  • Do you have a handful of mono audio tracks that make sense to pair in stereo? Perhaps your drum overheads are each on their own "left" and "right" track, but you'd like them combined to simplify things a bit? Here's how you can merge mono audio into stereo tracks inside Studio One.

    Great tip however it has been this way for years. Need a simple right click option from the Arrangement to combine to stereo or split to mono.

    If only it could be done in the arrange page... I came thinking you just added that option.

    I'd love to have this functionality within the arrange page or Audio Pool.

      Same. That Studio One lacks this functionality is really annoying.

    How do you know which file becomes the left and which becomes the right after the merge?

    While it's great to have this feature, it's not too helpful for those who do post-production with imported AAF files. But I'm fairly sure in the future S1 will add a feature to do this right in the arranger.

    Wow. I was looking for this for years! It's always hard to deal with projects from the "everything mono" Protools folks... :D

    Didn't know you could do this. However, an option to split stereo files to mono Left & Right would be equally useful!

    Ahh yes been looking for a way to do this for a while. Only issue I can think of is if they’re not leveled properly beforehand but this is a really nice feature.

    The add-on program Audio Batch Converter also has the feature to Merge Mono Files.

    Can't you just do this by panning one track left, the other track right, selecting both tracks, right clicking and then hitting "Mixdown Selection"? That merges both mono tracks into one stereo track.

      @gillihansmobilewelding ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Does that really work? If so, that would be a better option so you could make sure the OHs are the same levels first. Seems a lot simpler too.

    • @SmokeyMirr0r
      @SmokeyMirr0r ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes. It really works. I just did it on a project last night. And you're right, it would be a better option if you needed to adjust levels on the R and L tracks before merging them into one stereo track. Just remember you need to first hard pan one mono track "left" and the other audio track"right", select (highlight) both audio tracks in your session, right click, "Mixdown Selection". This will automatically create a new stereo bounce of your 2 mono tracks below your 2 mono tracks, while also muting the mono tracks. Try it out ;)

    @gr8ballsofir ปีที่แล้ว +3

    nice trick, but I personally like to keep OH L& R separated for levels and panning. I know this can be done with stereo channels new panning options, but I feel my way gives me easier/better control.

    Cool, how do you make a two mono files out of a stereo file?

  • @charliexu5013
    @charliexu5013 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Great video! But I think we really need this function in the arranger window to avoied potential clipping (if the mono track is too loud). And, I had a session which have about 30 or 40 tracks need to be combined to stereo, I think if I can do it in arranger, it would be much easier

    beautiful. thx.
    I got one issue in which I always run into, maybe you or someone who know the answer can help me.
    I often create the song folder myself, cause I put a Waves subfolder inside where I have some wave files which I wanna import etc. Okay so now the problem is that I create the song project after I created the folder myself. Now Studio One sees that the folder already exists, and instead of using it it creates an new one with (1) name extension to distinguish it from the one I created.
    How can I tell S1 to use that folder instead of creating a new one?
    Or am I really always forced to first create the song project first and then put my wave files inside the song folder?

    How does the file browser know which track is left or right when it combines them?
    Does it just pan the first one left and the second one right?
    Can this be done with more than 2 wav files?

    Thank you

  • @TimAndrey
    @TimAndrey 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Even easier... Select 2 mono tracks (Regions) and execute "Export Selection". But you can put any processing on each mono track, and it will all go into export.
    --------
    Еще проще... Выделить 2 моно трека (Региона) и выполнить "Export Selection". Зато можно на каждый моно трек повесить любую обработку, и это все сбаунсится в стерео трек.
