    I followed your recipe to the T, just halving the ingredients as it was my 1st attempt. Well, the whole family wished I'd made more. It came out so well. The dough was so soft and the filling was amazing. I grated fresh coconut. Girl, I love watching your videos. Keep up the brilliant work. Off to make some butterflaps now!! 🇬🇾🇬🇧

    We do this in St Lucia and call it turnover, but in smaller individual rolls. I'll try this. Thanks Jehan.

    I mix this so much. My dad used to make the best salara ever. He learned from his mom, who had a restaurant. Yumm!

    Very nice indeed. I like to add a little grated ginger and nut meg to the coconut mixture.

    Thanks for the recipe. I tried this today and had to add quite a bit more flour because I'm accustomed to weighing my ingredients. I use 120g flour to be 1 cup flour. I would like to suggest weighing your ingredients whenever you're creating your recipes. I've had this issue for many of your recipes that I've tried. Including weights will allow us to recreate the recipe to have results similar to yours. Thanks for sharing and the end results was fabulous.

    I have actual coconuts... would freshly grated coconut work as well as the store bought coconut flakes?

    Can I use butter instead of shortening?

    • @jehanpowell
      @jehanpowell  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can but it will affect the texture of the pastry and it can be extremely crumbly.
