3 cyl internal combustion engine fires 3 times to complete one cycle after every 120° angle ( one cylinder at a time) In 1.2 L engine each cylinder capacity will be 400 cc, On the other hand 4 cyl engine fires 4 times to complete one cycle after every 90° angle (one cylinder at a time) In 1.2 L engine each cylinder capacity will be 300 cc. So, 4 cyl engine vibrates less because energy distribution is equally divided after every 90° angle turn of engine crank instead of 120° angle as in 3cyl engine. 🙏 👍

As far as I have been through, my 3 cylinder Tiago was delivering mileage of 15 to 16 (city without AC] while as 4 cylinder fronx delivers 19kmpl. (City without AC) both figures tank to tank. I feel 3 cylinder engine always remains in stress and we are forced to drive it in higher RPM resulting in less mileage....
I have TATA Tiago & getting good mileage 26 to 27 km/L at speed of between 80 - 90 on highway. The Noise is very low due to the fact that I am using an add-on adhesive & XP95 petrol.
Fact is That Maruti reducing Engine power/ cylinders to compensate expenses incurred now on safety features and build quality to remain in competition with Tata and Mahindra which are growing day by day...
3 cylinder have vibrations, but it feels only at idle, otherwise u will never feel if its 3 or 4 cyl. While driving it same as 4 cyl. Hyundai/VW/SKODA 1.0 ltr is more powerfull and punchy then 1.5 NA and all suzuki 4cyl engines. They are quick to reach 0-100 then some 20 lakh rs cars.

3 cylinder engines are inherently dis balanced on both the transverse amd longitudional axis…4 cylinders are not…it is difficult to balance the 3 cylinder completly as it will add to the weight and complexity if the engine…but usually it depends ki how you have used counterweight to balance the engine…case in point Tata Revotron 3 cylinders very poor crank balancing…they try to reduce vibrations by using bushes and damping the mounts…as against the hyundia 1.0 turbo or the new z12 from maruti…they are better balanced and hence have lower nvh levels when you rev them…add to this The Revotron is just a poorly designed engine in general difficult to work on some of the critical components are hidden away from easy access so even a minor fault or correction needs extensive effort…vis a vis the korean and the japanese are much simpler to work with…i guess this is where their experience comes into play.
Except VW skoda indian market meh 3 cylinder turbo ake 5 saal seh jyada nahi hua hai. Time will tell how this new technology can sustain and advance in long run with indian brand makers. Jab tak hyundai aur suzuki India meh hai tab tak 4 cylinder engine Zinda rahega without a doubt

3 cylinder engine me vibration hoti hai bahut aur 5-6 saal baal badh jaati hai. Life bhi kam hai Gaadi ki. AC chala do to Gaadi rone lagti hai. Maruti is doing cost cutting only Sirf apne lie customer ke lie nahi. 😊

The reason to degrade engine quality is that even govt allowing them to produce low quality engine as scrap policy going on in country, why will companies aim durable engines.
Rupee has lost it value RBI and govt big failure a dollar cost is 84 Rs, we are fooled that oil import bill is high that is why high tax imposed on petrol, if rupee as currency will loss value then it is failure of govt and RBI, why people made to suffer with high tax on oil.

देखो जी 4 सिलेंडर का तो मुकाबला नहीं है, रोज रोज की टेंशन अच्छी नही हम 🚗 कार खरीदते है बड़ी मुश्किल से कार खरीद जब भी गाड़ी चलाओगे एंजॉय की जगह टेंशन क्यों लेनी रोज रोज रोना पड़ेगा पैसा खर्च करना है तो 4 सिलेंडर वाली कार खरीदे, कार कर देगी बेकार, बॉयकॉट कर दो कंपनी को 4 सिलेंडर देने पड़ेंगे कर लेकर रोना चाहते हो,
हायवे पर स्पीड ब्रेकर होतो गाडी का स्पीड कम होता हैं ... 3 सिलेंडर इंजिन के गाडी को फस्ट गियर मे हि उठाना पडता हैं ... सीटी में ये दिक्कत बहोत आती हैं , गाडी चलाते आदमी थक जाता हैं.... 4 सिलेंडर मे ओ दिक्कत नही आती ...
फियाट पालिओ 1.9 का 4 सिलेंडर डिझेल इंजन गाडी था चलाने मे मजा आता था ... ओ मजा अब कोई कार मे नही ...
