Watching this sitting in Oakville just outside of Toronto, Canada. Used to frequent Murree and Nathiagali in our summer holidays growing up in Pakistan. That was many, many moons ago. Brings back memories. If you two have a chance take a couple of days and visit Nathiagali. It’s a little less commercial than Murree - more idyllic.

Ivana you are right in the Kashmiri chai they put ground cardamom and star anise and takes it a long time to make to bring out pink colour and flavour
Plus the leaves are put in cold water pouring constantly from above with a stirring cup and a pinch of baking soda brings out that bright pink colour and lastly cream is added Traditionally it is salty but people like it sugary here. Its combo is the Kashmiri kulchas.
Pakoras are fritters made out of chickpea flour and you can coat any vegetables even chicken pieces in the batter.Spot on Ivana it has coriander seeds cumin and other spices and herbs 🌿
In Murree its a must have thing these pakoras.Hey guys when you are in Hunza try tge local cuisine which is wayy different from our usual cuisine.Try Dowdo noodle soup Chapshoro a local kind of stuffed paratha with cottage cheese chutney and the Pamiran cuisine at Sust.Enjoy Hunza and hike to the Duiker top for sunset or sunrise 🌅.Hunza is 🥰

03:49 _'Wala'_ refers to the person. It doesn't literally mean *'man'* but it is used in the same sense like saying _Dudh _*_Wala_* meaning _The Milk _*_Man_* or the person selling Milk.
For instance, Steve is _Pindi wala/Pindi boy_ and Ivana is _Glasses wali/The girl with glasses_ ('Wali' for girl and ''Wala' for boy)

Keep in mind 9 out of 10 don't know, how to prepare the Kashmiri or pink tea. Mostly concentrate on pink color and pistachio.
There is a story associated to Kashmiri tea.
During Mughal era, a delegation from the Ottoman empire, was state guest. After the main course the pink tea was served on the dinning table. The guest took a sip and ask the service man to provide sugar. And you know what, the king ordered his men to take back the tea from the table n never let them drink it. Saying you guys don't know the manners.
    Talking about uttering Murray.
It sound same like ' Curry' or 'Burry' or 'Hurry'

All these commercial kashmiri chayes piss me off! They only boil the water for a few minutes add the tea & add a shit ton of baking soda to make it turn pink & the worst part THEY ADD SUGAR. Kashmiri chaye in kashmiri language is called "nun chaye" which means salty tea. We actually add salt instead of sugar, there are no pistachios or anything of that sort on top. Tea is boiled in water for hours & sometimes days! finally the milk & salt is added.

Actually, Muree is named after Mary. There is a grave up the hills which is believed to be of Mary. According to some historical counts, Jesus traveled to Kashmir along with his mother Mary, which on the way to Kashmir died here & burried. Thats why this place is called Murree. There is another grave in Srinagar in indian part of Kashmir, which is believed to be of Jesus himself. There are a lot of documentries about it too that did Jesus travelled to Kashmir or not? Some people are not sure about it, others have proofs to show. But you know this world, everyone has different view & we should respect everone.

    Hi, Steve and Evan
Its nice to see you in Muree. Its very historical place in Christianity. The name of Murree drive from Marry. When Jesus travelled to kashmir for the search of lost tribe of Israelite. This was the route to Kashmir. The Mother Marry passed away in Murree thats why its called Murree due to her. She buried in Muree. Her grave is there and its old sherine close and under a big tower. You must visit there. Ask any local guy and show us.your videos are awsome.
    Love you from Toronto Canada

Wow , a very down to earth observation and reviews about three different chai flavors and it was really honest review about Kashmiri chai , i.e. Creamy ... it is meant to be thick and creamy with crushed nuts on top , usually pistachios. Loved your vlog guys . looking forward to your next vlog. Ciao

"Wala" is not shop, but one who sells ! For example "chai wala" means one who sells tea. "Doodh wala" means milk man... "doodh" means milk!
