    I sent this to my wife who has a M3 and hates the changes from the update. Your video helped us both. Another great thing about Tesla is how we all try to help one another. Thx

      Oh good!!!!! That makes me so happy! I’m here for the ladies, to break it down in ways we can understand 😂 yes, I agree 💯 even in all my videos people will teach me things in the comments or teach each other. I absolutely love everything about the TESLA community. If only the rest of the world helped each other as much as we do:)

    Sara: You have risen to be my "Tesla teacher". I haven't found anyone else who's unleashed so many pointers on our latest update. Since Tesla doesn't have a dept of Education (yet), you
    do admirable job! Thanks to Jasper... and others for discovering more features...

    I can't believe I watched from start to finish. Thank you for making this video. I ordered my 2022 Model 3 Performance last Monday and it said I had 3 months to wait and then this morning it says June 6th to July 4th. I was told it's because I bought the Red exterior with the White interior plus the Performance model that my production was going to move fast versus the other models that people have to wait for until 2023. I would have just bought the original car I really wanted and that was a new BMW M3 Competition but this thing is $35,000 cheaper, a hair faster and I don't have to spend $7.00 + per gallon here in Southern California. Anyway, you made the video so smooth for me anyway and I like your tone, your pitch/delivery of what could be done and your experiences. Though I am a few weeks away from getting my new ride, I have drowned myself in Tesla videos and out of the 10 or so videos I have watched, you by far are the best. You obviously exemplify professionalism in every sense of the word. ~DC

    These were great in-depth tips. I haven't seen anyone do them so concise. I'm an IT guy and when we're trying to instruct employees I do this. I go through the process myself and document the steps. In my case I take screenshots along the way as if I'm putting together a user manual. Video instructions like yours will be a big help as a potential new Tesla owner. I'll certainly refer back to them in June when I take delivery. Thanks...!!

    • @SaraJAwesome
      @SaraJAwesome  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you so so much! I figured out over 90% of this stuff on my own by trial and error. I don’t watch other peoples videos hardly ever. And the user manual wasn’t updated yet. So I really appreciate you noticing. And that is EXACTLY how I do it too! Pictures step by step and notes! Then video! I do it at work to for surgery. This is an actual self made user manual. And it was a lot of work and a lot of mistakes to figure it out! 💚

    Great review. I have found my best way to change fan speed with VC is using the words "set" and "at". For example "set fan speed at seven". With different vernacular, I'd get all sorts of speeds.

      @SaraJAwesome  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh my gosh, I’m so happy I was able to help you get used to it!!!! I mean I love 90% of the update. But this was a hard video to make for sure. Trying to figure everything out on my own. The only things I learned from someone else were the two voice commands from the two different Johns. The rest took me about 2 weeks to figure it all out. So I understand. Then the tire pressure I didn’t get it figured out 100 until the night was editing and realized I did it wrong the first 3 times. Sigh. It was a huge update and the user manual was not updated with it. But we made it, Patti! And overall, I am in love and I hope you can enjoy it a lot more now. I didn’t even cover half the stuff! Just the things that people specifically asked me about that they couldn’t figure out. Insane! Thanks for your support! Have a great week!

    Sweet, thanks for the update! I love getting the chance to see the menus to get a preview of what I will see on my delivery day (getting closer, maybe March!). I keep having to fix things on my 2009 Murano, (replaced the A/C compressor, a 12 v battery, now an alternator) and I keep thinking “Gaaa, I could have bought neat accessories for my new Model Y instead!” At least my Subaru still works, so I’m keeping that one forever. I’m hoping the Model Y will go 10 years without any major repairs. Thanks for showing the details and minor upkeep issues, it’s really helpful. When delivery day gets down to “weeks away”, I’m going to get that giddy feeling I used to get as a kid waiting for Chrismas! Actually, this IS my Christmas present, but it’s a few months late. Nice tutorial. I was unaware of "save that". I have a tip for you. I had to reset my cellphone (reset cell provider, wifi and Bluetooth). While the phone continued to worked as a key to get into the car, Bluetooth was no longer connected for phone calls, messages, contacts etc. I had to go into the Bluetooth settings and "forget" my phone (even doing this, the phone continues to work as a key). I then added it back as a new Bluetooth device. That worked. Kind of an obscure tip, but one that will drive one crazy if you have this problem.

    • @SaraJAwesome
      @SaraJAwesome  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, Scott!!! And yes, that’s very good advice on the auto-focus. Unfortunately, I use my iPhone to film… and it doesn’t have the option to turn autofocus off. Ugh. I’ve tried real video cameras, but to be honest I returned them because it’s just so easy and a lot less time consuming to record with my phone and airdrop the videos to my MacBook. Perhaps one day if I ever get big enough to have a camera crew I will get a real camera 🎥 😂 But seriously, thank you. Any and all advice and constructive criticism is ALWAYS welcome here. Have a great week!

    I’ve learned from Kim Java that you can say “Turn on three strips of bacon for the passenger seat” if you’re worried about saying “butt” in front of your kids. You can also change it up to say one strip or 2 strips of bacon and also you can use it for driver seat or passenger seat. Not sure about the rear seat heaters coz I don’t have mines activated. Lol!

Whilst this gave me some insight, and I was concentrating, I couldnt help but notice how much you show that massive diamond ring in the way of the tablet. I say this because you use your left hand to point to the screen not your right which surely must be less comfortable? Glad you like it, lol. People used to talk about how great it was that their Tesla got better over time via OTA updates. Now your Tesla can get WORSE via OTA update. Not to worry. Elon says "nearly all input is bad". Not sure how that addresses these software bungles, but that was his response to a tweet suggesting improvements. Great video, Sara. Thanks for the tips.

    • @SaraJAwesome
      @SaraJAwesome  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      First off, thank you so much. I worked really hard on this one. I actually love the update. I love about 90% of it. The other 10% I just preferred stuff the way it was before. I definitely respectfully disagree that car got worse with this update. I am in love with the blind spot cameras, light show (which I’ve seen but haven’t used), the ability to reset normal tire pressures for people with aftermarket tires.. Etc. There are so many changes in the holiday updates there’s is no way to make everyone happy. It’s literally impossible. But the fact that TESLA tries to continuously evolve our cars for the better.. that’s amazing. My other cars just sit there and get older and more boring and lose their value (except the whole chip shortage thing they’re having good resale value for now). Our TESLAs also learn and actually do get better over time which is insane. Mine actually drives better than when I got it a year ago. That’s mind blowing. I’m definitely not saying people have to like it, all feedback is good feedback whether it’s negative or positive in my opinion. ❤️

    Put HVAC on Auto, then everything is on Auto. Say, the fan is too loud, so you change it, or touch Auto button to manual. At this point, the recir. button is still on Auto. If the recir. button is faded out either faded blue or faded outline, then it is running Auto. It will automatically switch on/off the recir. If you touch the recir. button either on or off, then the faded color will become normal color, which means manual mode, and it will not switch on/off the recir automatically.
    Personally, I like HVAC on manual mode, except the recir. button. It even works well on the Camp mode. Keep the recir in Auto, then it will pull in fresh air time to time, and saved battery energy too.

    so Tesla does not provide an updated voice commands list, users are expected to repeatedly guess until they luck upon the proper wording? Bad Tesla. -- I can easily discover what Tesla users are complaining about with UI changes via youtube; apparently Tesla chooses to ignore drivers' opinions of their cars' UI. What genius at Tesla decided to make the regeneration/discharging representation line razor thin.

    • @SaraJAwesome
      @SaraJAwesome  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have had people tell me and send me voice command lists but I couldn’t open them because they were links. But they were made by drivers, not Tesla. I am not aware of a readily available list distributed by Tesla. But I just tweeted does Tesla have a voice command list I don’t know about. So we shall see! I don’t personally have a major problem with the update. I love 90% of it. Just not 100%. But a lot of people don’t like change. And I get it. But I think it’s great that Tesla is always updating trying to make things better and newer. And if something really sucks they’ll change it later I’m sure. I personally love it. But that doesn’t mean I haven’t worked my butt off trying to figure it all out on my own with no help. I did. Some things were easy some things were ridiculous. I didn’t figure out tire pressure until last night at 9:30 pm. I shot the original video 2 weeks ago . I had to reshoot and figure out the tire pressure thing last minute. I thought I had it the first and second shoot but I didn’t.. so yeah. Definitely glass half empty/ half full situation.

    Excellent video. As expected, I learned a couple new options. I usually leave the wipers on auto, but when I need to do a single swipe (usually to placate my girlfriend when it's drizzling and I'm not bothered yet), I didn't know the voice command would work to return it "auto". So that's helpful. The other was the text screen that's now available. I was occasionally annoyed when I didn't get to a text message fast enough (that pesky driving aways gets in the way) and the message disappeared. Now I know I can still get to it. The one option I would appreciate for text would be to reply all when I get a group text. When I reply now to a group text (usually my brother and sister...about my mom 😊) it only goes to whoever sent the message and not both. Didn't realize that for a while. So that would be a good option.
    Well worth the wait. Seeing your notebook, that was clearly a lot of work. I (we) really appreciate the research you do. So thanks. Good luck with the drivers training. With your large tribe you're gonna get pretty good at it. Maybe another side hustle?? Probably too stressful. I only had to survive 2 of my own.

      Hahahahaha! I think people just need to know what they’re getting themselves into when they buy this car. It’s is the definition of evolution and innovation. My husband is 34 and he hates it! He likes knobs and buttons and likes things to be EXACTLY the same all the time. He does not like change AT ALL. Me on the other hand, I’ll walk into a new restaurant and not know what to order and tell the waiter to surprise me. I love change, I get bored easily. I even saw another Tesla driver on the road and it was an elderly Lady in her 80’s probably and she waved at me and I waived back excitedly , she obviously adored her Tesla and was very proud. I think it’s just a mindset maybe. But I also think we learn to adapt too, and whether some of us like it or not eventually we will get used to change itself with this car. We also need to remember not everything is good for everyone and that’s okay, it’s also why Tesla keeps trying to make things better and better for everyone. But nothing is perfect.

    I think the new blind spot update is a terrible solution, and, I think it's dangerous. So, if you want to change lanes to the LEFT you have to look away from the road and DOWN, and, to the RIGHT? How does that make any sense? If you want him to be a safe driver teach him how to properly adjust the side view mirrors, show him the videos. Learning that was a game changer for me. Note: I didn't mean to be rude but this issue triggers my angry. Thanks for the video, the hints are really helpful. I don't care for V11 at all and your finessing some of the questionable choice by saying things are in a "folder" was generous.

    • @SaraJAwesome
      @SaraJAwesome  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh you misunderstood, MY KIDS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO USE THE CAMERA!!!! I use the camera from the passenger seat and make them use ONLY MIRRORS. ;) They’re learning old school. Otherwise they’ll be terrible drivers and rely on that. Now me using it is a different story. I absolutely ADORE the blind spot cameras. Now before when it was just a cartoon car on the screen I never trusted it. And on other cars if it’s just the blind spot arrow light on the mirror warning you or something I never trust that stuff. I only trust this because it’s a live camera. It did take me some time to get used to, but now I use it constantly every time and I love it. I always look in mirrors first, but then I look at the camera while I’m getting over if there’s not any traffic. It’s not for everyone, and that’s totally fine. All of us function in different ways and our eye hand coordination and eyesight is different. So if you hate it and I love it that’s okay in my opinion. Yeah, I mean I love 90% of the update. But not 💯 and I think that’s okay too. It’s so much stuff and so many different people it’s impossible to make everyone happy. And inevitably it will change again anyway. And yes, haha I referred or it as folders again the video that I just released 7 minutes ago! Be sure to watch that one! I came up with 72 voice commands just for the climate so you can not reach over and screw with the screen while driving! Thanks for your support! I appreciate you! Oh and you didn’t come off as rude;) it’s fine.

      It really did! I wasn’t lying! And it was unexpected. I wasn’t a TESLA fan until I took delivery. Thanks for checking out my other videos! One of my favorites is a mechanics daughters story. It shows who I really am 😂

    4th method of ultra hard reset is to remove the 12volt battery connection for 30 seconds or upto 5mins then reconnect and power on the screen

      ✅✅✅👆👆👆Another great tip! Yes. Others have told me how to do this, but I don’t know it well enough to explain it to others yet. Eventually when I know what I’m doing for sure I’ll probably do a video of the process. Have you done it?

    Perhaps what could happen is you can get a list of the updates, and choose the one's you want to implement, I understand this could only happen to a point because somethings won't work because it needs to work in conjunction with another part of the app , good to see you back gorgeous 😊.

      Unfortunately I think that would not be compatible with huge software updates. It would be nice though.

    On my MX, seat heaters can be controlled by voice command ' driver seat level 1/2/3', 'passenger seat level 1/2/3' or 'rear left/right/middle seat level 1/2/3;
