Morning Sun is my favorite mod at the moment, but I still hope someone makes a Mongol Invasion mod for this game as well, it seems fitting for the Rise of the Samurai DLC
It’s peak total war, total war has been down hill after this game. Shogun 2 was the last of the create total war games we know. Rome 2 was good but lack so much from the previous total wars. Attila was okay but the setting didn’t really take for total war fans. Everything after Attila was crap until warhammer 3…
@@MrMusicboy91 I think that three kingdoms wasn't bad if you love chinese history and you know the story of the three kingdoms. But yes i agree with you too. What three kingdoms lacked was agents and agent videos.
master of strategy was really awesome to play, had two amazing 70+ hour campaigns with amazing progression. Early game is very difficult and tactical but once you have a decent footing things really go into full swing and by the time of realm divide its full scale classic total war but it feels so much more earned than in vanilla. Also terminator if your interested in revisiting pharoh dynasties theres a really cool mod in development very similar to master of startegy thats reworking so many things to make the game slower, strategic and immersive. Its called AGONY and so far theyve added: - population mechanic with different roles -generals holding faction banner in campaign (like shogun 2) -combat overhual - seasonal and weather effects on campaign -graphics changes to make it look more realistic - a genuinely really interesting brand new recruitment system where its more about developing military infastructure than specific units. -overhauled ui to be more minimal and less warhammer level ui bloat -overhualed outpost mechanics you should check it out and thank you once again for putting master of strategy on my radar a few months ago!
Really hope they bring back campaign map faction banners in future historic TW’s. I loved the Warhammers, but _waaay_ too much influence from them has leaked into the historic side (especially character/leader focus instead of faction and UI building icons).
Master of strategy is my favorite, I love how you need special resources to recruit elite units. And the building system in general, I really like its added complexity
Last Alliance Mod is absolutely the Best mod ive ever played making Shogun 2 a 10/10 game worth 50 dollars if sold today. The modder Sara Temer has been polishing and fine-tuning this Mod for a decade now. Also, incredibly all the lore of the Second age from the Tolkien books is accurate making this mod even more wonderful for those who have read the books and noticed this extra richness. The battle mechanics and unit rosters are all unique for each of the 20 different factions giving you an endless amount of replayability. The battlefield itself is much better than the original Shogun 2 AI and quite challenging. The Map has been expanded multiple times and you truly appreciate the vast amount of distances between cultures. Masterful work has been accomplished.
I really wish Master of Strategy was still updated. There’s just one guy trying to make an encyclopedia for it, and also tweaked some of the buildings so you can get gold upgrades, who isn’t even the original modder.
@ It still works great. I’m in the middle of a Tokugawa legendary campaign. But it would benefit from a little more polish, like the fact that you can’t see the new region borders on the map.
Hey, I just noticed that your video seems to feature an older version of Morning Sun. Morning Sun is being updated, and the latest version can be found in the TWC forum link. It features a lot of new stuff like new siege maps for Korea, Korean voices, lots of new units, Unique ship models, etc.
I know it is not the right place, but can someone tell me how to install Total FOTS SftFE? I tried the definitive version, but it doesn't give me the option to play campaign and custom battles just crashes the game.
Either one. Just make sure that you have Darthmod correctly installed if you use that, as there are a couple of different ways to install, depending on if you want the full mod or not.
So I cannot for the life of me get shogun 2 to run when I open it through steam. Gotta open the file location in windows and click one of the icons there. How do I get the mods to work if I can’t open it in steam?

There’s two versions of morning sun, the steam version only has korea, the mod db version includes China

Love the fact Scramble for the East is here it is a rather simple conversion but a completely probable a-historical campaign.
