as a Brazilian doctor who has had some of those electric eels (we call those poraques) on my line while fishing the Amazon, one suggestion: do not touch that fish. You can prob take the charge, as you can prob take a small car crash, do not test it
Love the guppy tank! I have a 50 gallon acrylic guppy tank. So much fun adding new guppies. I would love to see them going up the tower. Thank you for sharing.
I was shocked by at least 1 eel half that size at the lfs I work at. We had 2 in the tank, felt like being zapped by my tig welder but my whole body not just my arm
I recommend bangaii cardinal fish for the Duncan tank. You could add some Acans to the substrate. Would look great. Mushroom coral would be great too in the Duncan tank. Some nice blue mushroom
About corals in SW tank: try waving hand xenia or pulsing xenia corals. They are not expensive and they will grove fast! They have a lot of movement! They are not so popular in reef hobby but they are just beautiful
A clownfish harem would be awesome im thinking of doing one myself at 1 time i had over 20 rainbow bubbletip anemones i started with 3 and learned quickly if u feed em good food like silversides and meaty foods they will split and ull have a tank full b4 u know it
The average shock from an electric eel lasts about two-thousandths of a second. The pain isn't searing -like sticking your finger in a wall socket - but isn't pleasant: a brief muscle contraction, then numbness. Basically if you walk into an electric fence it's similar
i dont know much about salt water but that coral frag tank had no movement or wavemaker , i though corals needs that wavemaker movement . for the price coral cost i would hope they are taking care of them perfectly
The eel is not big enough to cause any significant harm (unless you had a really weak heart) that is a third of the size they attain ( if that ). It would be a good zap though.
Use some type of electric meter to test his output. I see them on the sides of other aquariums showing the ells electrical output, I have seen on video's of the ells killing crocodiles. Not a good idea to test with your hand. The guppies won't have anyone to feed them,
Joey. I'm sure you know but 600+ volts in water is extremely dangerous. Not worth the risk. My father is a career plumber on a shipping cruise liner and he got hit with 440 while fixing a leaking pipe. Turn half of the hair on his head white instantly and it has been that way for the past 5 years. His right hand still shakes constantly. Please joey. Be careful. Much love.
Submerged even partially in water, 100 volts can be fatal. Obviously there are many other variables that can't be accounted for, and behaviours of both human and animal that can't be known ahead of the event, but it's not worth the risk. It's utterly absurd that he would even say it out loud.
Do you have any videos of how you made the tower? I so want to do something but with a lego floored inside a smaller tank with a tower. But I'm not good at this, just the idea... awsome work
Electric eel shock, can be like fork in a toaster. Or getting hit with a baseball bat, that is electrically charged. They can choose what to give you. A zap to through you away,or a charge that could be life threatening. But got him in mostly clear water. They have a tendency to be more dosile.
"I think I'm definitely gonna take all of those guppies" "I'm gonna take all the Duncans..." *Goes home with giant styrofoam cooler with purchases" "I was pretty responsible today with my purchases..." 🤣🤣🤣 Great job on the tank!
joey you dont need to touch the eel to get shocked , i seen documentary of one the had a light bulb rig up to its tank and the eel would light up the bulb without any agitation to make it react
Go ahead and grab the eel just to join the club. It feels like a high tension spark plug wire. Lots of fun😅. Keep in mind he'll hit you four or five times before you get out of the tank. Don't forget the whiskey and beer afterwards.
Get a mother bike start it up and touch the spark plug. I did this once by accident. I was trying to push the clip that would ground it and turn it off. I missed and touched the spark plug instead. It threw me at least 4 feet away from the bike. I never forgot how it felt. I can’t even explained it. Just trust me. ❤🎉
For my personal taste I'm not too keen on the tower because it looks a bit bare. Maybe if it was open at the top and there was a big plant in it, I'd like it more. But it's most important that you like it! The tree parts are really neat and I love those, it's like a flooded forest! And I'm new, but I'd rather the eel be left alone for your health because you never know and it's not sounding worth the risk especially without medical crew near, and even then I wouldn't want to see that happen. Is there no simulation available for such a thing? It's surely not exactly the same, but..
Rams or apistogramma can be added to the tank.. It will add more interest to the tank and also Joey you know it.. A scaped apistogramma tank is long pending.. 😅
You're awesome man. I have been out of the animal husbandry trade for a quick minute. ( 9 years ). But you are pretty inspiring. I'm going to get back into Paladariums. Amphibian Rehab.
Does anybody use Stress Kote anymore? I put some in the tank whenever I introduce new fish, do a water change, or do anything that is likely to disturb & stress the fish. But I've never seen a TH-camr use it.
No update on the Duncans? Did they die because they weren't acclimated? They're 50/50 they either do well or they don't. They also need food and the elements in the water replaced. They are an LPS coral
Not that I want you to get shocked, but the eel to my knowledge only use the shock as aggression stance, if he’s use to you and your feeding him only he won’t shock you, he’s not plugged into the wall outlet
Don't test the eel - people younger than you die of heart failure all the time
Love your family
Love your fish
You don't have to prove yourself
Cheers
psssshhhhht dont say that 🤫🤫🤫😂😂
@@cassianschmid3551 Just touch it!!!!!
This is such a heartfelt comment. Reminds me that joey is a real person and not just a TH-camr. Stay safe joey.
TOUCH IT!!!!!!! (meanwhile, if you got hurt, I would feel horrible)
honestly, that's dangerous af
The guy is really passionate about aquarium, how happy he is explaining everything to the viewers 😊
I'd rather see you not get shocked Joey.
Fr, bro is playing a dangerous game 😂
I agree
Felt rather like him wanting to make a video that it maybe goes viral (on YT or TikTok) or something like that 😄
Oh you should definitely do it, I wanna know!!
Atleast wear gloves while in the tank 😂😅

O que pode acontecer? Pode morrer de alguma maneira fazendo isso?

I don't like the hand feeding part, but I fully support adding female guppies to the moss tank
only if he does at least twice as many females and he has males though, otherwise he will end up with a bunch of stressed and dead female guppies.
@@ninjadogs3389 yeps female guppies are delicate if the male to female ratio is not properly checked
I am happy to see the standing wood tank back again, I loved it back when you had the archers.
Hey! You should do freshwater shrimps with those guppys in the moss log aquarium. It would be incredible 👌🏼
Love the guppy tank! I have a 50 gallon acrylic guppy tank. So much fun adding new guppies. I would love to see them going up the tower. Thank you for sharing.
Joey talking about getting shocked by the electric eel sounds like a Jackass bit.
Rummy Nose Tetras would also look great in that mos tank. Great schooling fish.
His intrusive thoughts about the eel shocks is almost winning. I just can't.
I was shocked by at least 1 eel half that size at the lfs I work at. We had 2 in the tank, felt like being zapped by my tig welder but my whole body not just my arm
I think that what is good above all is that you love the sound of your own voice.
I love guppies and your guppies are very beautiful. I have always had guppies as I they are so beautiful.
I recommend bangaii cardinal fish for the Duncan tank. You could add some Acans to the substrate. Would look great. Mushroom coral would be great too in the Duncan tank. Some nice blue mushroom
Blue or green mushrooms on little islands
NO SHOCK! 😂😂

Can’t go wrong with Guppies! They are going to look great in the moss tank! 😎😎
The guppys look cool in that tank and i wouldn't get shocked by the eel just in case anyway great video 👍

This video was fascinating especially with that eel 😳. I was on edge watching that!
What kind of tree or pieces of wood are those? How did you get them to stay or stick to the bottom?
Lol hearing this talk about the shock about the eel from last night on twitch where Joey wanted to touch him
Yeah!!! Guppies!!! Oh that looks sooo amazing!
They are going to look awesome in the moss tank!
I don't wanna see you get shocked but in the name of science....it would be worth it to see what the eel is capable of
guppies are so fun. have u ever had Kuhli eels??
Cant believe I been watching u for a decade already my lord time flies THE 👑
Every time you say "Coral!" I'm visualising Rick Grimes
Nice to see that you are goint for smaller fish

I have always loved guppies.
What is the best temp for java moss....I have a hard time maintaining my water temp in the summer heat....I try keeping it 75 degrees
The amount of glue you use is..... a lot 😂
sort glue is that😀
I love guupes so much thanks for making the best video ❤
Guppies! Also, now I have ideas for that jungle temple I picked up at Petsmart a year ago.
So happy to see this man again. He made my childhood awesome.
I used to watch him from Bangladesh and now I’m in Canada.
Love you Joe! ❤😊
Do you have to quarantine the coral?
I think people dip their corals because of unwanted pests and such
you should get some blue moscow guppies for the guppy tank!! I used to breed them and they're amazing, very beautiful fish!

Those guppies really are very pretty. Good choice!
Were did you get the tree logs?
did you glued your drift wood?
Honestly I did not expect guppies in an aquarium that nice but it turned out to be better than I would think 😅
I saw the finished project on tamara's channel lol or is it different😅
Loving all the videos!!!OMG I loved that aquarium!! That was definitely one of my faves! I loved the “grass” with the “trees” like the tank before!
Could you potentially add some goniopora?
Very beautiful aquarium.
What is the temperature of the water when it comes straight from the well?

Now you make me want to get some Guppies. 😊
I find it strange you don't acclimatize the tank for a few weeks before you put fish into it? Is this how it's done now adays?
There are many different ways to keep fish, and when you need content for TH-cam you don't wait weeks to fill aquariums.
joey you dont need to touch the eel to get shocked , i seen documentary of one the had a light bulb rig up to its tank and the eel would light up the bulb without any agitation to make it react
Throw some Shrimp into the Java Moss tank. It looks so awesome!

Yes. I want you to hand feed the electric eel

Just one question though ,5.99$ a piece for the guppies?

Love the guppy tank
"Blessings" in the saltwater tank with the Duncan maybe pajamas cardinals

That was a good price for those guppies compared to most stores here in Houston
Where do you get healthy guppies. I use to wholesale fish, all guppies that came in would die.

Honestly speaking here in the Philippines we sell those Guppies for $1 per pair, funny to say how expensive it is in your area.
