      Honestly , it is a lot like Sonar Platinum was. I see a few new things. But it almost looks like a replacement since Gibson killed the real Sonar. I am very torn between this and Cubase

    The gain knob is a much needed addition, I think every DAW should have it. I've learned some things today ,Thanks Joe!

    I love having in-depth videos like this. They are super helpful, and I don't need to pay for a special course just to learn how to use the DAW. BTW, Studio One is may appear simple on the surface, but it has layers of complexity. Yet, it never feels cumbersome or daunting. It is extremely user-friendly, and that is what won me over beyond any other DAW. I particularly love the drag-n-drop automated features built in to Studio One like some of the stuff you outlined in this video. More please! Keep it up. Thank you.

    This video was amazing! As a remote session drummer, a lot of times clients just want stems, but I always send them a rough mix first, and the whole mixing top down from the drum bus has been eye opening to say the least! And, the parallel compression of the whole kit at once instead of by each track was the icing on the cake! Thanks for sharing your knowledge, Joe!

  • @abj358
    @abj358 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I've been doing parallel the hard way. Thanks for the reminder about the splitter. Knew it was there, just forget to use it. Cool! Also, thanks for showing how to set up the gigantulous level meter. Going straight onto my current mix. Joe, you're the best, man!

    I totally forgot about the in-track multi routing! Wow now I remember that's one of the features that got me to buy Studio One in the first place.. Like Parallel Compression - that used to take me 20 minutes just to set up my gear! Now it's just a drag and drop and the Q split feature....OMG (w/ davey504 accent) .................5 STARS easy. Hey! Very useful I've been mixing with studio one for years and I still learned a couple of new things from this video. When it comes to plugin selecting or plugin dragging, I don't even use my mouse anymore to select any of my most used plugins cause I use macros. It would've been very handy to be mentioned on the video too cause it changed my life. Once I setup my macros now if I wanna open a EQ on a channel I just hit 'shit + command + E' and a new Pro-Q3 comes out, 'shit + command + S and a Saturn' comes out. All my most used plugins at one hit of my left hand and it made me save hours.

    Thanks. I learned a lot. I'd already spent half a day trying to figure out something at the top of each channel that I had not seen before and wondered what it was. I got real confused. But then you explained the "Audio Device Controls" setting and it became crystal clear.
    And a question about how to "clear" or reset the settings which Studio One sends to the StudioLive series 3 mixer for the Fat channel. It kept changing the mixers settings and then I'd have to reset them manually; which took a while. There's got to be an easier way to handle that. Thx.

I follow you from Bahrain. My name is Khaled Khalifa and I benefit from the definition and useful information you provide, but there are some episodes that do not have English subtitles printed on the video of the episode, as this helps a lot in translating the explanation into Arabic, so please kindly upload the translation in English to the rest of the videos, such as this important video, which has no subtitles. Thank you very much and best regards.
