Josh I love your channel and to say the Iranian people are great is wonderfull but Iran as a country is terrible! Very poor human rights history. Women have no rights at all and if wearing shorts gets you told off then it's a solid NOPE from me.
I have an Iranian business acquaintance with whom I’ve done business with for over 20 years here in Texas. Not only is he one of the nicest gentlemen I have ever met, his word is his absolute bond.
I visited Iran in 1979 with my Iranian college friends. We are still friends to this day and I am considered Uncle to his children who write to me. Thank you Josh for this: the Iranian people that I met and those that I have now known for years - are the kindest, most joyful and soul minded people. I was actually due to move to Iran to teach English and sadly things changed in a short period of time. With friends we visted Charlus, the Caspian Sea and what was then Bandar e Phlavi. I went to the Mosque there for prayers. I respectfully sat at the back during prayers. Upon conclusion - the most amazing event as people came up to me and greeted me and thanked me for the honor of my presence at thier Mosque. Truly a memory I will never forget. I was told that the Quran holds that those to whom a visitor may come are charged with their safety. This is the Quran that I know and respect. Throughout my time, the warmth of welcome was one that has never been matched. I can see all the faces to this day. MY friend Abdullah and I have now been friends since 1975...some 47 years. I hope to one day travel back to a country that I feel very connected to on many levels. Hard to describe. Soulful. To visit and pay respects to Abdullah brother who passed away...I taught him English back in the day in Leeds. UK. Bless his soul. I hope to seek out Mahan Air...and as I am a bit older now and retired...certainly a bucket list hpoe for me. I pulled out the photos from the Caspina Sea...and I will never forget. Thank you Josh for this video. I so enjoyed seeing your excitement. Stay safe and happy travels. Farsi baladam. Love to all. xxxx

Dear Rashed, thank you for your kind words. Unfortunately the shiet mullahs regime in my country is very intolerant against all & everyone. It demands total submission to their way of thinking & nothing else. It actually is a tyrannical regime which has no problem committing the worst criminal activities & torture not only against it's own fellow country women, children & men, but ANYONE who they feel is an obstacle to their power hungry regime.
Iran is a country I always wanted to visit. I hear the people are so hospitable & incredibly welcoming. I’ve only ever seen pictures of Tehran but it looks stunning. It’s rich history I’m dying to explore. Btw the business class interior reminds me of western airline business class in the 80’s. Would have loved to have seen economy class as thats the only part I could afford. Great vid Josh. I’m off to watch the one on Iran Air now,
To be honest I believe 99% of all humans in the world are nice. Its just the governments and political issues that makes the world feels unsafe but thats not true. I remember one could fly Mahan Air from Germany via Tehran to Bangkok years ago. I´d fly with them to SOA immediatelly if reasonable priced and possible again. Its a safe and good airline. Don´t see any issues and obviously everywhere in the world there are people sharing the same hobby and interests when it comes to aviation. Thus: 👍

Wonderful review Josh. This is a nice review Josh. When everyone is in a great mood like that, it just makes the travel experience so much more enjoyable and less stressful. 19:26 Exactly right mate. I agree with that message 100%. Also, almost all media have their agenda that they want to push. Some of the nicest people I have met were from that part of the world.
This is without a doubt a bucket list airline for me. The fact that that A310 is 32 years old and in immaculate condition is amazing! Especially considering it is heavily sanctioned, it shows how much Mayan Air is committed to an excellent passenger experience!
Yes, I was thinking the same. When I flew the 310 the first time I was immediately struck by the different sound of an Airbus (they were GM Engines) to the Boeing. This was probably back in the 80s. Hearing the sound here it brought back old memories. I flew so on many SAA 310. The aircraft is actually super spacious and airy.
Josh , this is a great video and what you say about the people is very true. I spent my childhood in Iran as an expat in the 1970’s - yes I’m old. We travelled alot of the beautiful country, including the chance to dip my toes in the Caspian sea. Iran has alot of history and some amazing architecture. Maybe one day I will get the chance to go back and re-live my childhood. Thank you for what you do 😊
The last and only time i've ever tried an Airbus 310 was in the early 90s on Grand Air Philippines. It was new then and did not last long in operation. You are so lucky that you're able to try one, still in good condition with Mahan Air!✈👍
Iranian aircraft are generally super clean in and out. The only issue with flying on board one is that as soon as the landing gear touches down everyone, and I mean every single passenger will stand up and start gathering their stuff to exit. Never changes.
That's what I heard about Iranians, that they are friendly and open-minded people unlikely to the gouverment. Never heard about Mahan Air but it seems really to be a good airline and I really enjoyed this video!
A friend of mine was a driver for members of their Olympic team in Australia. Said the same, he was a bit nervous with the first trip, but was quickly put at ease by their friendly nature.
Absolutely loved this video! Never heard of Mahan Airlines till today and would love to visit Iran..(when they lift the covid jab restriction)...fascinating country..10/10 Josh!
Thank you Josh for another wonderful adventure. As a United States citizen I could not imagine travelling to Iran. In the current political enviroment. I do agree with you. The government of Iran does not reflect on the people of the country. They truly seemed wonderful. Can't wait for the next episode. Thanks again Josh.
It’s the government that’s bad, not the people, stop sanctioning the people, sanction the leaders, the leaders take away the rights of everyone and threaten other countries, not the people, in no way would it affect nato badly if an Iranian airline got a few new planes.
On the contrary from what I can see the Iranian airport, hotel all the way to customer service and business class are five star quality compared to most European airlines I know!
Josh, beautiful video and also beautiful people,I too believed the media about Iran but your video has certainly opened my eyes so well done young man.....Peter.
Old planes, specially those maintained by Iranian airlines are generally quite safe. They maintain them well despite their age. But flying to Iran is definitely a high risk thing to do
@@arshiaseyyedshakeri890 Well, it's unsafe for the western spies. Go there as a tourist no problem. I've been there few times, they suspected me for espionage but we must consider that cause Iran heavily got targeted by the westerners.
Hi Josh I'm from Australia and you Reilly changed my mind on Iran the people are friendly polite. The only thing I know of Iran is the news and the movie ( not without my daughter) thank you for educating me, to give you an upgrade the food just kept coming. One day I may go to Iran thank you for this video 🇦🇺
Lived in Iran in '77 & '78. Yes, it was a very different time but I suspect the people are every bit as warm and friendly now as they were then. Watched your return trip on Iran Air earlier this morning and I must admit, it was very much the same back in the late 70s albeit, we flew a 727 from Isfahan to Tehran as things were the beginning stages of unravel politically. We spent just one night in a hotel closer to the airport and were awakened to gunfire in the early morning hours with my father being quite motivated to get us home. If I remember correctly, we flew a KLM 747 to JFK? A further note about the state of affairs in Iran, imagine being sanctioned to the extent these people have been for so many years? Especially after fighting a horrific war with Iraq all throughout the 80s and with such huge loss of life? Imagine further that the only reason the sanctions were put in place is because the 'new' Iranian government refused to play ball with the US gov on oil profits as they finally got tired of being told what they would do, when they would do it and with whom they were allowed to associate with? Yes, it's much, much deeper than that and the history of the Iranian people being either subjugated or enslaved by their neighbors or the West has been long known. The country itself has immense historical and cultural value, not to mention its resources. The people of Iran were incredibly warm and inviting when I lived there. It's truly a shame that due to current political and religious ideology differences, how western media has portrayed Iran since 1979, AND the way in which Iran's resources were exploited by the West during the 20th century, very few 'outsiders' get to experience this land of incredible history and culture.
Cool story man! I lived there in 1975 as 10 year old (persian dad american mom)...i spoke no farsi but went to a persian school...that was a trip! The people were incredible and I enjoyed my time there. Summers in the Caspian sea, skiing in the mountains, let me tell you about the food...oh boy!!! Even as a kid I sensed growing anti american feelings growing, probably why we came back to the states. I was pretty depressed when I came back and had to readjust to American life as a young teen...but it all worked out.
"obviously I'm not Noel Phillips so I don't get too excited about loo reviews" 😆. Love the banter between you lot. Really enjoyed the Africa Collab. Keep up the great work
Iran has beautiful people no doubt. The government and religion not so much. I wish Iran freedom because they deserve it. It is amazing how well they take care of their airbuses despite restrictions, the world could learn from their hospitality and ability to take care of what is theirs.
Thanks Josh! It was a beautiful aircraft and I was very surprised at how well maintained it was! I love your videos and your laugh! Always puts a smile on my face when I need one! Safe travels!
As a life long Av geek, I would love to see Iran’s air fleets. I hope it gets easier for an American passport holder to visit without risks. Thank you for the coverage!
Hi Josh! This is the first time I commented on a vid of yours (but I've been a subscriber for far longer). I liked this vid and do agree w/ your sentiments about Iran and that kind of situation. I understand. However, it's not the mainstream news media that bears the problem alone. The surge on the global stage of social media bears the brunt of the bigger problem. The irony won't be lost on you that you're part of it. Still, I'm so glad and happy that you're able to keep on doing what you love to do and letting your audience share your "adventures". Keep Smiling always!👌😉👍
Inshallah. Don't be fooled by Western propaganda against islamic countries. Iranian people enjoy liberty much more than an average American in their surveillance state.
I found this video just beautiful. Being recognised or not, I feel most of your viewers love watching your content for the excitement and discovery of the journey rather than for a review of the airline! Very exciting, I’m looking forward to what is coming up in Iran!!

This is without a doubt a bucket list airline for me. The fact that that A310 is 32 years old and in immaculate condition is amazing! Especially considering it is heavily sanctioned, it shows how much Mayan Air is committed to an excellent passenger experience!
OMG, I can't believe it is in such good shape!
That's a lovely noise from those engines and it really looks like a great experience. So cool to see Mahan still operates these A310.
The Persian/Iranian people are the most loving, warm human beings I ever met. You’ll never know what hospitality is till you meet a Persian.
Thanks 🥶👍
Iran is really a beautiful country especially the people! Next time i'll fly with Mahan Air. Last time I went to Iran I flew with Salam Air.
Iran is wonderful: people, culture, food, nature. Can’t wait to go back
Great video. Thanks Cahill
Iranian aircraft are generally super clean in and out. The only issue with flying on board one is that as soon as the landing gear touches down everyone, and I mean every single passenger will stand up and start gathering their stuff to exit. Never changes.
Very good Josh for saying the truth about iran 👏🏻❤️
As a KLM air attendant for a long time I didn't really like to work on an Airbus. My all time favorite will remain the Boeing 747-200!
Iran is an amazing country and the people so welcoming and humble . Truly truly great country people should visit
I absolutely loved this review! You are so right about the Iranian people. They are really friendly and hospitable.
Absolutely loved this video! Never heard of Mahan Airlines till today and would love to visit Iran..(when they lift the covid jab restriction)...fascinating country..10/10 Josh!
It's lifted now. Come over?
What I love about you is how you say the right things. Without caring about what anyone else would say / think about you.
Are you really this ignorant to not understand why Iran despises america??? Seriously?? Go read a history book smh.
Some of my good friends are Iranians while one of my best mentors is also from Iran. Iran or Persia is a lovely country and people.
Sanctions have proven Iran is a sophisticated, clean and hard working Country and peoples.
It’s the government that’s bad, not the people, stop sanctioning the people, sanction the leaders, the leaders take away the rights of everyone and threaten other countries, not the people, in no way would it affect nato badly if an Iranian airline got a few new planes.
The Iranian station manager for Mahan Air is amazing. So welcoming and genuine!
That station manager was so nice! I can't wait to see more of your adventures from Iran.
On the contrary from what I can see the Iranian airport, hotel all the way to customer service and business class are five star quality compared to most European airlines I know!
Such an underrated country. Keep flying happily and safely and thanks for your work and effort
The brave women of Iran are sacrificing their lives on the streets against oppression and justice. Please be our voice #mahsaamini
A rare treat. Thanks Josh.
Josh, beautiful video and also beautiful people,I too believed the media about Iran but your video has certainly opened my eyes so well done young man.....Peter.
Old planes, specially those maintained by Iranian airlines are generally quite safe. They maintain them well despite their age. But flying to Iran is definitely a high risk thing to do
und dann gehst du nach Ägypten und in andere arabische Länder
@@arshiaseyyedshakeri890 Well, it's unsafe for the western spies. Go there as a tourist no problem. I've been there few times, they suspected me for espionage but we must consider that cause Iran heavily got targeted by the westerners.
I was in Iran in June it was one best vacation I ever had you don't believe me asked Josh !😊
My wife is from Iran!!! I love the people of Iran and the food is fantastic!!!!!!!
Why don't you preach all that to your government my friend?
Always find Iran a very nice country with excellent people I mean.😊
Josh, you rocked this review! Great look at Mahan and the pleasant staff. Even the loo review was special! 😃 ✈️
hoping to get to Iran next year and fly one of their airlines!
"obviously I'm not Noel Phillips so I don't get too excited about loo reviews" 😆. Love the banter between you lot. Really enjoyed the Africa Collab. Keep up the great work
I visit Iran 2018 and they are very friendly to foreigers and know how to party as well...
Early!! Also your my favourite unbiased travel blogger along with Noel Phillips!
Keep up the amazing content!!
Thanks a lot!
I think it's really cool that you listened to your viewers and did a collab with Noel. It was a blast watching the videos! Thank You! 💥
As a life long Av geek, I would love to see Iran’s air fleets. I hope it gets easier for an American passport holder to visit without risks. Thank you for the coverage!
You can visit on an authorized tour. Plus it is as super-safe country!
Iran's air fleet is heavily sanctioned. You wouldn't want to fly on any Iranian airlines. They can't get airplane parts like other airlines.
Yes, I’m half Iranian and I can say that the people of iran are very welcoming. It’s just the government that are unkind.
Keep Smiling always!👌😉👍
mahan air is amazing. i always loved middle eastern airlines and middle eastern people.
I really hope that the Iranian people will experience real liberty!!! What an even greater country this could be....
Iran does have liberty. I went there in June, they don't even enforce the hijab law anymore!!!
Whats real liberty? The madness of capitalism that USA brings?
Inshallah. Don't be fooled by Western propaganda against islamic countries. Iranian people enjoy liberty much more than an average American in their surveillance state.
Thx my brother
I know some Iranians here in Dublin, Ireland and they are super friendly and good fun folks! their food also is amazing!
I found this video just beautiful. Being recognised or not, I feel most of your viewers love watching your content for the excitement and discovery of the journey rather than for a review of the airline! Very exciting, I’m looking forward to what is coming up in Iran!!
What lovely hospitable people, definitely changed my perception of Iran
Great video! I recommend to travel on some of the lesser known airlines in the Pacific and to try Jetstar’s new A321Neo-currently it only flies from Melbourne to Cairns. Also Aircalin’s new A330neo as i have not seen any reviews of it on TH-cam. Hello from Sydney👋🇦🇺
Could try Air Solomons, Air Kiribati, Fiji Airways, Air Tahiti Nui etc etc
I'm guessing he doesn't have a big enough fan base in this region.
Incredible Josh! That A310 looked so clean and way more up to date than imagined for such an old plane! Impressive hospitality and great to see they went the extra mile and give you most memorable trip. Looking forward to seeing more videos from Iran. Safe travels
Josh please try Saudia they have really improved their business and economy so please try them again
I have them booked for next month :)
@@JoshCahill oh great where you flying to or will you have to keep it a surprise which cabins will you be using
Don't you know that Iran had the strongest and biggest airline in the world 45 years ago......❤
its sad to see such amazing airlines trapped by govt issues. been watching your videos since the Malawi one as im from malawi. amazing reviews keep up the good work.
Did you know that this airline belongs to a terrorist organization??
As a British national, its virtually impossible for me to visit Iran (which I've wanted to do for 20yrs). The mug would be a fabulous souvenir that helps get me closer to where I want to go
You can ! But american , birtish , canadian should travel to iran with goverment tour guide
