@@SombR3ro lol his primary at mid range can actually be pretty decent if he hits enough of em. Even from a far those tickle shots can make you worry when your already down at 100 hp
I'm completely inept as Doomfist, too, but I own as Echo... this is making me rethink doomfist... but I probably still won't have the balls to try and play him lmao idk his kit doesn't make sense to me, Echo's does.

You can actually have a better damage combo. Because of the delay from using your sticky bombs to shooting your beam, you can actually get one primary shot in between with an animation cancel. Thus, making the combo primary-sticky bombs-primary-beam.

Echo tip: Lucios ultimate stacks so if you have a lucio on your team and on the enemy team you can coordinate the ult to give your teamates 2,000 Hp

@@goose9137 True, but it helps when the enemy is making a coordinated and aggresive push. The better option is to chain it, after one is done then the other can be used.

Krisno she isn’t a complete flight character, she’s probably better played on ground anyways, the flight is just for higher mobility and flank opportunity
Any hitscan she may look slim but her hitbox is fucking W I D E
How does the saying go? "You have to know your enemy if you want to defeat them" meaning even if these are tips for playing her if you know that people use these tips you can figure out what they are doing and may counter that.
Quick tip for console players: for characters like echo or pharah, consider rebinding your jump to a bumper. This makes it so you can hold jump to fly and shoot while still being able to use your right stick.
Pharah and mercy actually already use a bumper for the base game. Echo does too, but it's binded to sticky bombs.
@@deadmaniac0472 yes but you can move those abilities to other buttons. I changed the left bumper abilities to left stick, for example. You can also set A to abilities instead of jump

If you got cash get an elite controller (2 if you can). takes 1 month to get used to but binding jump to the back bumpers instantly improves echo/lucio/genji/pharah because your fingers never leave any buttons
For anybody watching this post OW2 release, I think Mei is also an outstanding pick to ult on, because with her rework her ult is a game changer and her ult charges super fast c:

This is a good echo tip: make sure you wait until the end of the preparation phase before you throw out your echo drones just in case they have a Twitch or the twitch drone is destroyed

Keep in mind that echo has a really large hit box for a 200 health character
In regardless to the Doomfist Echo comparison I don’t actually feel it. I’m mid Diamond and have never been a good Doomfist but after trying Echo I’ve felt her very smooth and have used her pretty well but that’s just my experience.
Maybe not mechanically. She has similar times of when and how you will want to engage in a fight. Both her and doom can take an angle not to flank and poke, but to pounce and get out. Her flight when used as a retreat is similar to dooms retreat, and she has similar "get one kill and get out" mentality. I would say doom has a greater pick potential, but has little to no poke, where echo has less than dooms, but can poke from afar.
The huge similarity for me is punishing positioning. Doom and Echo are so good at getting kills the instant when positioning breaks or when a hero is vulnerable.
bro i promise you can be a good doom fist if you can play echo. both heroes are designed around cool down management and insta kill potential, but at the cost of extreme vulnerability when you miss your cool downs are misuse. the primary fire aims about the same too, except echo has better range and more bullets. they arent entirely the same but the fundamentals certainly are
He's not really saying that they are the same, just that they fill the same role. They zip around punishing poor positioning and fragging down enemies with their combos(slam+uppercut or stickies and focus beam).
Tip, use her flight and Ult while on the air or high ground. A bastion on high ground or a tank that's dropping from above will kill or confuse your enemies.
Maybe another tip, echo‘s ult disables hero selection for enemies, so on 2 cp maps like Anubis,Volskaya save your ult until after getting a pick, stops the enemy from stalling forever, works like a charm 👌🏻
Another tip you didn't mention, is if you are close to dying you can just dupe into another hero. Get max HP, and if you die again you will have full HP for a second time. So like three lives. Good for stall as well.
Couple things with this video
1. I have learned from personal experience not to use the beam until you know they are for sure under %50 health just because it is extremely easy to out heal the 50 dps rather than 200. So what will happen is people will use their beam right after they shoot out the bombs and the player will get healed before they’re health gets below %50 so now you’ve wasted your beam and possibly gotten yourself killed.
2. Now im not 100% about this one but a lot of pros have been saying TO play her like genji where this video says the opposite
Other than that great tips
Echo started growing on me, at first I couldn't even get 12 kills with her. But after a bit more practice, I was able to get into the 50's. That was without knowing these tips. And with knowing these, I can definitely do a lot better after a bit more practice.
A good tip for console is to switch your jump button to the Left Bumper (L2, LB) and your bomb to the previous default one ( X, A) so you have your thumb free to aim while gliding

2:26 she has character specific settings that let you make it so in order to fly u need to hold down the button and if u stop holding it down it cancels her flight
I think a good tip for echo is to not burn all of your abilities on one Target in a team fight. Primary fire does a lot of damage, use it to your advantage!
You can also animation cancel primary fire into beam which kinda makes a new combo with bombs to primary fire cancel beam :P (for those who don’t know: after your shoot your bombs hold your primary fire button and beam at the same time and it shreds the enemy
I love playing as Echo so much, she’s a fun character to play as and her story makes me emotional.

I play on Xbox and I found that switching the A jump button with the RB or LB abilities so you can jump around and use her jump abilities

7:18 I like to hover a few seconds in the air and wait (if they dont see me) so my flight is on a 3-4 second cooldown and I can get out after the kill

i think another thing about cloning tanks is you create a temporary triple tank comp...which in the right scenarios, can basically stomp teams that aren't able to counter such strats in 15 seconds...and of course, stealing beat drop, in a grav is worth it too
also thanks so much for the doomfist comparason. ive been struggling to put my finger on what makes me good with her at times, and feeding on her at other times...and now that i imagine how doom plays it makes perfect sense

Thank God someone made a guide this will be helpful for others. I always see people get stuck on beam of fly for no reason and I have told them that they can cancel
About Tip Number 15, a lot of Reins are already figuring out that they should drop shield when an Echo is lasering it. Even in Quick Play at a Plat level, I'm noticing that Reins are consistently dropping their shields when I use beam on it, opting to face tank the 50 DPS rather than let the beam totally destroy their shield.
If he drops shield that should be your teams cue to focus him down and kill him or at least make him back off. Alternatively, if you have a sniper hero as the other dps, they can use that opportunity to pick off squishy healers or dps that would normally be hiding behind the shield.
I wonder if it's worth baiting them to drop shield with laser and then cancelling to set up earthshatters or sticky bomb plays or something
Perfect opportunity for an outplay, bait the shield with laser for a combo, or not using the beam until the rein is low

Do you glide while on the ground and then fly?

I get you with university making you busy, my semester has been over since May and I have so much time on my hands now so I am using it to main echo along with getting decent at some other heroes so I can use her ult more efficiently.
On legun tower on the market area if you spawn on the sude with the blue and oragne octipi you can go out to the right and fly to the objective if you go high enough

A thing i noticed when flying is that you get boosted a slight amount when you use flight but if you jump than fly you go very high up and you can go a further distance
tip 9 is just like super jumping on Mercy! it seems to be the same kind of thing, just crouch before you fly and you go super low to the ground. i wonder if you can do something similar to this when you ult as sigma and fly really low too, i'll have to try that lol
Echo is my main currently and I'm obsessed with her-
you can pull off doomfist type of bunny hops if u jump and cancel like off a corner of a rail or anything in that sort. you get extra height
i love the vid the only thing is i say you should flank with echo because when your not seen you can get some crazy damage with echo that's her main downfall she is squish not saying always flank but your definitely still should if your team is cracking them from the front flanking with her beam can get you a lot of kills

Tech I found out with echo you can get a drastically higher vertical and horizontal speed/height how to achieve it is by aiming at an object (Similarly to Doomfist) fly-shift or lb I believe on console at certain object such as fences ledge jump “doom tech” an mainly any others capable with doom you can also do the same with just canceling it but theirs no real reason instead of keeping the extra flight but change as you’d like.
On console (ps4): I don’t manage to look straight and jump vertical (like pharah). I can only make a jump front (even without pushing the left stick) and then elevate vertical by holding the jump button. Thanks for help. And how would you recommend the controller setting for ps4?

I was just wondering... what crosshair do you think is the best for echo? I was thinking just the cross hairs with some gap in the middle... but Idk, there could be a better cross hair.

I came here to learn new things, but unfortunately all the hours I put into Echo these are pretty much all the tricks I have learned through failure. Really good work though, great things to know if you are just starting Echo for the first time! I however didn't know the crouch dashing one, that is pretty cool.

In gameplay tips if you are a doomfist main do an ability cycle don’t use them all at once like doomfist in doomfist the famous combo is slam uppercut then primary fire then rocket punch to escape but with echo don’t engage with ur flight use it to escape.

You can also cancel E, its often better to just cancel it after finishing an enemy and then start fireing primary fire or escaping from dangerous position
The play echo like doomfist Is a really good tip because of her mobility and assassination potential
Quick tip: when u transform into genji and u ghost dash kill someone and ghost dash up last second u essentially get a super jump
I hope they add a toggle glide setting to the echo and mercy controls cause it’s so annoying on console to not be able to aim while gliding

I took a break from OW and just came back today. I hadn’t played echo yet Bc I left after sigma made double shield popular. So I tried echo and my conclusion was literally how she played similar to Doomfist. I’m so happy that it wasn’t just me being delusional 😂
Recommended combos for console players!~
~flight first, lightbeam (cancel at a certain point depending on your enemy) , then the sticky bombs for ultimate destruction.
- shoot twice, bombs, then fly away for a quick kill.
(Correct me If you think I’m wrong) I‘m a low diamond player and i think that a few tips can be changed for lower rankes. If you play on lower ranks you can flank because everyone is out of position. These targets are a free kill. Low ranked players won’t know what to do (they won’t play in a team that protects each other).
just wanted to point out that you can actually volly then basic into a beam before the bombs blow for a constant damage

I love duplicating rein because it allows a no fear rein. If you have an ana its even better if you coordinate your ults. Multiple ults and lots of kills/damage
