Thanks for giving the tip of using the foam applicator cut in 4's, and the mantra of don't overthink applies in my experience with a lot of things regarding car detailing.
That is one bad ass Lamborghini. One of the best looking Lamborghini's in the past several years. Absolutely beautiful blue color with those contrasting gold wheels. That is one lucky owner to have that car and even more....to have had the Esoteric treatment to it!
Thank you Todd. Always useful information. Cannot wait until the border opens up and I could go to your training courses. I was scheduled for May 2020 but had to cancel:(
Great video. Would like to see you talk about polishing around the edges. When do you need to use a 3" DA? Is it ok to go over the gap between two panels with the DA? Thanks
Todd I have a question when you use the towels to remove the ceramic after application can you reuse them for next time or do you have to throw them in the bin.... is there a way to clean them for the next use?
Could you if you immediately washed them? Yes. But can you keep them separated from towels you use on your paint, and is the risk really worth a couple of dollars?
It depends on the specific formula. Some must be removed immediately after small sections (we hate these types!), while others can be applied to the entire car before removing.
If it's within a few hours, you can put more coating on top of it, let it sit for a minute, and wipe off. That usually does the trick. If it has cured, then you'll need to use an abrasive polish to break it down.
Using the same technique for coating the rims spokes. Also, why bin the towels? Use them for cleaning rubber parts, hard plastics or engine bays... Otherwise it's waste
Not waste at all. How would you know which ones were used that way, and kept separate? It's not worth the risk, and if you're doing it for a living, your coating business should generate more than enough profit that some towels here and there aren't going to make your shop expense skyrocket.
@@Esotericdetail I hope you are joking :) I personally cut one of the edges and know which one is which, but you could find a bazillion ways to mark then.

Great video. You offered way more tips than just dealing with the edges.
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing this very helpful video, Todd. I hope all is well!

Hi Todd, what gsm rags are you using for this process? are they Korean ? Thanks
The towels are linked in the video description. Don't get caught up in GSM specs though...

Esoteric people where do you get that trolley cart from, thank you
I'm not sure exactly where we got those, but think they're readily available with a Google search.
Thanks for sharing this information... what was the coating being installed?
We were using Kamikaze Zipang in this video.
What type of Clay mitt should I buy ?
Todd- Could the towels be repurposed for something else after being used for a ceramic coating?
Could you if you immediately washed them? Yes. But can you keep them separated from towels you use on your paint, and is the risk really worth a couple of dollars?
Should I use the G on prep and clean the surface before applying the ceramic coating?
Yes you should...we kind of skipped over that part in this video, but it was done prior to coating.
@@Esotericdetail thank you. Love detailing my cars. Great videos and very helpful information
How long do you let the product sit on the car?
It depends on the specific formula. Some must be removed immediately after small sections (we hate these types!), while others can be applied to the entire car before removing.
Can I put ceramic over wax? or over my pink rupes polish or over my sonax ? what is the best under coat?
No. You need the surface to be absolutely squeaky clean without any residue of polish, waxes, sealants, quick detailers, etc.
Would you toss those towels after one section?
No...after one complete coat on the entire car.
@@Esotericdetail is stacking a thing with ceramics? Same bottle, not different ceramics?
@@SCPaperHat It depends on the specific product. Some can be layered, and some cannot.
How do I remover a dark spot ?

Hey Todd u have great videos !!Do u hold trainings on how to compound and polish
Yes, and have been for almost 10 years now! www.esotericcarcare.com/3-day-combo-detailing-training/
Wow, these tessellated Lambos must be serious polishing and coating nightmares.
They didn't design them to be easy for detailers, that's for sure!

Saver applicators eliminates nearly this whole conversation.
If you're talking about those microfiber ones, we don't care for those.
