19:30 It would have been great if you’d have asked him what his personal perfect lens kit was 😉

Is that the Dallas Divide in Colorado heading towards Telluride?

It’s very close to that area… a bit closer to Telluride off of Silver Pick road

I bought one the 7RIIIa for 2000€ with taxes. Makes the choice harder.

I can get a a7riiiA for $1718 brand new with my student discount. Worth it?

      I would say that’s a total win!

Yes ! The A7RIII are still excellent in 2022 and will be for years to come !

For an APSC user upgrading to full frame cameras, R III is probably the best choice. This is because the APSC users can still use their APSC lenses on R III in crop mode even though resolution is cropped down to 18MP, but still good enough, especially considering its lower prices purchase a used one.

Just picked up an a7riii for 1250 I mean at that price it's hard to pass up. Especially for the casual photographer and run and shoot person. Have the zv-e1 for video so thats covered now the a7riii for photos.

Great combo. I actually have gotten nostalgic for the a7riii… took a lot of my favorite shots with that camera

Sony is tweaking colors with every new camera. I generally like the output of A7Riii. I didn't like what they did with A7Riv, so I'm naturally apprehensive about the new A7iv. Did you have a chance to compare.

    • @summitbid

Brandon has preordered the a7iv so we’ll be able to compare. Reviews I have seen have said that it has updated colors compared to the a7iii but not how it compares to the riii and riv

I had the Sony A7RIII which are excellent, now I have Sony A7RIV and A7RIVA and I do not see any "tweaking colors" ! Maybe you use the wrong software ?

If 42 megapixel are enough for you, then the Sony A7RIII are still an excellent Camera in 2022 and in 2023 and will be for years ! I sold my Sony A7RIII, but only because I have the Sony A7RIV and Sony A7RIVA.

One of the things that really set me back on the a7 iv was the fact that it's a 6fps camera! And thats a thing that is really annoying as thats clearly a cripple set by Sony 😤 Uncompressed raw fps is a spec that clearly is left unmention in 95% of the spec sheets and reviews!

I'm looking at going to Sony for a full frame camera for photography first and foremost. A7R III looks more and more attractive used ($16-1800ish). I'm coming from a 26mp APS-C, and while A7III are everywhere pretty cheap, I like the idea of bumping up my MP, as well as my sensor size. A7RIV with its lack of lossless compressed just seems *too much* - A7RIII's main downside seems to be the AF is a little worse than the A7III... but I'm coming from a worse AF, so I don't think I'd miss much. A7R III might just be the one...

Hello. Great video. I'm an A7R2 user. Been shooing mostly landscapes with it for the past 4 years. I have recently started dong wildlife, portraits and some BIF. The camera take amazing photos handheld and on a tripod in AFS mode. However the camera's AF system stinks as mentioned.
I recently ordered an A7R3a including an extra battery for $2000 and an A7RIVa for $3000. I was only planning to keep one of them. Been using both with the 100-400 GM and the AF is noticeably quicker and better on the R4 than the R3. On paper, the R3 fixes all of my complaints about the R2. My main concern with the R3 though is the focusing system. All though it is better than the R2, I don't know if it makes sense to get it now.
The A7RIV does feel great in the hand but I notice the noise a bit more especially as the ISOs climb. The detail is amazing from the 61 MP sensor when taking photos in great lighting conditions. After shooting with both the A7R3a and A7RIV cameras I can't believe I shot with the R2 for so long. It is no longer fun to shoot with it.
I would like to get an A1 but I can't buy one at this time. Several folks have suggested the A1 or A7IV. I would also like to get the 200-600 at some point and I heard that it does not do well with the A7RIV.
Do you think I should keep the A7R3a considering the price I got it for and then add a second camera later?
    What do you recommend?
    Thanks!

Brandon, you should curb the word LIKE. You like use it like quite alot. My daughter uses like quite a bit and it gets annoying.

Like, it would be cool, if like if we used this video, like, um, you know, like... to play a game with a "like" counter. :-) Just don't do it with whisky shots or one will be sauced in the opening minutes.
All kidding aside, I enjoyed your discussion. I picked up both, an A7r IIIa and A74, over the holiday, but will be returning the A7r3a without even taking it out of the box after playing around with the A7IV. The reason is due to the expected release of the A7r5, which will further yank the rug from the used value of the R3. The R2 dropped to $1,200 new less than a year ago while being discontinued. Thus, a little patience (if adding as a 2nd or 3rd body), or patiently shopping the used market, will result in getting this camera for a better price. But then again, if the chip shortage takes a major turn for the worse, all bets are off.

Nice video! I think sony really perfected the Sony A7riii it's hard to upgrade.

That’s really true with Sony’s gen 3 cameras… both the riii and the a7iii were so good their upgrades were kinda a letdown

In Denmark, the Sony A7 III can now be bought from new for about 2270 dollars with cashback, so does not this make a really good buy?

Sony has an amazing selection of cameras at this point, but oddly nothing that can compete with the R5 on price and features at the same time.

      Thank you for the video!
I shoot with sony a77ii. I want to go full frame. I shoot mainly landscapes. I choose between sony a7iii and a7riii. I like a7riii. For a landscape of 42 megapixels, I think they will be better than 24 megapixels. But will I be able to take pictures handheld, without a tripod, with the a7riii. What is the slowest shutter speed I can use when shooting handheld?

    • @pauljonas7301
      @pauljonas7301 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@anatoliybarsukov7795 For landscape, you'd probably be better off with a Nikon Z7, unless you're already invested in Sony ff glass.

@@pauljonas7301 Thank you, but you can still clarify.
Nikon Z 7 has slightly more megapixels. 47.5 megapixels And what else is Nikon better than Sony for shooting landscapes, from your point of view.

@Paul Jonas, you are right about Sony not completing directly with the r5. The a1 is a *slightly* better camera but I just got the chance to use them side by side and the R5 sure did not feel $2500 cheaper.
