhibitionist would do that.

    • @IfWeGoTo
      @IfWeGoTo  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Didn’t know that! Thanks! We travel full time and work so we don’t always have the time to learn everything about each area. So we appreciate you guys filling us in on the things we missed.
      It was actually fall & Swimsuits at the beach are welcome in all seasons where we’re from. Is that not the case in Australia? Cause we saw others in swimsuits too… assumed it was ok cause it was the beach. Lol

We were going to rent a Campervan for our trip....did you see many or know if there are parks for them to stay in? I think I'd swallow my knee caps in that Fiat! Loved the Ice creams stops too. The pandemic is a real bummer huh! :(
      This road trip took us around 2 weeks, but you could do it in as little as about 10 hours if you made no stops, or take even longer and make more stops!
      I think the direction you would want to go depends on what you want to afterwards. Adelaide is a pretty good launching point if you want to head into the outback or continue your trip west. Melbourne of course is a big city and their flights out are cheaper if you’re doing this as a stand-alone trip, plus it’s closer/more connected if you want to also see Sydney, Tasmania, etc etc.

If you’re looking to save a bit on the trip and are flexible, there are a lot of companies that will even let you do the drive for free because they need people to move the cars long distances. Only catch is that it’s on their schedule and it’s limited to meet their needs. :)

    A word of advice for any potential tourists thinking of driving around outside of the major cities. Please don't hire a small car. If you hit a Roo driving one of those things, you'll end up in hospital for a very long time. Most people who live out in these areas drive substantially bigger cars for that exact reason. The damage caused by Roo's when you hit one at 80 plus is nothing short of catastrophic. But I'm glad you had a nice time. (Also next time stop at the Supermarket in Torquay and buy a loaf of bread and sandwich fillings and save yourself a ton of money).
    The crap you saw on the beach at Gibson steps is incoming containerships on their way to Port Melbourne who are illegally dumping their bilge tanks into the Ocean. It happens all the time and is not Policed. Thank you for showing the result of this illegal dumping.

    You should have contacted Parks Victoria to report the dead birdlife and plastics washed up. Australian authorities take a very dim view of wildlife being impacted by people, especially in nation parks.
