it depends on the rail and the gun you are using. If you have a full pic rail, it isn't an issue and you can use the sub up and down the rail. The CZ only has one spot for it but that is not true for all guns
I wanted a light for my P365xl. I had previously purchased an Olight PL mini v1, which fit perfectly with a Tactical Development rail adapter. My concern is that if I don't want the light, I also have to take off the rail for it to fit in a holster that is made sans light. The other concern I had with Olight is that I can't quickly swap out the battery if the recharge fails. I had looked at the TLR 6, but it was only 100 lumens, I don't care for the battery type, I don't want a laser, and putting it on and off is a pain. So when the TLR 7 sub came along, I was excited because I knew that more holster manufacturers would be willing to make this combo, taking the light off is simple, there's no adjusting where it sits on the rail, it's just one position. I'm very happy with it. Trying to move away from Olight due to increased failures and poor QC.
@@wcstrawberryfields8011 I would t say terrible. I have several olights and a few surefires. Olight is much cheaper and sometimes you get a bad egg. Their charging system is the best part for the price.
I've bought OLIGHTs for my rifle and pistol, and I sold/returned both of them because having to rely on "it being charged" in a crisis is less than ideal. You can get rechargeable CR123 batteries and they're amazing. Much longer duration, and Streamlight is MUCH more durable and water resistant.
1913 will technically fit glocks cuz that’s what p80 uses. I have an olight with 1913 attachment from my p80. Bought a new Glock 19 the olight fits jus fine with the 1913 attachment on the Glock which is why I haven changed it out so now I can switch back and forth without changing the lil piece it comes with to change out to Glock or 1913 since the 1913 works for both.
Nice comparison. I got the TLR-7 sub a few weeks ago and it wouldn’t work at all. They sent me a replacement within a week. I got the TLR-7 A a week or so later and the low switch wouldn’t work right out of the package. I’ve had dozens of their products and never had an issue until these last 2. Hopefully it’s not a sign of things to come
I bought the tlr7-a for the hkvp9sk which has been proven compatible but it keeps falling off and when I contacted customer service they said I bought the wrong light which doesn’t make sense considering there’s tons on info online proving them to work together
@@BigJohnsonGG I tried 2 different keys the 1913-1 and 1913-4 and why would tier 1 holsters sell a 200$ holster that the vp9sk and stream light tlr7a work together with it definitley should fit otherwise there wouldn’t be aftermarket support for it
You said CZ p07 but it's clearly a p10c. plus my p07 has picatinny with 3 notches instead of 1 so unfortunately this didn't help me as I'm thinking with a kydex holster. I'm still using an old tlr1 which extends beyond barrel and i want to use that on a tactical shotgun. it has worked flawlessly. now with all the different versions it's muddied the waters without being able to try them.

@@BigJohnsonGG Messaged Streamlight and they said it won't fit the PF940SC frame. They also said it won't fit the Steyr S9/S40-A1 either. Which is really disheartening. Be nice to see someone look into that for the P80 frames. $140 is a bit steep to see if a light will or won't fit.
The Olight Mini-2 fits it but, it sticks out a little bit and you have to remove the key. The groove in the Hellcat is very shallow. So, if you remove the key and just screw the two screws back in it works great. @@JoshBenware

Nicely done. Got a tlr 7, for big hands ideal. Big but with short finger hard to reach without breaking the grip. I like the turn off possibility. Accidental light discharges are a potentially bad thing.

I already have one on a 43xmos, needed one for a 48... I didn't want to bother the vendor with my screw up. Long as it will fit a fullsize rail, I'll stick it on something and consider it a life lesson. The funny look will remind me to be more careful ordering gun goodies at 2AM. 🤣

The TRL-7A along with a $7 key made by Tactical development works great on the X Macro too. Plus it works well on larger guns if you want to move it around. I think it's more versatile. @@BigJohnsonGG

Keeps calling the p-10c a p-07. Idk why that frustrates me like it does. I get that mistakes happen with all the different numbers and models we keep up with, but it was the second time that really got me. It says what it is right there on the slide but still called it a p-07

which shield? 2.0? where do the buttons sit relative to front trigger guard for your 7A? i have the 1.0 and using the recover tactical adapter rail, i can add either of these lights. just not sure where the buttons will be positioned between the two lights. he shows here the buttons are more fwd for the sub. i'd appreciate any thoughts based on your experience.
@@michaelelder9821 I ended up going with the sub on my Shield Plus. I had to put a light mount at the bottom. I've had two issues. 1. The light came off the mount once. 2. (This is important) Finding a holster. I currently have a universal holster but think it was the reason the light came off from constant pulling.
I’m trying to order a holster for my p365 macro with the tlr7 sub. They only have an option for the tlr7 or the trl7 A. Not sure if they will still fit
The biggest flaw with any TLR is they don’t have a true momentary. If you tap the switch( which should be momentary) the light stays on . If you tap and hold for 1 full second, it will go off. This is completely backwards to what it should be doing, and is actually potentially dangerous.

7A is short, also wide on all sides. 7Sub is long/ also skinnier on all sides. Simple

My fully-charged Balor Mini sometimes dies without notice. Simply goes out.

Which would be better for the Sig 365 AXG Legion? It's a 365 but it has the 1913 rails.

They come with like 7-8 keys to try or just Call or email Tier 1 & ask what they used to make it work.

I had a P-07 sitting out of camera view so it was stuck in my mind. The TLR-7 works great on my P-07.

I just got a p07 and mine has 2 slots for the light on the pick rail so the sub fits perfect.
The number of times that a P-10C was called a P-07 when the model number was visible in the vid pains me inside greatly.
When you have many guns models tend to run together.

Made the mistake in ordering the 7A for my Glock 48MOS, did not fit so I exchanged it for the Sub version..

@Big Johnson Guns and Gear will the tl7a fit on a sig 365 x macro? Because I want whichever one will fit on both, that's why. After researching I believe that's the 7a.
The 7A will fit on the X macro with an adapter from Tactical Development I believe. I wouldn’t run the sub on a G19.
You didn’t move the sub back against the trigger guard. Is that because that little tab has to fit the groove?
You can choose different type tabs that come in the box to attach it.

@@BigJohnsonGG just ordered one. I’ve seen a few videos with the sub mounted all the way back. I’ll figure it out. Figuring it out is half the fun!
Let me ask, which of the two lights will allow it to sit back all the way closest to the trigger guard on a p365 XL?
I believe they make a version just for the 365, check their website.
Currently have the 7A for my Glock 23. Looking at the sub or another 7A for my M&P Shield. Great Video
which shield? 2.0? where do the buttons sit relative to front trigger guard for your 7A? i have the 1.0 and using the recover tactical adapter rail, i can add either of these lights. just not sure where the buttons will be positioned between the two lights. he shows here the buttons are more fwd for the sub. i'd appreciate any thoughts based on your experience.
@@michaelelder9821 I ended up going with the sub on my Shield Plus. I had to put a light mount at the bottom. I've had two issues.
1. The light came off the mount once.
2. (This is important) Finding a holster. I currently have a universal holster but think it was the reason the light came off from constant pulling.

What is the difference between the tlr7a flex and these two?
The flex version came with 2 replacement tail caps. These are the same as the flex.
I’m trying to order a holster for my p365 macro with the tlr7 sub. They only have an option for the tlr7 or the trl7 A. Not sure if they will still fit
QVO tactical has one for the sub
The biggest flaw with any TLR is they don’t have a true momentary. If you tap the switch( which should be momentary) the light stays on . If you tap and hold for 1 full second, it will go off. This is completely backwards to what it should be doing, and is actually potentially dangerous.
How else would you do it?
They do have a momentary mode. You have to program it.
