There is something so indescribably satisfying about initiating a huge fight in Doom and watching the kill count skyrocket even though you have yet to fire off a single shot.
@@DinnerForkTongue I don't agree just because, there are wads like Nuts3, where you start in the center, it's very similar but way way better than Nuts3. I think those are playable but Nuts3 in itself is too easy, those maps are so dumb it's just, learn where the spheres are and circledtrafe that's all you gotta do. I like the maps more like Sunder, NoSP2, NoSP3, HolyHell, etc, lots of monsters but way larger and much more variety to tackle them. Also i forgot the Nuts3 lookalike name
I love how deeply the mapper went into the hell theme, i see many maps which put a spin on the hell asthetic which is nice but sometimes just red fire does the trick

Yeah that lift definitely feels like an oversight of course it can be fixed relatively easily, but slight map oversights i personally like as it makes it more interesting when going to clear maps

I found a way to cheese the last fight by standing on a little ledge I found just off the edge of the main platform. They couldn't hit me while they infought. Interesting how we did slightly different strategies on this map and both beat it, that's what's cool about Doom.

Aside from the intrincate floor patterns and the circuit-running lights, this map is very visually lacking. Typical brown-and-red hell we've been seeing ad nauseam since Plutonia, repeated in Scythe and Speed of Doom and many many MANY wads in these 28+ years. I was more impressed by what LL did with Cocoa Puffs Breath, NGL. Luckily, where Abuse Me, Darling falls short in looks, it makes up for in gameplay. Top notch tricky/satisfying combat puzzles as we've come to expect, and the open air that has so far been rare in 10x10 pulls in full force to make Cacos an insidious menace. Nothing like eating lightning launched from above while you're focused on other stuff.
The last fight would be a cheeseball if you ran back to the start of the platforms, but on the other hand, you'd have plenty of in-fighting entertainment.
You would have to make it all the way back across the platforms while dodging rev missiles and cyber rockets. I've only seen one person do it and that was Killer5.
What an interesting map. This MIDI fits pretty well with this one. Cyber Demons can be troublesome at times. I do like this. Just a note here: Playing this game too much makes you Face Rocket yourself alot of times LOL! 😆

This map reminded me a lot of The Hag's Finger from Sunder. From the aesthetic to the fights, this is so far my favorite map in the wad.

It's actually from Killer7, despite being acgrest fit for Heretic or Hexen.
They chose the perfect skybox for this map. I am now excited what kind of cool map they would have for the final map.

i thought it was a beautiful sunder tribute with the use of stripy high-contrast walls and elaborate floor patterns
