Thanks for Watching 👍🏼
Mine arrives Tuesday. First weapon light looks like I’ve picked a good time to get one. Thanks for the review.
You’re welcome & thanks for watching. I think you will be very happy with it.
I have been looking forward to this because I have put my rm2 head in my 7a body it bright but doesn’t last long
Most open bottom holsters that index from the frame of the light not the bezel should work.
Thank for another great video
Thanks for watching!
Great light but non compatibility with the 7 holsters is kind of a deal breaker for me. Thanks for putting this out there so people like me go into it knowing what we are getting!!!!
Yes Sir! Thanks for watching Brother.
Heat gun fix’s that easily
Lol
Much thanks for this comparison. What's the run time of the HL-X vs 7A?
Check the Streamlight link I pinned in the comments. Thanks for Watching
Heat gun will fit your holster fitment it well fit 7A holsters just warm around the end of the light as you slowly press the gun into the holster it will reshape for the longer bezel
I could but it’s a nice branded custom pattern holster & would stretch out the pattern.
Also for that distance it would probably thin out the Kydex too much and create a press thru? I have a new one being made for a particular gun.
Tlr-x usb or tlr-sub for my new xmacro? Im having a hell of a time deciding. I love to look of the sub but want the rechargeable batter with the X. What say you? I need to settle on a light so i can decide on the dozen or so holster makers. If you have any experience with tier1 please let me know as well.
I like the X because you can use rechargeable or reg batteries in it, it’s dual fuel. Holsters are such a personal choice. I like armzmen and I have video and a discount code on those vids, that can save you 10% & you get free shipping if you are interested. Thanks for watching.
@BigJohnsonGG but then my thought is once I go with the X and get a holster, they will come out with the sub that takes rechargeable batteries. lol I know they will!
@sd3gunner I like the 7A better than the sub model personally anyway.
If i was getting a new holster, i would definitely get one. I'm guessing it will be about 6 months before holsters come out for them.
Werkz is making some now I think
I just got mine from T-Rex arms
I just got mine from T-Rex arms
This is the video the people needed
Thanks for watching.👍🏼
Is the only difference the HPL cap? I wonder if you take the HPL cap and put in on a 7a would it have same perfomance as the HLX.
No it won’t for long, Werks holsters has a video on it. Streamlight also recommends against doing it because it’s not wired for it or dual fuel.
I talked with Streamlight about it and that's basically what they said
Can you screw the bezel onto a tlr7 sub with the new rechargeable battery and see if the candela is the same? Thats because i want the better light output on the tlr 7 sub
Werks holsters has a video on trying exactly that, however Streamlight said it’s not recommended that’s why they came out with this version that is engineered for it & is also dual fuel rated.
@@BigJohnsonGG I'll check it out
Compares super-well against that surefire ultra, ideal for 4" barrel pistols.
Holster non-compatability is hugely frustrating...2 TLR-7a holster arrived recently 😡
I’m in the same boat, I guess going forward if you get the longer light holster then it will fit the regular TLR-7A as well.
You can easily modify the 7A holsters to fit the longer head. A dremel or a heat gun with a bit of common sense outta do the trick!
@@lowmeinpeace12 I realize that but I have a custom printed pattern holster that I don’t want screwed up. I have another custom one being made for it.
will the tlr 7-X will fit in a holster of the 7 HL-X
No I say that in the video, since the 7A is the same as the regular X in size.
Camera not probably catching the deference you are seeing. The HLX comes across slightly brighter, but no significantly as shown by the camera.
When you take the HLX farther out, it really shows then. Thanks for watching.
where did you even find the tlr7 hlx? been trying to get one
Did you watch the video, I actually say it?
@@BigJohnsonGG yeah but just in the background while I was doing other things must of missed it
Any website selling the fde version? Couldn’t find any myself 😢
Maybe put your email when comes in stock, on a site for when one becomes available. Notification when becomes in stock they will email you to buy.
T-Rex arms is selling it
The 7a def has more spill.
Agreed
Very noticeable
Very bright for such a small light
Thanks for watching my Brother!
Glad I went with a TLR7 hlx over the X300u for my Glock19
I have to say I don't get it ..after about 300 lm and what 5ooo cn why woukd you need more in a compact or sub compact pistol light? Edc gun fights at 120 yards in the dark? Crazy ..I have a olight has what 66000 Mandela after I bought is I was like ...why ? I get it on a rifle .. I guess when is there enough
I say why not have it all? Having different choices / opinions is never a bad thing.
Thanks for watching.
Blinds the opponent
I suggest checking out Sage Dynamic's video stating the TLR7 is not a duty light. It shows how important candela is over lumens. It's one thing to identify a person in a pitch black space. It's another thing to see if they are holding a weapon, especially if they are standing behind a set of headlights or something. And it doesn't have to be 120 yards, even at close distances.
