For bumper to bumper traffic situations, AT is best, AMT is actually a manual transmission with electronic actuators to make it automatic but that is not true Automatic. I will make a separate video on this. Thanks.

Not just NVH, but wear and tear of moving parts will also be higher due to unevenness in 3 cylinder. Means in longer term, more repairs.
1 more cylinder means extra moving parts means extra maintenance..
@aajvitcc Right Joshi sahab, however there is a greater wear & tear is result of pushing car in the cold state. Thanks for your contribution to the forum. 🍁👍
No 4cylinder have refinement and balance and low compression so need no repairs in long run and it is proved from many years 3cylonder engines are waste engine due to cost cutting companies like maruti and tata are giving 3cylinder engines which have high compression so because of that we have to repair it more @@kumarpgoutam

1.) Budget: 6 to 7 lakh
2.) Use case: only use for traveling journey like meghalaya, ladakh etc...
3.) Journey: specially journey with family only so safety must.
Maine 3 car socha hu so can you please suggest me sir 1) Tata punch/Tiago(base model) 2) Maruti Suzuki ignis.
Or Apka koi alga preference car ho to please batana sir.
Swapan sahab, many thanks 🙏
I think for such travel, you need a good boot space, high ground clearance, and a reliable car. You may compare TATA Punch and Hyundai Exter, these are good cars in this price range. Safety ratings of Exter are not out yet but have good build quality.
Ignis has Good mileage reasonable boot space, high ground clearance but not rated safer like others.
Let me know if this is helpful or if you need more information. Thanks 🙏

Professor sahab....which one should i choose xuv 3xo mx2 pro or signature kylaq.
Your opinion is awaited😊
Salman Sahab!
I can tell you from the engine point of view, the overall features are not handy Sir.
If you compare the engine, the TSI 1.0 engine is more superior technology wise than the 3xO engine 1.2 TGDi engine but that does not mean Mahindra engine is bad. Kylaq engine is very refined but if suppose there are issues after warranty then it will be way expensive and complex to maintain.
If you want to know more about TSI 1.0, please wait for my next video which will give you better insight janab. Thank you! 🙏
Awesome, sir. Engine and safety awareness is most important for any car buyer. But sadly, the maximum of us gets distracted by useless features, and that's where auto industry takes advantage. You are doing excellent work sir, keep enlighting us.

3 cylinder engine is good for 1L and in small hatchback..
For SUV and sedan, 4cylinder is must
Absolutely, so everybody has to be aware about use cases and what they are getting so we actually need to drive the manufacturers but not the other way round.
what about VW 1.0 TSI European multiple award-winning engine ?

What do you think about the new skoda kylaq 3 cylinder turbo engine? Do u think it’s gonna be reliable on the long run?
Well, Kylaq TSI is quite a refined engine among most of the 3 cyl engines available in India. One can trust but the driving style and use case matters a lot. TC engines definitely need some extra care. Thanks.

So can you just let me know how is vw vento 1.6 mpi (na) petrol engine 2015 model? And is vw's reliability low wrt engine and its parts?
My friend Shreyas, first of all apology for late reply. I was replying to the short questions an was in between something else. Wanted to take a leisure time to reply your message.
Many thanks for your kind words, support and your keen observation. Communication is the key and I am doing this normal job what I can, I will do this as far as possible. I am glad to associate with you Sir!
To answer your question:
VW Vento 1.6 MPi is running with the older technology. The engine is good but as you know overall maintenance of the car is at higher side in terms of expansive parts etc. VW has started replacing mpi engines with TSI engines with better fuel economy and performance. I am working on the similar subject and you will see the video soon. Thank you!

A quick answer is the way fuel injected for the combustion, in TSI it is more efficient inside the cylinders and also turbocharger used but lets be careful using Turbo efficiently. I will make a separate videos on each of these topics. Hope, this answers for now. Thank you!
3 cylinder engine vibration now a days well refined and well balanced. Crank shaft is equally distributed. Now on upto 1.5 L engines will be develing 3 cylinders. To reduce pollution and increase mileage and cost.
Technology is improving.
Thanks for your contribution, sensible comment but unfortunately not all 3 cyl engines are that refined. and the most refined one available in India are not refined the way 4 cyl engines are.
I have a 4 cylinder turbo petrol engine 90ps. Have been driving everyday for the past 10 years and have driven over 1 lakh km, and rides super smooth. The car is Tata Zest. Unfortunately, Tata discontinued these cars and went with 3 cylinder engines.
Great Rajdeep Sahab, it's really valuable to know your feedback and experience. Shifting to a 3 cylinder car is really unfortunate.

How do you see the new manual kylaq engine for 70% city use?
Please do a video on do's and don'ts of turbo engine driving.
Well, the engine is good in this situation if you follow all best practices stated in the user manual to handle the turbo engine.

@MashofreaksAuto is the price of second to base 'signature' justified? A premium of 1.7 lakhs over the base 'classic' seems expensive.
Sir what about hyundai i20 n line ? Can you tell me is it good for long term uses
Good engine for highway driving, for cities I explained the challenges of 3cyl turbo in video. Thanks 👍
Sir,
Excellent video! Explained in easy-to-understand manner. One of the best YT channels I came across so far. I got a query. Kindly answer. I did a test drive of Nissan Magnite Manual (1L NA). I felt it is not having enough pull. Is it because the power to weight and torque to weight being high? I drive 2007 model Wagon-R which felt almost the same as the new Magnite :-(
Thank you!
Many thanks my friend!
First of all there are technological difference between these to generations of the engine and power to weight, torque to weight ratios play a big role. If you check Magnite is way heavier than old wagon R so somwhere these ratio play a big role also the laden weight capacity of Magnite is not so high due to this reason. If you improve safety and put more steel it will definitely increase weight and decrease pickup. You already know the safetly of Wagon-R. Nissan Magnite is not safest but far better than Wagon R in terms of safety. Thanks 😊🙏

What about new skoda kylaq engine please let me know I should buy it or not
If you are aligned to buy a 3 cylinder engine then its TSI engine is better than many other competitors in the market. It is a Turbo based engine, buy it if it is your use case.
Bro Go for it, I have the kushaq it is great and kylaq is 90% based on kushaq

Satwant Sahab, dhanyawad 🙏🎉
3 cyl is fuel efficient compared to 4 cyl, but needs more balancing for vibration. One cyl less means less emissions. For indian roads 3cyl well balanced is good option.
Logical but use cases matter, 3 cyl can't fulfill all kind of needs. Thanks for your valuable add on
Only fuel efficiency is not a requirement. NVH, COMFORT also adds on driving pleasure
Sir I am buying Skoda Kylaq automatic which comes with 3 cylinder turbo charger engine.
Regular annual service from service centre
Engine idling, Air filter cleaning and replacement
I can keep this car for long time?
Suhail Sahab, among all 3 cylinder TC engines available in India, TSi engines are most refined. If you are aligned with 3-cyl then you can buy. Caring them will definitely benefit you in the longer term, thanks 👍
FYI: turbo is not needed in most city drive situations. So your driving patterns matter a lot.
@ agree sir and we have most driving in city only but safety is one of the concern and my driving style is very relaxed.
When we take Skoda test drive their driving dynamics, handling is on another lever and it’s tempting when we compare it with Brezza.
It is not the engine mainly but it's suspension which made you think like for great driving dynamics in my opinion. The engine just added on top of that. 😊
@@MashofreaksAuto yes sir suspension you are right

Sir suggest some automatic car for every day running from Delhi to gurugram and gurugram to Delhi approx 100 km run in total.
Sir we are buying our first car tata punch pure bs6 phase 2 variant is this car good because it has only 3 engine ?
3 cyl engines are not bad if you have a use case. The good thing about punch is, it has a naturally aspirated engine. Please tell me the usage of this car, highways, and cities. Monthly mileage and kind of city you are in etc.
@MashofreaksAuto sir I am from dehradun I will be driving this car mostly in city but sometimes I will take this car to mountain area highway usage will be minimal
This is one of the best cars in this region, it has good low end torque so you will not be disappointed in n hills. Maybe on highways at high speed over 90 or 100 you may feel a little less power. Otherwise it is great.

Sir, you specifically mentioned about Dzire 2024 3 cylinder engine. Do you recommend it for city use with occasional long distance use? Or still 4 cylinder engine?
Good thing about this dzire w024 is, it has NA engine so for cities it is perfect, long distances also it is good but will not be very punchy at high speed but reasonably good. Rest 4 cyl engine no doubt are superior.

Which car(s) would you recommend around 8L to 10L?
Dear Rachit, thanks for the kind words and I am glad to associate with you! 🙏
Because I do not know your choices so please treat these only as references, you may consider the following:
Punch - 1.2L 3 Cyl NA engine with fine low end torque but not so great pushing on highways. 3 cyl - Best Safety with worst support.
Brezza - 1.5L 4 Cyl NA very refined engine with fine distribution of power and torque in different rpm bands better than Punch on Highway and city as well. Has good safety rating but only the non-hybrid models in your budget which is not a matter of worry but a matter of choice.
Fronx - 1.2 4 Cyl NA again very refined engine like Brezza but NCAP rating is not out yet. Best fuel economy among
This is surely not a final list and treat only as a reference point. Please do some research and make a list and let me know we will decide one for you together.
Hope, this helps! 😊
@@MashofreaksAuto Thanks for your response 🙏,
Sorry I guess I should have mentioned in my requirements that "Safety" is a priority for me,
Also with my driving skills,. driving on slopes is a little difficult for me with low power engines,
My daily running won't be much (in fact mostly I'll be using the car on weekends for first 1-2 years) so I'm wondering which Fuel type I should go with? Petrol? Or Petrol+ Cng?
For the budget, I'm okay to stretch it to another 2L (Total 12L On Road) if that makes it a better long term deal.
I watched your other video comparing NA vs Turbocharged engine, and by that I was convinced that I should go with a 4cyl NA engine, but haven't got a chance to research further yet if new cars have such options in my budget.
Also to begin with, I was initially looking for a 2nd hand car, but they seem too costly for used cars, so I'm more inclined towards new,
But I'm still open to second hand if I find something reliable and reasonable.( Do you have any tips on 2nd hand car purchase?)
Apologies for my long comment, thank you again.
Sir I m confused in buying car between fronx vs dzire plz guide.
Please help me with all your priorities, buying reasons, use cases and driving terrains. Thanks 🙏
I use a 2019 Ford Figo, 1.2 L naturally aspirated petro engine. This is extremely good for highway runs and returns excellent average.
However, the challenge is that when taken to hills or mountain areas, it shows signs of over heating. Can you explain why. Service center cannot tell me why? They said its perfect.
Heating has something to do with two things at the first hand, check the thermostat, the radiator may need clean up, or sometimes there is an issue with the coolant reservoir. Because I do not have a complete picture so you may think about these. Also ask service center guys to check error codes.
Informative channel. New subs

I think the dear member @akumar33669 has given you the best answer but still I suggest you to drive or take demo of 2-3 different cars before you finalize it. All the best 👍
I think They are pushing Limits of 3cylinder engine.
Hi sir, i own brezza 2022 model i used to drive the vehicle in between 2000 to 2300 rpm in hiways with light foot and i am getting an excellent fuel economy.
my question is do we need to run the car at higher rpms sometimes to kick out the carbon diposits ?
And provide your tips inorder to maintain a car for long term (untill engine dies).
First of all Breeza is a NA engine which has a lesser tendency of carbon deposited. At the RPM you drive the car absolutely fine and no need to revv further if not needed. Self cleaning works well, avoid so many short trips and also follow best practices in the user manual. All the best! ☺️ 👍
Sir make a video on " how to drive a 4 cyl NA engine ? " , do's and don'ts.
That's surely a good idea. I noted this topic which may take some time. Thanks for the suggestion. 👍
Sir, I have a TATA Punch BS6 Ph2 with a naturally aspirated 3 cylinder petrol engine. What is your review or rating for this engine?
Because it is without turbo, it is going to be better than turbo in terms of suitable in most of situations. Good thing about this NA engine in Punch is it will give you a better low end torque for city drive and uphill. However, at high speed above 90 or 100. You may feel lack of torque if you want to push it hard. Overall it is good, have some vibrations and can handle more abuses than a TC engine. Overall it is good for this small car.
How is punch engine as compared to swift engine @@MashofreaksAuto
Per ton power and torque is more in case of Swift because it is a lighter bit of compromised with safety where punch is safer. Low end torque is a bit better in punch.
Swift NVH levels seem slightly better than punch but not a big difference because both are 3 cyl
Very honest person ❤
Many thanks for the kind words Alok Sahab 😊👍🎉
Sir, 70% city drive hai in Delhi, which one I should consider for long term Maruti Brezza or Skoda Kylaq, as Kylaq provides more safety and power compared to brezza??
You can go either as per your preference. You have to take care of all best practices for keeping turbos healthy by keeping in mind that the turbo hardly kick in within city may be in some open patch. Car needs some good self cleaning. TSI engine is good among many other 3 cylinder cars but brezza NA can tolerate many abuses if you can't care your car too much. Turbo are really good for highway drives. Hope, this answer your query.
Good informative video. Saw your video of turbo vs NA. I am thinking for Honda Elevate manual. I hope this has good 4 cylinder NA engine for at least 10-12 years.
I also request you to prepare a video for usage and advantage/disadvantage of paddle shifter in cvt.
👍 Thanks.
Many thanks my friend 🎉😊🙏
Honda Elevate engine is really good, go for it if you are looking for life longevity as well.
Okay, I noted down the topic, thanks 👍
Hello sir, you’re such a great teacher!
I’m planning to buy a car but confused between new or used car. My budget is 5-6 lakhs n planning to go for petrol car plus I don’t have much distance requirement. Options I’m considering for used: i20, Altroz, Nissan Magnite or VW Polo. For new options are Tata Punch, Altroz, Swift. I don’t want to spend much on new car but worried about reliability of old car. Could you recommend what should I do in this situation? Also, maintenance n mileage wise what would be the best option?
Many thanks for kind words my friend🙏🎉
For how many years you planning to keep the car after buying it 5-6 lakhs, what kind of city, traffic conditions you are in. Please give me more details which can affect your decision. Thanks.
@ Thanks for your response sir. I’m planning to keep the car for 4-5 years, currently staying in delhi so traffic is actually a problem here.
You're most welcome!
Right, I would suggest you to go for a small car with a naturally aspirated engine. There is not high speed traffic within Delhi so the top notch safety may not be required. You may think about reliable petrol engines from Honda, Toyota or Suzuki, you may add Hyundai as well. Please list your choice among these then we will choose one together. E.g. swift or baleno
@ I’ve short listed Tata Altroz, Tata Punch, Hyundai i20 or Polo
@Villainouspanda I believe i20 or Punch will be good bids rest is your choice. You can try a new tata punch base variant if you have space up to 7lakhs
Very well explained sir thks
Many thanks Singh Sahab 😊🙏

There is no new Jimny 2025 so far, if you are pointing to Auto Expo then it is a concept again with the name "Jimny Conquer Concept". It is easy for me to earn the view on this but I want to tell you all the right story. 😊
Hope, you understand my friend. I will keep you all updated. 🙏
New price and features of new jimny 2025
Sir Tata Nexon diesel engine reliable h ya nahi mujhe lena h sir plz suggest
The Tata nexon diesel engine is reliable but do not buy it if you want to drive it in the city only. Use case driving style matters otherwise you may face early DPF issues. Thanks.
@@MashofreaksAuto 20% city and 80% highway use rahega
Hmnn, go for diesel Nexon considering all factors and feel to ask any query you have. Thanks.
3 cylinder 1.5 litre engines are now common in brands like ford , Chevy in US n Canada. Considering the low fuel prices in those countries running cost is very low in these cars.
I have driven ford escape(1.5 l), chevy equinox (1.5l) and they are super refined. You don’t feel any vibrations
Absolutely and I am with you! 👍😊🎉
Kudos for yet another enlightening video. How do you see the newly launched Kylaq vs VW Taigun GT 1.5 TSi
Regards
1.5tsi is a gem. Too bad that it's too expensive in India. Kylaq 1l 3cyl is an ok engine, not bad. But if you can then go for the 1.5l ones in kushaq/taigun/slavia/virtus.
@MrAvinashsaini Dear Avinash ji, the TSI engines are way refined when we talk about competitors in the same segment. I will try explaining this in a video. Allow me some time. Thanks. 😊🙏
Respected Raj ji,
Thanks a lot for your valuable suggestions, I think the decision is very clear.🙏🙏

BEAUTIFULLY EXPLAINED SIR !!

Hello Sir
I have XUV300 petrol. I don’t feel comfortable driving in hills with this car as it always roll back when i release the break while going uphill because of lag in power. Don’t know whether this is because of turbo engine. Never felt rolling back while driving my alto 800 in hills.
I am thinking of selling xuv300 and then buying Jimny . Will this be a good decision. My driving is mix of highway and hills. Kindly suggest 🙏
This car has weight and torque at low rpm is less may cause to give this feeling and rest is the game of using half clutch in this situation if there is no hill hold.
Thats the Lord Alto, Jimny is a great vehicle specially on the hills. I own and enjoy Jimny everywhere. If you want to know more about its capabilities then please visit to my "JIMNY COOKBOOK SERIES" playlist of 22 videos.
Understand the Jimny fully before you actually buy it. I am here to help you. Thanks 🙏
@ Thank you 🙏
Good luck 🤞
1.2L puretech 110 vs K15 b isg which is better according to you
K15B - fits almost everywhere
Puretech-better for highway drive, middle and high rpm bands.
Nicely explained sir. Isiliye maine Maruti Fronx 4 cylinder NA engine choose kiya. Very refined engine
Yes very refined engine 😊👍
Thank you Pramod ji
bhai, kabhi fronx turbo try karna, only idle pe vibrations not in driving, and it pulls like mad. Thats y its expensive
That's the magic of turbo which definitely gives a kick after specific rpm range. This is all a matter of use case and certainly not enjoyable in low RPM than NA.
How about kylaq engine?
TSI engines are very much refined in their category and are better picks. Thanks
Mai pahaado ka rehne wala hun to mere liye 2 ya 4 me se konsa sensible hoga? maine suna h udhar jada power pull krne k liye 3 cylinder jaldi wear out ho jayega lekin 4 cylinder low end pe achha torque de payega and isliye wo jada reliable hoga? Ignis and Tiago me confuse hun. Plus Ignis me power to weight ratio b jada hoga shyd, bs family safety ratings ko lekar Tiago k jada favour me h
Aap Tata Punch bhi consider kar sakte hain, jo safe hai, beshak 3 cylinder hai but uska low end torque achha hai isliye pahado kay liye suitable hai. Thanks
It will be great if you can give the list of cars with 3 cylinder turbo charged engines and 4 cylinder NA engines.
Sure Sir, I will make a video on this. 🤝👍
Thank you for the video...eagerly waiting for this sirji🎉
Thank you very much Vikram Sahab! 😊🙏

Thats sad to hear Harender ji. BTW, do you have few cars in mind. Please them all so we can continue discussions. I would like to know your choices first. Do you belong to hills, where do you drive your car most of times?
@MashofreaksAuto
Bhai ji now I am confident about jimny,
After seeing your detailed research video, I will go for jimny
My journey route is only
Shimla - tatapani - kersog
If you have other options for me, sir you are free to suggest me,

Sir we would love to have a comparison on engines currently sale in india

3 cylinder Engine are best ❤❤❤😊
Yes, based on use case 👍
I have driven 3cyl NA petrol maruti (alto 0.8L), 3cyl NA petrol VW (polo 1.2L), 4cyl NA petrol honda city (1.5L ivtec), 4cyl NA petrol jimny (1.5L K15B), 4cyl TC diesel thar (1.5L); all in manual configuration, all driven extensively for long periods of time at a stretch~900km in one go including plains, and hilly regions and city traffic, and i have found that to the normal city driving person it does not matter whatever the engine type be, they need mileage and reliability and good service experience overall but for the enthusiast in me, i find 4cyl NA petrol engines the best overall, no nonsense, reliable engines be it any manufacturer
Ps everybody has their own usecase and not every car config comes with the choice of choosing your own engine, but i hope ICE never dies and we can all drive what we love🫡
Echo.... Very sensible message. Use Case is utmost! 👍
