I saw some amazing snow white guppy fish in my local fish shop when building an aquascape this week. I decided I needed to take a trio home and get them breeding so I can have my own snow white guppy army!

Baby guppies go to the top water after birth it’s where the most oxygen is in the tank and that is just where they hang out. You have to put floating plants for them to hide. I rip the base off my fake plants for them to hideaway.

Been breeding guppies for fun for years. Been watching you and actually have a 2.5 gallon planted tank and a 125 gallon planted tank, inspired by the knowledge you gave me, and when u and fish shop matt did that big tank. (Goodness I hope I didn’t get his name wrong) 😂❤️

10:56 That little plastic curve for the filter is awesome. I am running a Father Fish setup with soil, compost, and sand with a lot (for me, maybe not for you haha) of plants but my 10 gallon tank has no heater and no water flow, which I think is important for plants to clean the system.

New subscriber here :) stupid question but what temperatures will guppies be happy at? I have a tripical tank, a good sized one, but I also have a little unheated one in my lounge too. right now, just 2 white clouds in it. I'm exploring what else can go in this little tank without adding a heater.

MD! Love dealing with guppies, I started off with 6 female 13:58 and 3 males, now I have maybe 40-50 babies?
They breed quick and fast, just thought I’d mention some of the juvies maybe 3 months old now, only just starting to get their colour have been eating the babies! Now I kinda knew this was gonna happen, and it’s the whole survival of the fittest, lots of hiding places, but worth a mention! Great simple build, the plants bring it all to life.

Oh I just bought one of these. I wasn’t impressed reminded me too much of common Mollies but my niece was in loved and we named him (of course) Olaf. And he’s a ditzy lil bugger legit terrified of his own reflection. Idk if you have kids around but in Frozen 2 Olaf sings a song about “this will all make sense when I get older” and gets terrified by a “reflection” in the water, so it’s actually hilariously perfect.

Question, isn't crushing your root tabs defeating the purpose? My understanding is root tabs are great for root feeders because it's slow to degrade allowing the roots to have access to nutrients over a period of time. So crushing them would Jumpstart your innert soil but your water column is going to pull a fair bit out of the soil. You obviously are getting results just wondering your thought process.

It honestly looks like you have just taken a chunk of water from nature. I do have a genuine question, did you not worry about the glue? I'm in the invert hobby and if I dared to show I used gorilla glue on an enclosure world war 3 would break out. What wood do you use? I tried adding driftwood and it stained my tank a murky brown color.

It is almost like you knew someone got a bunch of stuff for a newbie to start their own tank for Christmas and needed a bit of step-by-step tutorial. Thank you! (you always make it look so easy, but that doesn't make me any less nervous to start...)

Patients and practice and you will be fine. I dont own fish but do own inverts and I can safely say we are always learning. You will make mistakes as we all do but so long as you learn from the mistakes that is what matters. Good luck on your fish keeping adventure.
