- Dr. Rowe shows the elbow hammer stretch, which can give quick elbow pain relief.
This exercise is especially good for tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) and golfer's elbow (medial epicondylitis).
It can also be used as a daily exercise to help lengthen and strengthen the muscles and soft tissues that support the elbow, giving long lasting relief.
Let us know how it works for you!

This works great!
No more elbow pain after I dropped the hammer and hit my foot.
😂
🤣
😂😂👍
Pwah that was funny
Hehehe 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Instant relief. I didn’t have a hammer available though so I used a water bottle 😆
I used a flashlight
I used a broom
I used a fleshlight.
Desi jugaad😅😂
I'm using a beer bottle
Remember everyone, nothing is instant. Give physical therapy time and you'll be well set
Can I use it for Tricep tendonitis? I have been trying to heal it for 3 weeks doing 0 elbow extension activities and still ahs not healed
@@childobliterator8133same here, been avoiding tricep exercises for weeks and it won’t go away. Taking a week of the upperbody and hopefully it will help, if not I’m going to try all this therapy
@@childobliterator8133just saw this was 4 months ago. Are you still dealing with it? Did you use this stuff to help?
@@childobliterator8133how is it now and how did u fix it
@@childobliterator8133did it work?
I did this with a 5 pound plate and felt instant relief. I throw tires for a living and can't explain how valuable this stretch is.
Lovely, thanks 😮
That tricep firing tho 🔥
My pain went away after 5 mins of doing this exercise, i used a steel bottle filled with water ! Thanks a ton Doc you're a life saver!
Glad it helped!
Ironically I used to same and I can sense relief now 🙏🙏
Yall must had minor pain? I can barely get half way I can fill it all the way to my wrist.
@@glenkanejacobgoodnights2432 Hey buddy, it seems for me, the pain has resurfaced again today due to some other cause. I followed the same video and got rid of the excruciating pain by using the steel water bottle technique. It would be nice if the doc provides us with preventive measures to avoid developing tennis elbow in the future.
@@ak9tgaming714 I believe strengthening your forearms (wrist extension and flexion with increasing weights) will fix this issue.
Reached into the toolbox, grabbed the old, faithful claw hammer, and did this. That next level was no joke! This is a brilliant idea! 💡
It works well!
@@DrRowe It certainly does! This was the funnest day I've had, to date, on your channel. I laughed so hard, when my mind came up with these comments. I thought yeah, I'm gonna have some fun with the Good Doc.
I want you to know that you've changed my life for the better! That hammer never made it back into the toolbox. I left it out, as a visual reminder to do this exercise daily. Since learning this technique, I've only missed one day. I've noticed that it has become easier, and the soft tissues are strengthening. You're an absolute genius! That's why I'm a subscriber and appreciate you so much! ♥️
Doc, You're reading my mind! I woke up yesterday and my arm was hurting and I didn't know what to do! Thanks so much! Shalom to you, Sir!

Thank you 😊 helped instantly
omg thankyou so much i feel much better
Glad you're getting relief!
Amazing.
Amazing! I love it! GAINZ 👊🏼💪🏼💯
Amazing and pretty wise...
Ya know a lot of these movements that you demonstrate are basically intuitive movements I’d make to rehab my body after a long stint with persistent Lyme Disease. I wasn’t using a hammer or prop per say but just moving my body in little ways that were needed and felt good. After repeated flares from workouts with more exertion, I finally scaled things down to more of a PT routine and slowly over time joints stabilized, strength returned, but it was very slow steady progress of bite sized micro movements. ❤
Thanks bro it made feel me better❤
Glad to hear that!
Sat on my couch and tried this without getting up to grab my hammer. It felt soooo good! I can only imagine when I do it properly per your recommendations. Thank you so much 😊
Omg it worked so well
For three weeks I have had golfer’s elbow and shoulder pain in my right arm. It’s puzzling because I’m a lefty and really favor my left arm when doing anything that requires strength. Anyway, when this video landed in my feed I had to go grab a hammer and try it. It really does help the golfers elbow and helped the shoulder pain as well. Thank you!
Life saver
Thank you thank you thank you 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for watching!
OMG THANKS!!!

Thanks Dr Rowe I'm active at 68 a drywall finisher I have never had pain in both elbow's before pressure just drying my face in the morning hurts I'm going to do this twice a day thanks again Doc I appreciate it
Thank you so much
Thanks for watching!
Not instant. But I’ll give it a shot. 3 x a day for week.
I just tried this for my elbows. My claw hammer wasn’t enough, so I upgraded to a 2lb sledge. I didn’t get instant pain relief, but the stretch felt really good. PS. I may have went a little too heavy with it. Lol
It really worked for me.... thank you
Thanks for watching!
Wow this worked! Thanks so much!! It was very painful to begin with but as I pushed on the pain, surprisingly, is nearly gone!!! 😮
Dunno if it'll work for me, but I'll sure try. And Always appreciate all your great advice for all sorts of issues over the years!
Really hope this works. Thank you.
Holy crap that was amazing 👏
Thanks a lot within one set my elbow pain is gone thanks thanks thanks alot❤

How did you know I had it? Just popped up! Scary! They are listening!!!
Omg it helped thanks so much i been in pain for three days ❤
Was skeptical at first because I always watch your relief videos but you did it again!
Dude it's basic P.T. stuff at run of the mill clinics. I had to do this back in 2002 at p.t.
Let's get hammered! 😀
HammerTime!
@@DrRowe You made my whole day, Doc.
Definitely relieved some pain. Not completely but its less of a SHOOTING pain.
Wow, instant relief. Now, I should use this more often.
Also hitting the soft tissue with hammer seems to help
Yes!!!❤❤❤❤
Darn near instant relief
Great to hear that!
Hammer time! 😀

Thanks 💯 times, pain gone in just 30 seconds....
Glad you're getting relief!
thx doc it did calm it up a little bit
after 5 days , the pain reduced a lot, , thanks for the help, I am using a flexbar for this exercise
how many times a day did you do this?
Doc...I have tennis elbow for a month now, and this video is new to me, inaddition to stretching that i do, i will incorporate this one too...keep you posted how this works out
Hope it helps you!
Hope it helped did it work out for you?
@@jeremybosco1218 if you don't do much physically best is plain old rest, for a physically active guy can definitely try this one but do not over do it and inflame it further ..just a bare minimum is sufficient to figure it suits you or not. This my advice, i kind off over did it and now I am resting getting healed slowly, if you are a smoker it will be slow recovery. Best
I’ve recently developed severe tennis elbow in my right arm (started lessons a few months ago). I can’t even fully extend or bend my arm without severe pain. Do I need to wait and rest my tendons before trying this exercise, or will this help the pain go away faster?
Hoping this works . Thabka dor the tip
amazinggggggggggggggg
Thanks a lot! Feel relief mid exercise… how often do I do it in a day?
funny thing is that I got this tennis elbow from a lot of hammering work, now Im using a hammer to relieve the pain.
Ahh man you gave me relief
Start of video: "a hammer ... you've gotta be kidding me?!"
Tries it: holy crap
Thank you I felt instead relieved! 🎉😊
Thanks for watching!
I do it with pen which was in my hand it works from pain level extreme to directly no pain at all wow just wow
I always did this with both hands clasped out in front of me. It always works.
I work out and I have really bad glofers elbow and it’s impacting my workouts is this something that will help someone like me…considering I’m a weight lifter.
