    Update #2 06/12/24: MoM = 100%. EB in game. Strong argument to go life based. Will test around.

    Some insane buffs. 70% increased Arcane Surge effect on tree + 26% damage mana recoup. Mental. The 5 points for Pain Attunement (if we can go low life) or CI can be interchanged as needed. We also get a free extra chain on lightning skills!
    Update 04/12/24: Ascendency nodes revealed - rumours were correct, we get “you have arcane surge (10% more cast speed, 20%! more mana regen)” + “1% increased effect of arcane surge per 15 max mana”. Seems very strong. The recoup and chill nodes also look interesting, will be testing it all and posting an update video accordingly. Current plan is double shock + arcane + arcane effect + recoup.
    Update 03/12/24: No mana spell leech in PoE 2 confirmed. Time to get creative with regen, (recoup?) and more!

      The recent Ascendancy reveal has nodes for "You have Arcane Surge" and "1% increased effect of Arcane Surge per 15 maximum mana"
      Arcane Surge is also buffed to provide more multipliers instead of increased.
      With base mana regen being buffed in Poe2 1.8 -> 4%, scaling mana regen should be strong, even if %inc mana regen stat is less available than poe1

      If you have enough mana You should be good because of the + effect ascendancy node, no?

    CI, Eldritch battery and MoM. Stack ES and mana regen nodes. Max out intelligence and plus mana on gear. Around level 57 you can expect about 5000-7000 mana with like 700 mana regen. Shit is crazy.

    Build looks cool! I’m gonna be doing an Arc Ignite Infernalist myself. Infernal Flame will make it so I don’t have to worry about mana sustain and then I can just try to balance my infernal flame so it stays between 30 and 100% so that Arc contributes to my ignites.
    If ignite ends up sucking, I can pivot to ball lightning along with some cast on shock/ignite setups.

    Are we confident Arc works with Mana Tempest? MT specifies beams, and Arc doesn't mention beams. Ball Lightning does specifically say "Fires beams".

      Fairly confident overall, as POE 1's Arc of Surging reads "Modifiers to the number of times to Chain instead apply to the number of targets Beam Splits towards". Also would be weird if only one lightning spell had synergy with Mana Tempest. On the off chance it doesn't, swapping to Ball Lightning would be quite easy IMO, most of the build, tree. links etc would be the same except for proj #, nova, and speed scaling!

    arc will chain 3 times by himself at level 20, and is supposed that there is +1 to chain somewhere on the passive tree, so with chain support it probably will be 8-10 chains... Maybe some unique from pinnacle bosses can add another 2-4 chains?

      Not saying this isn’t true but where are you getting your info regarding max level Arc being 3 chains and MoM not being 100%? Even play testers from the recent even in November keep saying MoM 100%. Was this a Fextra leak or something?

    mana leach present in game only for physical attack damage. You can get elemental attack damage leached as mana with some unique items, but spell damage mana leach is heavily banned by devs/game designers. So mana regen is required on the god tier level for this build...

      unlike poe1 attack and spell are just same hit in poe2. therefore we can hope there is some way to leach some mana with spell. and.. in case we cant do that we just use meta gem for curse and invest spirt for mana.

      Jonathan has indeed now confirmed that mana leech for spells will be actively be avoided in POE2 and is currently not a thing. Will pin a comment with all relevant updates!

    Hi guys, how can I scale defenses with this build? Thinking about the endgame, where we shouldn't die on maps, it makes me think more about the survivability of the character

      1) MoM + high mana pool & regen, 2) +max res wherever we can, 3) phys taken conversion (e.g. cloak of flame), 4) the revealed ascendancy node with 40% ele recoup as ES looks like its worth dropping "all damage can shock" for (so double shock + arcane + arcane effect + recoup), 5) our blasphemy enfeeble + temp chains, 6) more spirit could allow arctic armour or savage plating (if also scaling armour), and some mechanics we probably don't know of yet!

    also I suppose, it will be better to use scepter + wand to receive another 100-200 spirit and can trigger lightning ball on shock, & use elemental invocation + lightning conduit burst damage on double shocked bosses or just add another layer of defense with arctic armor.

      Do we have confirmation that you can dual wield a spectre + wand in poe 2? Not possible in poe 1

      Definitely things to look out for, I'm quite curious how cast on crit v.s. cast on shock will end up playing out as well. Lots of room to adapt :)

    nice video, We have the same plan, very similar. I was also thinking maybe CI for late game? free chaos immunity, we dont use life at all.

      CI is definitely a great option and what I will go for as well if we can't reserve life for Low Life + Pain Attunement :)

      I think anyone doing a spell lightning build has almost the same idea with only small variations. It isn't that hard since the limited amount of choices we have right now makes the optimal path pretty obvious.

    Out of curiosity, why opt for this build vs something like Ball Lightning + Archmage + Mana Remnants? Mana remnants seems like an insane way to stay at max mana almost 100% of the time

      Ball Lightning would definitely also work, largely up to personal preference. I think Ark may clear faster, but both will be great dps wise. Mana remnants is definitely on my radar, but I've never been a huge fan of on-kill setups. The ability to double up on your mana pool before a boss does sound quite interesting, but I'm cautious of how fast we might drain our mana for more damage, and whether we'd see a material difference there over another curse for example, using those 30 spirit.

      @@WarcryLive Only reason for Ball lightning over ARC IMO is so you can use "Cast on Shock" and Wildshards with it since it insta shocks enemies. So you can slot in Lightning storm for even more AOE. But with regards to mana remnants, they showed it in the trailer, all those little lightning balls. They spawn like 8 per shocked enemy it seems and if you're already walking through packs its just passive recovery. Either way I really need people to talk to about potential builds since I never actually played POE1

    im wondering how viable it will be to start with the es/mana nodes early, or if I might be better to start with the spell damage nodes and hope the respec costs are not too high

      Early game, pre archmage, definitely could be worth it if we are lacking damage while leveling!

    Also make crit for start of the EA seems like shoot in own leg. Majority of crit builds in poe - is for late game. In poe 2 it will be even more LATE, than in poe 1...

      Base crit for spells and bases seems to be a lot higher in poe 2, with less access to % increases across the board. There is definitely an argument to prioritise crit nodes last, although it begs the question, if we are casting twice a second, and 10% of hits apply a much stronger shock, whether this would still be worth it - even early. Excited to find out!

      @@WarcryLive for mobs - it's over damage, for boss - you can't face tank and cast spells, you need to avoid boss nukes (less effective shock time on bosses)

    We need CI and stack ES mid-late game. Why use elemental focus when you can get the ascendancy node 2x shock?

      The main ark setup would still be able to shock (would not use it there). By no means a necessary link, but I am considering it for my orb of storms or elemental storm sockets, as the hits there would be smaller, and the largest shock (our Arc) would apply instead.
