I half agree. This would have been a really amazing show if it was its own thing, but trying to screw with Sailor Moon was its problem. Sailor Moon is perfect the way it is, and should be left as so. But if Toon Makers played their cards right they could have a made a really cool Sailor Moon like show with a similar theme, with the live action to animation, etc. Would have been really cool and I'm sure I would have loved watching it growing up. It's a shame they didn't just do their own thing after the project was canned, but I'm guessing it was too costly either way.

I'm really not sure how I feel about this abandoned unproduced series becoming such a meme, lately. I just hope this doesn't reach the level of memetic cultural osmosis, as so many things like this do, to the point that people actually end up convincing themselves this sounded like it had potential or that they wished it could have been a real thing. We all, really need to strongly remember that this was hilarious because it was awful, and that it's a meme soley because of how stupid and bizarre it is, not that anyone should want to see it or start some actual "lost media hunt" for it, or spawn some kind of petition to get this cancer actually made. I know how these well-intentioned memes end up, after they get traction and become popular in the mainsteam. We should remember to laugh at it for the right reasons and not get carried away. This is one of the last things on earth that needs any sort of unironic revival or fan-made project. Remember people, we're here to laugh at this, not with it.
Well you have a right to your opinion and I respect that. However, for the time it was pitched, this was actually a completely justified idea. Anime was not mainstream, and got poor timeslots on tv. Power rangers was huge and they wanted a female oriented counterpart. Proof of concepts are not what you would see in the final product anyway. They are low budget "concepts". Had it been accepted, many changes would still be made. And there has been a lost media hunt for it, many people want to see it, and there are people (including me) interested in fanmade projects. While I agree some of it is quite laughable, and did not age well, the idea wasn't so bad for the time. Dic still did a fun job with the dub tho, especially with the custom music. Very nice
