This is also India's first aircraft ever with Rolls Royce engines. Indian airlines have always opted for alternative engines. The 744s had Pratt-Whitney, the 777s and 787s had GE. This is the first Indian RR plane.

You cannot say that so early...lets see how TATA handles criticism if any after they receive more aircrafts and start flying them international. Also I am bit concerned about appointment of Manish Uppal as The Chief of Flight operation in AIR INDIA his past records are not good. He was earlier in AIR ASIA INDIA and was exposed by A very Popular TH-camr Flying Beast ( Real name GAURAV TANEJA )who was a Captain in INDIGO for 11 years before moving to AIR ASIA INDIA. Gaurav Revealed that the Airline used to force PILOTS to do FLAP 3 landing 98% of times in order to save fuel....which used to become very dangerous in Airports like Guhwati , Kozhikode....etc
Even after reporting multiple times MANISH UPPAL didn't took any action for which Gaurav Taneja reported to DGCA and when MANISH UPPAL and AIR ASIA came top knew about this they fired Gaurav Tanja after which he posted a video on his channel which became viral. AIR ASIA Filed 10cr (USD 1.3 Million) Law suit against him. After a few days Kozhikode accident took place And DGCA finally conducted unplanned audit in multiple airlines and Guess what!!!
DGCA found Multiple lapses in Operations of AIR ASIA INDIA and it suspended Manish Uppal from position of Chief of Flight Operations.....makking it first time in History of India that DGCA suspended any Airline Officer on basis of AUDIT and Complaint.
Yet After a Year AIR INDIA decided to hire MANISH UPPAL as Chief of Flight Operations😑😑

Haha we Indians won't. We have a serious problem with keeping public spaces clean. We have a 'its not my job' kinda attitude and many treat flight attendants like servants who are expected to clean after them. Until this rotten mentality is improved neither India nor Indian airplanes can be clean.

This is truely a unique airplane compared to AI's older fleet. Now I understand, why they delayed the first A350's delivery, so they could showcase some of their newer seats with minor touch of aeroflot's interiors. I really love the Flight crew's uniform and how Manish Malhotra has designed them so well keeping in mind the comfort that it would provide to both male & female crew. Flight meals looked stunning as always catering out of Mumbai & Bengaluru is top notch. Regardless of minor differences, I feel that Air India is on the right track to come out as a world class airline like how it was in the early 1970s or 80s and I hope they will preserve their interiors of their new aircraft for coming years and also refurbish some of their current older B777s or B787s.

As a school kid studying abroad, I used to travel back on holidays on Air Indias B707. It had the reputation then that Emirates has today. With its welcoming Maharajah (which i hope will be restored again) to gracious hostesses etc it was a great airline. Then most airlines were pretty good as flying was a class act, where men wore suits and women were all coiffed up too. I recall we flew in our school blazers.

Imagine if every country treated the airline carrying their name like Dubai treats Emirates and Etihad.
The A350 is a fantastic airplane. In the 1 - 2 - 1 configuration, the business class is perfect.
4:56 a Window seat with the console between you and the aisle is nice and cozy -giving you very good seclusion.
The only problem I experienced in the A350 business class is people snoring. Other than that, fantastic ride.

My family took a risk recently took Air India to New Delhi from JFK. The talk around all the improvements TATA had been doing was one of the reasons they took the risk. The flight was a disaster. The bathrooms were filthy and the staff were exhausted and rude. Delays during departure and delays in getting bags. I am not sure where these improvements are being made.

The service still from the old crews but seems they seemed to up the game probably, my critic about the new livery which was the old one when they changed to old livery was the absence of the painted windows it marked as something traditionally Indian. I have doubt very expensive to paint. Great video! At least think the uniforms reflect the new airline and colors. But I am happy to see you made this video.

Josh, I was also a passenger on this same flight from Mumbai to Chennai. You should have mentioned that the flight was an hour late and the snack service was so delayed in Economy that they were scrambling to collect the garbage when the wheels touched down in Chennai 90m later. Plus, neither the Captain nor crew bothered to explain or apologize for the delay.
And my return flight from Chennai to Mumbai two days later, on Air India again, was delayed too - but this time at least there was an apology after the flight took off.
