@prairieborn, I have been watching African wildlife for just over five years. Hoof stock have to be able to run away from predators soon after being born. I assume that the red dogs are running for the same reason.
makes sense due to the fact that are prey animals and baby's need to be able to keep up with the herd or they will get eaten by predators

They have to hit the ground running. Once upon a time, bison roamed wild. They had to get away from wolf packs that would be attracted by the smell of blood.

@@charlenedulmage2041 Not typically, but in breeding livestock sometime you do if you line breed. For Bison it's probably not a good idea since the gene pool is already limited. But two of those calves should be out of Big Joe that are now in Dunbar's herd. That's what I mean...hope they are girls.

That's a fantastic boost to morale with the arrival of the three new red dogs... and that Eleanor may have a bun in the oven too. Very nice. Elsa's getting so big, and nice to see her able to hold her own. Maya seems to have her back while she's trying to eat too. That's nice. Congrats on the rain.

Won't you need some ventilation on the office roof? Especially if you use the loft for storage. Whatever types of passive or turbine vents that are appropriate for your area. And despite having ceiling insulation you need to worry about ice dams on your metal roof. You'll have snow on top and warmth underneath. The warmth may melt some snow and create ice. Later some of the ice and snow will melt but the underlay of ice will keep the water from draining off. Talk to a local roofer about appropriate precautions, of which ventilation of excess interior heat is a key.
Will Eleanor have a baby shower? I actually am more and more convinced she has a lot of wood bison in her ancestry. That would explain both her size and that she is cimfortable being farther from the herd. Wood bison lived in smaller bunches and had to be more widely separated when grazing. Hunters recorded finding bison that appeared to be alone. Just curious
