I've got the ES4s and I have to say their sound REALLY improves with some good foam eartips. Overall sound is smoothened, bass is more controlled there's less thump and sub bass is more noticeable. Also the highs become a bit less strong, though still crisp anc clear. They also become less sibilant. I'd say that if you try this, then sound would become less "congestioned". They also benefit from using an amp. I'm really happy with them (specially after changing the tips). They are great value and better than many other known name brand ones that I have that have cost three to four times as much.
Okay. I've been waiting for this since I followed your channel few weeks ago. I own these and in Vietnam, they only cost 12 bucks (the perk of living just down under China lol). And do agree with the points you mentioned about the wires, they are killing me as well. They perform much more better than 5 x colours of my UrbanEars. About to upgrade the wire to USB type C one since I got a Google Pixel. And that phone is quite terrible for listen to music. Let's see if the upgrade cable with built-in DAC can max out the ES4. Ahahahaha I TOO have the KZ ES4 and a gen 1 Pixel. I'm happy with the pairing for mobile use (especially with spinfits on the ES4), I have a different setup at home for audio. The DAC cable won't necessarily improve the audio quality from the Pixel but I could be wrong. If you're worried about pushing your ES4 "to the max" then just EQ. At full blast, the power delivery of a Pixel can drive any range that's safe on ES4's.
@@lawrencewang3327 I ordered the Type-C cable just to see how it works with the ES4. For the earphones alone, they are already good. I love how these fit so well with the genres I listen to (J-Pop, K-Pop these are absolutely go well with, UK house and some electronics). I'll come back when I receive the cable and will let you know.
That ES4 is actually very eartips dependent. The sound quality improves when you change the eartips. Not drastically but when I use KZs old whirlwind eartips they make the sound quality a bit refined. Also those star-edge KZ eartips are not really advisable to use. They kinda muffle the sound quality of most IEMs I've tried. I dunno that's how they sound to my ears.
I'll have to try them with a different tip. I think my favorite silicone tips so far are tips that came with a pair of Final Audio E2000s. That said, I've had good luck with KZ's eartips. The shape lets them fit just a /bit/ deeper than some others without being really deep-fit tips.
Ii own the KZ ZS3, ZST and the ZS6 Earphones. The ZST and the ZS6 wear the KZ upgraded Cable which allows the two earphones to really shine top to bottom. The KZ3 wears the stock cable. While they do sound good, the music spectrum is too V-shaped for me. I need more mid-range so I'll be putting the upgraded cable on them come payday. I am very impressed with KZ Earphones. I get a lot of quality sound for my dollars.

Interesting! I think the ZSA verges on sibilant, which can be distracting with some music. I just think it has a wider, more layered sound. Also helps that they fit me better :p

Que tal. I like the ZSA a bit more than the ES4, but both are pretty solid for the money. As for which is the "best low cost IEM," I suppose it depends on how you define "low cost." My personal favorite is the Tin Audio T2, but it costs ~2x what the ZSA costs. Also, if I'm honest, the Koss KPH30i is still my favorite headphone this year, though it's not an IEM.

I just sold my ES4's, I gotta say they sound okay, with standart tips they sound muddy but the bass is killer, with foam tips it sounds smoother but it decreases the thump. I now use a ED16 with foam tips, the separation is better and less congested, unfortunately its discontinued.

As I'm not a singer I'm probably not the best person to give advice, but I would expect you'd want an earphone with a more neutral tuning, or more emphasis on midrange versus these KZs. Not much under $100 seems to emphasize midrange. Have you considered Fiio FA1?
when I see pictures of these things online I see this huge red chipset right through the plastic yet irl it's all nice and clear? is it just in the pictures that you really see the red? because I'm not a fan of the color. 😳

No difference on sound quality if you get with a microphone, just matters if you want a microphone. I don't make phone calls with them, so I don't want the extra fiddly bit on the cable. Small complaint :P Between those two, I slightly prefer the sound of the ZSA, BUT if you think you might be sensitive to treble the ES4 might be safer.

Mine came in kinda defective. When I plugged the pin into the headphones, the right one was unstable and would completely cut out my audio unless I jiggled it. It sucks cause for the few hours that I used them, they sounded really nice. Super strong. I hope they give me a refund

ES4 is slightly smaller than the AS10. That said, if the ES4 fits you, I think the AS10 will too -- both fit me, while the ZS10 does not. Seems to be more due to the shape of the stem than the size of the housing.
Is that the blue or green version you had for review? I ordered the blue ones myself but I honestly can't tell sometimes because they look somewhat greenish to me.
I use the zs3 for iem on electronic drums. They fit me almost perfect with the stock rubber tips. Once i got right size tips the sound isolation and overall sound very impressive. Good bass and highs not shrill like some reviews Ive read on other models. They compare very well with my Sony MDR-7506 headphones. They are supposedly a long time studio standard. Very happy for $15 purchase. And if you dont for some reason like them you are only out a few bucks. But I think you will like them.
Depends, do you want it with a microphone? I personally don't make phone calls often (or even use headphones on my phone) so the microphone is a waste on me.
I have the KZ ZST colorful, upgrade from skullcandy and the ones that come with getting a samsung s8. They sound way better and I can pick up way more in music listening, but the high end is too high. Is there a brand in similar or slightly higher price range that would fit better in ear[these slide a lot] and more clarity without hurting your ears on the high sounds? I use them mainly for music, movies, and games not a musician or anything. Slight hearing damage from my military time leaves me just wanting to hear music better and it seems iems vs regular earbuds are way better...I'm just lost in the sea of so many choices and not knowing what I'm doing. Yeah, lots of choices. Some recommendations, each with different levels of high frequency volume. FYI, I have reviews of all of these: * Final E2000: Very relaxed treble, a safe bet. I like this set, but the relaxed treble will reduce the sense of clarity. * Tin T2: If you're sensitive to treble, get the original, not the Pro version. Some people have told me they thought it was still too bright for them, but I think the treble is pretty tame. This is probably the tipping point for some people -- and a bit more toward clarity versus relaxed. * Status Audio IEM-2X: More bass than the T2, maybe even a bit more clarity in the treble. I think the treble is not as aggressive as ZST, but to be honest I haven't heard the ZST. * TenHz P4 Pro: I'm evaluating this headphone now. Clarity is super strong AND the treble is surprisingly relaxed. Could be a good option for you, but FYI it's about twice the cost of the others I listed.
I think the TRNs are strictly better in most respects, EXCEPT they're pretty sibilant -- I didn't have any issue with sibilance with the ES4. The TRNs just have a cleaner sound, more resolution. I'd rather have the V80s, but with foam tips to tame the highs.
got them for $14.99 on Amazon flash sale. I immediately connected them to my Earstudio ES100 bluetooth DAC. HOLY SHIT!!! WTF!!! HTF??? Yeah if you dont buy these your stupid. With the ES100's app you can tune down the bass if it's too extra. this is the best purchase I've made in a long time. more: I like the comfort of these even though the sound isn't as good as my Tin T3 but the tube on the T3 is way too big. These ES4 fit well if you have a small ear hole.
Could you recommend some IEM with a flat response? Still looking for a shure's alternative, but all I know about KZ that they are V shaped. I'm going to use it on stage as a monitor so it would be great if they had a good isolation. Thanks

You notice the cable makes a difference in sound?
Yes I did. IMO, the Copper Cable on the ZS6 Earphones took the high treble down a notch or two and; made the tones top to bottom smoother and cleaner.

in your opinion, what's the best upgrade from kz zsn? mine broke and I don't wanna buy the same IEM cause zsn sounds pretty solid to me

i can advise upgrading to the silver cable.makes a big difference in sound quality.
Honestly, I'm skeptical cables make a difference unless you're starting with a bad cable.

Great vídeo man, but can u do like a ladder of kz? From top to bottom? Its because i own the Kz ZST Pro, but muy cable got damaged and im interested in buying another cable or buying the Kz Zsn or prob another bit expensive than the zst pro but idk what to go for :(
In terms of sound, here's my ranking (favorite to least):
AS10 > ZS10 > ZSA > ES4 > ZSN
But the ZSN has the best cable and fit.

what's the size of the ES4 compared to the AS10? I have an ES4 now and am thinking of jumping into the deep end of the pool with the AS10.
ES4 is slightly smaller than the AS10. That said, if the ES4 fits you, I think the AS10 will too -- both fit me, while the ZS10 does not. Seems to be more due to the shape of the stem than the size of the housing.

Should I get this instead of the ZS3?
I haven't heard the ZS3s, maybe someone else has.
I use the zs3 for iem on electronic drums. They fit me almost perfect with the stock rubber tips. Once i got right size tips the sound isolation and overall sound very impressive. Good bass and highs not shrill like some reviews Ive read on other models. They compare very well with my Sony MDR-7506 headphones. They are supposedly a long time studio standard. Very happy for $15 purchase. And if you dont for some reason like them you are only out a few bucks. But I think you will like them.

Uh, I like the sound of ES4 better, but everything else about ZSN is better. So I would probably go with ZSN. Way better fit + cable.

I have the KZ ZST colorful, upgrade from skullcandy and the ones that come with getting a samsung s8. They sound way better and I can pick up way more in music listening, but the high end is too high. Is there a brand in similar or slightly higher price range that would fit better in ear[these slide a lot] and more clarity without hurting your ears on the high sounds? I use them mainly for music, movies, and games not a musician or anything. Slight hearing damage from my military time leaves me just wanting to hear music better and it seems iems vs regular earbuds are way better...I'm just lost in the sea of so many choices and not knowing what I'm doing. Advice anyone? I appreciate it in advance and happy new year!
Yeah, lots of choices. Some recommendations, each with different levels of high frequency volume. FYI, I have reviews of all of these:
* Final E2000: Very relaxed treble, a safe bet. I like this set, but the relaxed treble will reduce the sense of clarity.
* Tin T2: If you're sensitive to treble, get the original, not the Pro version. Some people have told me they thought it was still too bright for them, but I think the treble is pretty tame. This is probably the tipping point for some people -- and a bit more toward clarity versus relaxed.
* Status Audio IEM-2X: More bass than the T2, maybe even a bit more clarity in the treble. I think the treble is not as aggressive as ZST, but to be honest I haven't heard the ZST.
* TenHz P4 Pro: I'm evaluating this headphone now. Clarity is super strong AND the treble is surprisingly relaxed. Could be a good option for you, but FYI it's about twice the cost of the others I listed.

I think the TRNs are strictly better in most respects, EXCEPT they're pretty sibilant -- I didn't have any issue with sibilance with the ES4. The TRNs just have a cleaner sound, more resolution. I'd rather have the V80s, but with foam tips to tame the highs.
got them for $14.99 on Amazon flash sale. I immediately connected them to my Earstudio ES100 bluetooth DAC. HOLY SHIT!!! WTF!!! HTF??? Yeah if you dont buy these your stupid.
With the ES100's app you can tune down the bass if it's too extra. this is the best purchase I've made in a long time.
more: I like the comfort of these even though the sound isn't as good as my Tin T3 but the tube on the T3 is way too big. These ES4 fit well if you have a small ear hole.
