Hello! I earned my certificate for S-130, S-190, and L-180 on Dec. 16, 2021, but I was unable to apply for a wildland fire position/test for my red card… is my certificate is good for me to apply for 2023? Or would I have to retake the course

Often federally you can be hired before getting your red card, so you will just have to take that in person training or refresher course prior to them issuing your red card.

I know I answered this on the live with you, but just in case anyone else has the same question...
The training on the learning portal is free, if your fire department wants you to take the training through them, they should also provide the training at no cost to you.
This of course is coming from a federal hire background. I'm not sure about contracting, Cal Fire, or municipal fire departments.

When I worked for Grayback Forestry Inc in 2012 they provided a week of training that included all the classes that were needed. I believe most contractors do provide them. Some community colleges have a fire science that offers them.

You can sign up as an individual. Just put in Private in the drop down menu.

For the ICS-100, did you have to register for the SSN or whatever it’s called. I have the write site associated with FEMA but currently confused with what to do.

@@senpaislays for ICS-100 so the fema site I don’t remember what I needed I know I had FEMA training when I did security a few years back so I just needed to get my FEMA code and redo my password but I believe you do need your SSN
