For some strange reason my comment doesn't show in comments. Congratulations on getting married, I hope you guys have a happy and blessed life. Make Jesus the center of your life and everything else will be okay 👍🏼😊
I was just in your area last week and part of this week. We (my husband, daughter and her boyfriend) were in Louisville, then on Saturday we visited our beloved previous neighbors in Bardstown. That trip was the longest we’ve spent in KY. We are considering possibly either moving there or getting a winter home to escape our very gray, very snowy & very cold winters. I’m retired (age 52, so not ready to stay home & inside all the time- but my husband plans to work another 10 years). Our daughter just graduated high school in May, she’s attending college locally her 1st year. She is considering U of Kentucky or U of Tennessee. If you all are ever interested in renting a very small slice of your land, we might be interested. We are playing with the idea of purchasing a tiny home to keep in the south somewhat close to our daughter depending where she decides to attend college. We’ve researched the tiny home life and the different communities. Unfortunately, many communities attract folks that live alternative, liberal lifestyles. We learned that some folks that own land sometimes rent the property. Anyway, we haven’t made any decisions at this time. Next year this time, we should have a much better idea. All of that being said, if land rental is something you’re all interested in down the road, lmk. Here’s my email address: heideljulie@yahoo.com that’s heidel with an L at the end. Many people think it’s an i. God bless you both. Congratulations on the wedding. 🕊️🌹🕊️ May Jesus always be the center of your life together.
Welcome back! Garden looks great! I am so inspired to get the cold crop netting because I pulled all my cabbage a month or so ago due to bugs. I haven’t started celery yet, but looks like I better get on it!!
Amen to the landscape fabric. Last year we didn't have the landscape fabric and this year we do! Saves so much on my fingers pulling all of those weeds!
Congratulations guys great to see ya back and Zach nothing wrong with buying some starts from locals I do plus I direct seed also and the ground cover is a game changer my garden seemed like it was a mess when the weeds would come but not nomore but the garden looks great and yes grow only what ya’s eat unless your going to sell them to make extra money keep producing guys ❤
I use Zuchini in a chicken and zuchini casserole . I put 2 chicken breast in a baking dish with add chopped up zuchini ,diced tomatoes with sauce ,herds of your liking . Bake at 350 degress for 45 minutes then add shreaded cheese ( i use mexican mix) Then bake a few minutss longer until cheese melts .
Hopefully have picked those green beans before they got woody and yr basil also as it is flowering which changes the taste and dies back (you can slow it down by cutting off the flowers) - yr other herbs look like they need a feed. Good to see you back - garden looks great. Congrats on the nuptials. 🎉🎉
Welcome back and congratulations ❤🎉 🍾 your garden is growing beautifully, each year is different and you’ve already learned so much for your area! I’ve been gardening for 30+ years in Arizona ( zone “close to the sun” 😂) but through trial and error over the years I manage to supplement our fresh produce etc and I thoroughly enjoy each season and year! ❤
The garden looks amazing! Love you planted the different beans. I've not ever known anyone too and never understood why. I planted 6 black bean plants last year and got 3lbs of black beans which we eat lots of.
Those banana peppers are so good cooked in a roast. Just throw one or two in your roast when you cook it. Gives a great flavor. Congrats on your wedding. Garden looks good.
Good to see you again. Congratulations on your wedding. Your garden is awesome. I have basil and marigolds around each tomato plant. Make cowboy candy with the jalapeños. Tasty relish. This heat is hurting my little garden. I finally put a shade cloth over them to protect the buds of tomatoes. Thanks for the update.
Congrats on your wedding! ❤️I planted wisteria to shade my deck years ago and it is such a joy! Highly recommend. I had to get blue moon for the north Wisconsin climate but you will have more choice. I love zinnias too! Thanks for the tour!
Greetings from Washington. Your garden is doing so well! I’ve purchased my onion plants from Dixondale Farms in Texas for the last two years and what a difference that has made. I find the cost to be reasonable too at $16.00 for a ‘bunch’ equaling a minimum of 4 dozen plants. The more you buy the cheaper it gets. The time, energy and space saved by not starting them myself has been awesome. It allows me to use my limited seed starting space for other things. All of our garden space is in raised beds which has worked well for us. We did try some in ground planting last year but the vole and mole pressure was too much and we lost everything. I am trying one small, in ground bed area this year with some squash. I read that voles don’t like jalapeños so I planted some jalapeño plants around the space as well and so far so good! All your hard work is paying off. Well done!
Firstly, good to see you back. Speaking of cabbage worms; they should be called Every Thing worms. They hit my Brussel Sprouts, Radishes, and even some Bell Peppers. It would be nice to be able to cover everything.
My dad would put an old alarm clock radio out by the sweet corn at night to deter raccoons once it started getting close to harvest. Grab one at Goodwill
Vine borer has been horrible this year, it’s taken out 12 yellow squash plants and 7 zuchinni so far. Seeding my first fall round of them to hopefully plant once their season is done.
Been looking forward to this video! Looks great! Love seeing you grow in all of this learning about farming and growing things both plants and animals ❤
As someone who also lives in eastern Kentucky, I totally understand all the heat that you have had recently. I think that you were very smart to provide all that spacing for your squash and melons because they will definitely spread. I have three different varieties of squash and a couple of watermelon plants that I planted way to close together so it looks like one big plant/patch when in fact it is about 8 different plants. Live and learn since this is my first year gardening. I appreciate the tips you provided based on what you have experienced the last couple years of gardening and wish all the best when it is time to harvest.
Grow Seascape strawberries in landscape fabric. They don't sucker much and are day length neutral so they make berries all summer. I found that strawberries grown in raised beds mildew because of lack of air flow. Congratulations on your marriage. I am looking forward to seeing some pictures.
Zuchini makes the best bread with walnuts in it too. Or fry it slice in 1/4 inch round pieces dip in scrambled eggs then in flour and egg again then in crushed up rites charkers fry in olive oil till golden brown on both sides . place on bread with mayo salt or pepper ( slice of tomatoe). Even toasted bread works great too .
It's heartbreaking but I'd recommend picking all those apples before they are ripe. It helps the plant put more energy into the roots the first year and you will have a healthier tree and larger more consistent harvests for the years to come.
Congratulations 🎉. I think next season I Will also use landscape fabric on my allotment. The weather this year in the Netherlands is not a good allotment year. Only the weeds are growing crazy! I have to find away to water them because I can only juse a drip when I am on the allotment because of the other people. Nice vlog!
Lisa not Bob so glad you’re back and what’s been going on. Congrats to you and new wife. Lol I change my little city back yard garden every year. The squirrels love to get in my garden along with bugs. Pill bugs are my problem this year. Never before and my son thinks it was the dirt I bought. Anyways can wait to see you guys more.
Congratulations on your marriage! Would it be better to put the drip tape under the fabric to water the crops next year? Thank you for the garden update, I just love whatever you film and share with us!
Whow! Fantastic job. The crops are just beautiful. I have a question for you. Is it possible that the cantaloupes and the cucumbers could cross pollinate? Congratulations on your marriage 🎉 I know that when the crops are growing, like yours, your busy harvesting, and canning and freezing. Hope you will do some videos on your canning and freezing procedures. Loved your 2024 Gardening Tour. Remember "Men" make great gardeners too.
There is a onion maggot that rots them you'll see them if you unlayer the onion. This is my 3rd year and first time with it. They live in the soil. I planted in my raised beds and they didn't have it just the ones in the ground. You could not see the rot till pulled up.
Question on the tomatoes. Did you keep adding the weave as it got taller. I like this idea as the stakes they sell end up bending over due to the weight of the plants.
We use weed fabric for the first time this year too! Can you share how you planted your carrots in the fabric? I grew mine without fabric because I didn’t feel like I had a great idea of how to use fabric.
we just burned strips in the fabric and planted in those strips. We may do a raised bed for the carrots next year thought because carrots dont like to be over fertilized and we compost our soil in the off season.
Hello. Good to see you back on TH-cam. I see you here from Brazil🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷

If you plant squash around your sweet corn it will keep the raccoons out they will not walk through the vines.
