Investigative journalism is one of the most dangerous careers out there. It's not the actual work that brings the danger necessarily, but the response to said work. I understand why larger media outlets play it safe, particularly because of how low the cash flow is in media, so you have to maximize profits by whatever means necessary. Necessary. But investigative journalism soldiers on in spite of the risk as well as the low return on investment. This is why people like Friendly Jordies and Coffeezilla have my utmost respect.
@@PitH0und it's not as simple as "do your job". At what cost? journalists are overworked, underpaid, and exposed to greater and greater risk. Australia's media landscape has become so bleak. We've rolled back a HEAP of laws that protect journalistic integrity and so journalists are afraid to say anything too radical about the gov lest they face harsh consequences. The NSW police and gov are notoriously most corrupt of all states across Aus. It's really scary
It's an understatement to say Australia's mainstream media reporters should be ashamed of themselves. Thank you, Jordie and his team, for caring more about this country's people and environment than its actual government does.
17:30 Okay. So. In Australia and also places like Canada, a Premier is a political leader who runs a state. In Australia there is 6 states and 2 territories. A State Premier or Chief Minister of a territory is the equivalent of a state governor in the US. Deputy Premier is second in command. If the premier is off on leave or out of state or country, then it would go to Deputy Premier. Historically, Australia was formed from a bunch of different colonies that decided to unite in 1901 and federate (becoming a country). Each of the state premiers is based off of those old colonies where there is a leader for that state. They work with the Federal government on some larger tasks that they're unable to do themselves but there's still quite a fair bit that get done by the states. EDIT: one additional thing I'd like to add is the Liberal Party of Australia and the National Party (formally known as the Country Party) are part a right wing "Coalition". Coalition means the two parties govern together and are the main opposition to Labor. Liberal is usually the Premier and the Nationals have the Deputy Premier. John Barilaro (Bruz) is a member of the National Party.
The premier in Australia is basically like the governor of a State in the USA , so Bruz was pretty up there in the political world which just makes it all the more crazy, Jordys is a legend
I encountered a video of him a few minths ago of him talking about John and it was super interesting to see someone actually doing something to change and expose the issues around him regardless of the threats that posed on him

I wouldn't see the original video unless this CT posted his take.

As an Australian, i am gravely disappointed in the way our lawmakers and parliamentarians find loopholes and ways to abuse their power to insert themselves into a cult of personality and unlimited power, NSW is the most corrupt of states in Australia (and this js coming from a QLDER) and its getting out of hand, Jordies is the one guy that literally risks his life to criticise the overlords, fights the battles and bears the battle scars, and im glad more international voices are talking about him, he deserves the recognition.
And this is why we never should have lost our right to keep and bear arms in 1996. It's too parallelistic to the 1930's era Germany.

glad that the 2 shows of his I went to didn't get firebombed. happy to see how many youtubers bring attention to his great journalism
"I understand why big media doesn't tell the truth because it's dangerous :(" Yeah, why would someone be expected to do their job?
@@PitH0und it's not as simple as "do your job". At what cost? journalists are overworked, underpaid, and exposed to greater and greater risk. The least we can do is understand why things end up the way they do. So if they sell out and take the donations from the billionaire here or the dictator there, we must understand the environment that pushed them to do so.
I never said I like it or agree with it. I've just been trying to see why things are the way they are, and this is what I've found to be true. I'd love to be proven wrong though, which would mean I get to learn something.

Thank you Oompaville for covering this issue here in Australia, the more traction this situation gets the more likely something may happen

Okay.
“you can’t be racist to italians” watch me
I was young. My mom and dad split temporarily and all I heard was some name “Ashley and Madison” I thought my dad had two mistresses. 🤣
The premier in Australia is basically like the governor of a State in the USA , so Bruz was pretty up there in the political world which just makes it all the more crazy, Jordys is a legend
To say nothing of the entrenched organized crime that filthy dog could network with
Worse, since there are very few states and NSW is by far the most powerful state historically.

Great to see this support for friendlyjordies, the powers that be in NSW have effectively silenced him for now so other youtubers shining a light on this is important.
Regarding Italians and the racist thing- There is history in Australia of oppresion towards Italian immigrants here. Us British whities go through phases of which immigrant demographic we can't stand and think should go home. It was the Sudanese in the late 2010s, I'm assuming it's Palestinians atm.
