The money is clearly for things she wants, like skincare, makeup, special shampoos, etc. Mom puts aside a specific budget so she doesnt have to deny her daughter's exploration of what she wants, while still making her be concientious of expenses. Mom is definitely is still gonna provide basic necessities if they run out, it just wont be her daughter's choice of product. 175 is generous, and gives her oppertunity to budget for specific, more expensive items. My parents gave me a bottle of tresseme shampoo, no conditioner, and expected me to use it as body wash too. My makeup was a 4 year old christmas gift by the time i was a senior in high school. I didnt even own lotion. I would have killed for a parent who gave this level of shit about my wants and needs.
This is soooo beneficial my parents didn’t really teach me to budget i did that on my own out of interest in finances and a very frugal household. if they had taught me more hands on with budgeting think i would not be in the debt i am now from blowing money on credit cards in my early twenties!
They get $58/month 😂, I spend $58 on hygiene products maybe every 3 months. I dont even budget for it cause for example this month I ran out of deodorant and needed a new toothbrush, that was $15. Youre probably overusing products if youre buying a new set of shampoo and conditioner, bodywash, deodorant, floss, and toothbrush every month. Period products on a monthly basis is reasonable and besides that youre probably buying unnecessary trendy stuff that you wont be able to afford in your college/ early adult days.

@@Youcancallmesummer_I believe she stated in the past if they run out of stuff they provide more. The budget is just to teach them smart shopping for when they are adults.
Hmm I've always taught my kids not to overconsume. Places that advertise a "free" gift card if you buy $25 dollars worth of a bunch of things you dont need is just a marketing strategy to get $20 out of you. Nothing is free.
But if I'm spending $20 somewhere on something regardless I'll probably choose the place that's giving the free gift card if it's one of the places I like to shop.
Your are an amazing mom. Not only loving but also teaching them what they need to survive adn thrive in this world. My parents also gave us money monthly and If we wanted something we would save to buy it. Sometimes parents helped if needed. Remember this money for thing not necessity. Those were bought by parents. But as we got old we had budget if out of budget we spent some from what we saved otherwise our parents helped. They really taught us to get what you want while managing money.
Yep We have to remember that these "influencer" lives aren't real, it's content from people who have money to blow. Not people to take advice from. The gift card thing is a marketing ploy, I can't believe she didn't tell the child that. Gotta love capitalism.

There’s not one adult in my family that uses he/him pronouns properly and respectfully towards my trans family. I’m not saying this is the case here, but it’s important to note that this mother has had a pattern of not caring about her child’s mental health and emotions.
You are awesome Jess❤❤❤

because there's no need to be mean. just a mom showing her kid how to budget.
The almond moms are at it again
They get $58/month 😂, I spend $58 on hygiene products maybe every 3 months. I dont even budget for it cause for example this month I ran out of deodorant and needed a new toothbrush, that was $15. Youre probably overusing products if youre buying a new set of shampoo and conditioner, bodywash, deodorant, floss, and toothbrush every month. Period products on a monthly basis is reasonable and besides that youre probably buying unnecessary trendy stuff that you wont be able to afford in your college/ early adult days.
Please learn the definitions of terms.🙏🏾
shes teaching her kid about budgeting fym 💀
@intakoyaki9576 the "budget" here is more than I could spend in a YEAR if I tried! I feel like this is the opposite of budgeting 😂
@@valeriaswanneuhmm hello have you seen prices these days??? Everything has gone up rent, utilities, gas, food, that includes toiletries.. even the cheap suave and v05 that used to be a dollar is literally 3 bucks here for 1 so 6 dollars for shampoo and conditioner the cheapest brand possible.. here where I'm at dove shampoo and conditioner are 6 dollars each plus tax so 13 something.. and dove body wash is 7 bucks a bottle plus tax.. and toothpaste if you're brushing your teeth 2x a day as recommended by dentist some people do it more but I use 1 tube of toothpaste a month and floss. And by the way crest toothpaste is 4 bucks at least for the cheapest tube.. so that's 30 bucks for shampoo conditioner body wash toothpaste and floss already so at 58 she still needs to buy other shit like deodorant which is expensive now at least 4 bucks for the cheapest one at stores like krogers, target, walgreens etc. Also period products are expensive as well and shes at 34 dollars with what I named and that dont include period products, hair care products, etc... I spend money on pads, period wipes, spray for that area and that shit adds up. Yall must be shopping at dollar tree and that shit will be gone in a week the deodorant there.. sorry to tell ya. I’ve seen this video a bunch of times and I just now realized y’all are that van life family 😭💀
another life skill: don’t shop at target
Budgets are about choices. She made the choice, and she'll find out whether it was worth it to her through the experience.
That's learning.
With a $175 'budget' she can afford to shop at Target. It seems like the mother is assuming the daughter will always be wealthy. It's going to be difficult for her is she ever falls on hard times because she's used to splurging and having it rebranded as 'budgeting'. Average people don't spend nearly $175 on hygiene products every few months.
@@somewhereinspace2166 not my point but cool beans

I love this but ppl take it the wrong way like obviously if they spend too much you’ll give them extra money to get what they need but it’s very important to learn the actual value of money when it comes to necesities
Kid shouldn’t have to pay for pads or tampons
It’s not her money, it’s her parents money.
What if you have your period but the product doesn’t fit in the budget with the other stuff?
Then what do you think would happen? Obviously her parents would buy them. Or it's just common sense that you get your period normally every month so why not fit those into the budget?
@@jamiek09 I don’t know they seem like they don’t care. She needs body wash and she has to fit it in the budget. The parents don’t have a budget
In her other videos she pay for a small difference
@@Youcancallmesummer_I believe she stated in the past if they run out of stuff they provide more. The budget is just to teach them smart shopping for when they are adults.
Hmm I've always taught my kids not to overconsume. Places that advertise a "free" gift card if you buy $25 dollars worth of a bunch of things you dont need is just a marketing strategy to get $20 out of you. Nothing is free.
But if I'm spending $20 somewhere on something regardless I'll probably choose the place that's giving the free gift card if it's one of the places I like to shop.
Great parenting skills! Good job teaching your kids about life skills they'll need 👌
They really taught us to get what you want while managing money.
on a budget? $175 is a wild budget for soap and deodorant
Yep We have to remember that these "influencer" lives aren't real, it's content from people who have money to blow. Not people to take advice from. The gift card thing is a marketing ploy, I can't believe she didn't tell the child that. Gotta love capitalism.
i mean yeah soap and deodorant but also face soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, shaving items, etc. it all adds up. my face soap alone is almost $20 because i have sensitive skin and can only use that brand.
@@promisemochi but still, unless you have to re buy everything every month, it is a huge budget
they get what they want as ahe said in the video. So they absolutely get stuff they don't need. Teaching kids how to budget is getting what you need and if you have extra money, get something else if you really think you can't live without it ,or better save the money!
Ummm... what? My dad would never give me a hygiene or food budget. That seems weird to me because those are basic needs. I could see a budget for things like toys, room decor, or even extra clothes/shoes that they don't really need.
Idk maybe that's just me. Even now as an adult my dad never lets me pay for food if I'm out with him.
If you wanna teach them about budgeting and getting good money managing skills then you need them to use a budget for things they actually need
@@july3817yep! When they're adults they'll surely have a certain amount they can't go over due to their own personal budget. As with anything else.

a hygiene budget? are you serious. you need to be providing for your children. they should not have to get a budget for hygiene when you have the resources to not have to budget them.
she’s providing for her kids and the mom is simply teaching them how to make a budget and to have self control. when you’re an adult, you can’t exactly throw away your money everywhere.
She gives them the money 🙄 she explains it or are you to dumb to understand?

@@Jesus-wh4smthat makes no sense. its HYGIENE. as an adult, if i literally have no hygienic products (tampons, soap, etc), thats the one thing i wouldnt bat an eye at "throwing away money" towards. this is speaking as a broke college student who quite literally cant spend money like that. budgeting is a good thing to teach children dont get me wrong, but things happen and i dont mess around with hygiene. everyone should have basic access to it.

I would've loved it if my family could've taught me this way. Would've made things 10x easier. Good for ya'll! It seems like a good method for your family.
Do they go by she/her again? (Just wondering)
I think
Maybe she/they
Sadly, an important thing to consider and note is that many, many people are still transphobic and do not respect peoples pronouns. Even their own children’s. There’s not one adult in my family that uses he/him pronouns properly and respectfully towards my trans family. I’m not saying this is the case here, but it’s important to note that this mother has had a pattern of not caring about her child’s mental health and emotions. (From what I’ve heard she doesn’t want to be on camera anymore but here she is) it’s just a speculation, but most people don’t come out and go back. If they do there’s a reason and it’s almost always a negative one.
@@Astronatcreates i mean she respected her decision before so probably her kid wanted to be back on. And she were constantly refer her kid as they, them so i don't think this is the problem
I would use they/them just to be safe
I feel like hygiene and essential products should be bought by parents until they’re like 19-20 because it’s kinda your job to make sure they have them
We give them the money so they can learn how to shop for it and budget. They don’t use any of their own money.
@@FamilyofNomadsSo they have to pick which necessary product they have? What if they run out of body wash, tampons, or toothpaste? Do you buy them more?
@@soph7230 They are still bought by the parents, it's the parents money. And the budget is obviously enough for whatever they need not necessarily want
19-20? Every 18 year old should be able to budget their spending. And at that age the parents aren’t even legally required to do so. Those parents are teaching the children which I’m assuming does include a good amount of guidance and advice.
She’s back!
That is sooooo nice! 😊 My parents never teached me budgeting and the result was that I spend maaaany thousands Euro I miss now. I hate me so much for that now 😢
