The Disastrous State of Jakarta’s Regional Buses | Transjabodetabek Tier List Part 1

  • We need bus tracking!
Also reconsider lodekisasi, get more high floor buses PLEASE!
Jakarta's regional buses are in a dire state. No bus tracking, horrible and maybe even dangerous bus stops, low frequencies, and Jakarta's tiny rail network for its size means that these buses are sometimes the only option.
Actual tier list starts at 3:17
I suggest watching the part before it because all lines suffer from the same problems.

    1. B11/B21 doesn't really have significant travel time changes after "lodekisasi". Sure in the beginning of the implementation, everyone got angry by the fact that they didn't turn off the speed limiter yet (being stunted with a max speed of 60km/h on a toll road), now with the speed limiter is removed, you got LRT Jabodebek-like speed with peak 75-80km/h, just ignore the gemlodak sound
    2. It's only a matter of time that S21 and S22 to go "lodek" because until late 2024, there is still a shipment of low-deck electric bus, that replaces regular low-deck buses in some routes

I think some S11 buses suffer from this too as some were crawling at 50 km/h on the highway

Most of the time it's like that, but there's one weird time where the bus was crawing on the highway at 50 despite it being empty (sunday morning) but as soon as we entered Jakarta, the speed randomly increased to 65.

The whole "lodekisasi" situation is basically lose/lose since the root issue is TJ needing extra revenue due to good ol' Heru slashing their subsidy. Either you keep your high-deck buses but with ticket prices being raised significantly (reaching APTB levels even), or turn every bus in the Bodetabek route to low decks, thus making a huge inconvenience for everyone and making us pay twice if we wanted to use the BRT services, but in turn the ticket prices stay at Rp3500

I was with my Australian friend and she wanted to visit a mall in the bekasi area- ok so we decided to go to smb. I said let's use the B11 bus since it will take us directly to the mall.
I don't think you can even call the bus stop a "bus stop"
The Jatibening 2 bus stop literally has no signs and it's plonked right on the jalan caman toll exit off of the Jakarta cikampek toll road. No shelter. nothing. Google can only show you a vauge icon at where the bus may stop at.
Getting to that bus stop Is a nightmare as well. Especially if you live on and around caman. How do you get to the bus stop you may ask from Jalan caman? You literally have to walk on the toll exit to get to the bus stop. Hoping the cars exiting the toll road won't knock you down. It's a good 800m away from cikunir 1 lrt station which also brings me to my next point, they could have brought the bus station closer to Cikunir 1 Lrt station and could have made a great interchange point (granted the height difference is pretty large) but if they put in some effort, I think it's totally possible.
It's such a sad excuse for a brt stop. Never again.

Honestly the Transmetrofication thingy they did to T11 really kill the price efficiency of the line. Although for the majority of the line it has become much more comfortable (cuz the better buses) to ride in, once you get to Jakarta (Slipi part of the route) the fact that it's not the tall buses kills the convenience and the price effectiveness. If you need to use the T11 to get to and from work everyday, that means now you have to pay 7k minimum one way because you have to get off the bus and pay again to enter the BRT lines. That is twice the usual cost and will definitely cut into some people's budgets.

    • @shindoride
      @shindoride  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Yep, also not being able to use bus lanes to skip traffic. One thing I miss about the old T11 is that once you enter Jakarta, you're basically flying past everyone.

The difference between TJ (TransJakarta) and TJ (TransJogja) is that they only reach the more populated areas. Except for Wonosari, almost the whole of Gunung Kidul regency, the whole regency of Kulon Progo. It's really hard to make a bus route between Sleman and Bantul, because despite Bantul and Sleman being like the 2nd and 3rd populated areas, the infrastructure is so bad that one of the bus stops that pass by corridor 14 is literally in the middle of the farm to just get to Terminal Pakem, and there's many places that would've been a good place to make a bus stop and make a new route on it. An example is Sleman City Hall (really close to Stadion Tridadi), the Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta, and the last one, which just can't be justified. Is Stadion Maguwoharjo? On corridor 14, it literally passes on Jaya Tajem Road. If they could just change the road to turn to the right and back at the Jaya Tajem road, they could've ended up at Stadion Maguwoharjo. That is the second-biggest stadium in Yogyakarta, the home stadium of PSS Sleman. That has a lot of potential to pass with public transportation, but they just wasted it all. And also, I think they don't have any aid from the government to do all that. Also, first of all, just for your information, in TransJogja, there's two companies that hold BRT public transportation in Yogyakarta. There's TransJogja, which is held by PT JTT (Jogja Tugu Trans) and PT AMI (Anindya Mitra Internasional). The other one is held by Kemenhub. TransJogja had 19 corridors: 1B, 1C (the new guy), 2B, 3A, 3B, 4A, 4B, 5A, 5B, 6A, 6B, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14, and 15. The other one, the Teman bus, had three corridors: K3J (1A), K2J (2A), and K1J (12). The difference is that TemanBus doesn't accept cash and has no guard, and then they had many buses on the road, and they're all low-entry buses with two doors that once you enter, you pay. And the other door is for leave. For TransJogja, they had many more options: accept cash, have a student card (which only costs you 60 rupiahs), and 1B, 3A, and 15 are low-entry buses, while the other one is high-entry buses. TemanBus made things harder with public transportation, so that is why 1C (the new guy) was introduced. Many people feel that TemanBus makes things harder; they don't accept cash. And for students, they had to register their card or something, which only cost them 1000 rupiahs. Ok, I'm not anti-online payments, but I'm more pro-option. On the route of K1J, their destination is many of the tourist sites. Like Adisucpito Airport, Terminal Prambanan, and Malioboro. The thing is that the only route that goes into the far east of Yogyakarta, Prambanan, is only K3J. Which led many people mad because TemanBus was just created in 2020 and they already make trouble. People who choose pro-option want integration between those two companies. First of all, if you want to transit from TJ to TJ, you don't need to pay again. If you want to transit from TB to TB, you don't need to pay again. If you want to transit from TB to TJ, you don't need to pay again. But if you want to transfer from TJ to TB, you have to pay again. That's why Transjogja introduced 1C, which only stops at Adisucipto Airport and Terminal Prambanan. People are already enthusiastic about it. Also, I want to talk about the reach. The far eastern part of Jogja is the terminal of Prambanan. Is reached by corridors 1C and K3J. The north of Sleman is the terminal of Pakem. There are two that split again: TemanBus and TransJogja. K1J (from Kaliurang Street) and 14 (from Raya Tajem Street, to the middle of nowhere). After they meet at UII, it goes to the terminal in Pakem. I don't know how to explain the Godean; it's west of the city and in the area of Sleman. They're not that west; it's just that they're in the weird shape of the south-west of Sleman. And west to the city. Ok, they have corridor 13. It was once held by TemanBus under the name K2J because they realised they weren't making any money from it. And they transform it into 2A (just like 2B, but it's on a different side of the road). And then there's gamping; gamping is passing by Corridors 6A and 6B (like 6A, but it's on a different side of the road, but it's on the loop route), and the last one is 10. Gamping, which once again is like a weird shape, It's in the west of the city, but it's in the southwest of Sleman. And all routes that connect to Gamping and Godean are met at the most important terminal, the terminal in Ngabean. It's not in the middle of the city; it's just near the Kraton Palace, and, surprising enough, there are really many people waiting in there. And then the last one is the Terimal of Palpabang, which passes by Corridor 15. It's from the terminal in Palpabang, then to Ngabean, and then to Malioboro. And then Ngabean again, then just back to the terminal in Palpabang. Also, I want to know how many people really use public transportation. The daily average number of people who use TransJogja is 14,000. Which is a lot, but not compared with the population. So that's why there are so many bus stops that have no guard on them, as we call them "portabel." Sometimes it's like a normal bus stop with no guard on it, to just a fricking staircase. I'm a 100% Someday someone just stole it. I think that's all, but I really want to talk about other things, but maybe on another day? Anyway, Cya, I'm sorry for my broken English. I'm practicing it, as you've seen it rn.

I work near SMS Gading Serpong, and having direct access to regular TJ services would be nice. Unfortunately, in this so-called ‘elite’ area, TJ only provides the Royal Trans service, which is quite limiting. Perhaps, if the powers that be in Gading Serpong could recognize that many working-class individuals are employed within their vicinity, they might consider establishing a decent city bus line that serves the commercial areas. I’m not asking for anything extravagant-something akin to the Trans Kota Tangerang bus system would be more than welcome. Currently, my only option for commuting is the old angkot route, which isn’t very reliable, especially when my workday often extends until 20:30. I’m unsure whether the angkot operates during those late hours, so I often resort to using Gojek services, which significantly eats into my salary. Hopefully, the Teman Bus network will expand to this area soon

Lack of trains because the city is severely unwalkable + the current train network is way too overburdened. We need more circumferential train routes in Jakarta

Yes, also because Jakarta's just too big, lots of areas with no rail access.

Use the Onesmile app, it's a bit laggy though, I tried it once from AEON mall and it works. Provides both estimated arrival times and bus location.
