That is the most incredible back of house ever! And beyond the way they are making sure they can establish the animals before displaying them in those incredible enclosures, but even their basic enclosures are next level! That is what the gold standard should be for reptiles keeping! Just WOW! I'm glad you were able to go despite not feeling well....thanks for your hard work Dave!!!!
@@davkaufmansreptileadventures At 5:58, I thought I heard you mispronounce the Latin name, i.e. you sounded like you said, "prastinus" or "pristinus"; the genus is correctly pronounced pra-sigh-nus (no "T" sound after the first S).
Universal consciousness is at it again! One of my clients just talked to me about what she's doing for Christmas and she's from Singapore so she's going back to visit her family who lives there. I didn't know where Singapore was but a good guess was she mentioned the high humidity and sweating right after you get out of the shower.
I love how much room they give them. The enclosures are the perfect size and they are all STUNNING. If I was a multi-millionaire (and if my husband ever changed his mind and started to like reptiles and arachnids), I'd have a house attached to my main house and it would be dedicated to rescued reptiles and arachnids...and if I had a house dedicated to them, then I'd need another one dedicated to different mamals, all rescues obviously 😂 then I'd have to hire people to help me take care of them 🤦♀️ it's like the book "If You Give a Mouse a Cookie" or "If You Give a Moose a Muffin" 😂🤷♀️
@@davkaufmansreptileadventures I think that is the one! I just looked them up and it seems they are illegal due to their endangered status. I get the idea of banning imports from their native range but it seems silly we can’t have captive bred animals.
Thanks for the video. I used to live in Singapore and there were a lot of reptile exhibits at the zoo not shown in the video. I know the focus was the off exhibit area, but just for context for some of the comments. I would often stand in the public area and look through the glass to the keeper section wishing I could go in! They used to have a nice large king cobra on display. Btw, did you also go to the reserves looking for wild reptiles? Something that didn’t come out in the video from memory is the fact that keeping reptiles as pets in Singapore is basically illegal (exceptions are the Malayan box turtle and red-eared slider).
Great video Dav! Most of those cages are EPIC but a few of the snakes behind the scenes could use some work. At least some enrichment. Favorite part of this video is how we can’t even tell that you felt like death while filming it. Way to keep it together bro! ❤
Do you understand that otherwise those animals would have been killed. Most of them come from confiscation from well-meaning keepers. Reptile keeping is illegal in Singaporewith very few exceptions.
I love the blue tree monitors but I slightly agree my lil guy isn’t aggressive or defensive he’s just not as careful as the green tree monitors ive worked with, and as a result he kinda tears me up
Dav we love you but I have to argue the point, the second largest lizard in the world is the Asian water monitor, the komodo dragon being the largest and the Croc monitor coming in third 😉 don't hate me!!! 😊 🙏
*Dav Kaufman Adventures* I have to ask a few things: and maybe you can shed some light on the "bylaws, Florida FWC and Turtle Survivial Alliance procedures and protocols." Why is the leustic form not allowed on display in Zoological Institutions?..is it cause its a "forced genetics through man's Intervention" and not through nature? Or cause the animals are not Represented as natural beauty as opposed to a natural morph or albino? Please let me know your Expertise thoughts
All those brilliant enclosures and they're closed off to the public, tsk tsk. It's good that they're making sure the animals are established before putting them on display though. Animals shouldn't be suffering on display.
Don’t tell anything about captive collections in Singapore. Reptile keeping is unjustly illegal there and plenty of Singaporeans are going to watch this episode and feel left out and oppressed.
With the grass lizards, when Dav says "but these guys are pretty awesome" the lizard whips his head around and is like "Oh yeah I'm awesome"
Ha! I noticed that too!
That's a rad zoo, Dāv! Someday soon I will have the means to join you on far more of these adventures. That's the dream!
I would love that!
Why do you want to support a regime that made even reptile keeping illegal? There are so many other places in SE Asia with the same species to visit.
I love videos like this
I respect the heck out of the facility for providing beautiful enclosures even though they’re not open to the public.

I love their reptile enclosures. All the reptiles are gorgeous and healthy. I'd love to go here someday.
It was incredible! I hope you get to go one day as well!
Takydromus dorsalis for the win!! Happy you could highlight them Dāv!
My pleasure!
Amazing to see behind the scenes of this zoo! Love the zoo tours! The blue gecko did something to me 😮 🔥
Right? Thanks guys!

Thanks Dave for another awesome adventure 😀 😎
Glad you enjoyed it
I love the chameleon

I’m so glad you asked this question bc I was wondering the same thing
Reptopia is actually the name of a new reptile store in sweden
I'll have to make it there one day

Hey! Amazing video, just curious as to what lizard is being featured at 6:19? They have amazing vibrant green scales. Thanks!

Dav, do you have a video about the best reptiles to keep in Minnesota?
No but that's not a bad idea!
I imagine a lot of reptile keepers in the midwest and colder climate would find this information helpful. Fun too.@@davkaufmansreptileadventures
You are the World Famous Dave.
9:47 never seen that snakes before Ball python is such a rare snakes🤣🤪

No, it’s not anything like that. Zoos just have a very strict policy of only displaying wild type animals. It’s really a simple as that.
No king cobras
Not that I saw
There's a king cobra in reptopia! I think u missed the exhibit. 😂
If only exotic pets weren't almost completely banned to protect the local wildlife, like the stray dogs and cats.
