Oh my goodness, we just booked a cruise on Sun Princess in a regular mini suite, and I'm seriously hoping the motion sensor lights are in that one as well. That would be incredible. Coolest innovation I've seen in a cruise bedroom in a long time.

We sailed on the inaugural cruise of the new SUN Princess (February 28th) in a Reserve Collection Cabana Mini-Suite and loved the location of our cabin that opened directly onto the Cabana Deck. The cabin is smaller, since part of the space is taken up by the sunroom. My wife enjoyed reading out there on the mornings I slept in, but this is certainly a trade-off from a traditional mini suite. The Cabana Deck was rarely used by many people since it was too cool to enjoy the deck on some days. We discovered that any cabin classified as Cabana Mini-Suite has access to this deck, not just the cabins facing it directly, so it might get crowded in warmer climates. We are booked in a similar cabin in January, so we shall see. The Reserve Collection Dining Room got crowded around 7:00 pm each night, but this might change once the theater is operational. Overall, we loved the layout of the new ship, and will hold our decision on the Cabana Mini-Suite until January.

This is great information and we can definitely see the appeal of the cabana mini suite. We can envision curled up with a blanket, a book and the sound of the ocean. Here’s hoping you have warmer weather in January!

Your have the most comprehensive reviews on TH-cam! Your video actually shows the middle of the room curtains. Does anyone know if this is in every balcony room?
No just mini suites.
A middle of the room curtain system would be a game changer in the industry because I love the old design of their walk-in closet. I love it because someone can be changing their clothes and the other can open the balcony at the same time.
Another can watch TV while another sleeps with a mask and noise cancelling earphones. The possibilities are endless.

I was booking a Premium Deluxe Balcony or just deluxe balcony on Sun, and what I found was that the 3rd and 4th guest room is only offered with sofa by the balcony. If you prefer a bed by the balcony, I didn't find a balcony room on the deck plan that allowed for 3rd and 4th guest. There is a red dot in rooms that allow for up to 4 guests. You can look and see where widest part of room is, and that is where the bed is. Again, I couldn't find a room that included 3r and 4th guest with bed by balcony.

Totally understand what you mean about the balcony being a little bit underwhelming although to be honest from our perspective anything with a balcony looking over the sea would be incredible ha ha. Always longed to go on a cruise ❤

Yes they do! It is wider.
I have never sailed on Princess but if you are in a suite category on most ships you would have a double vanity. Or one long one with faucets on each end and your toilet is in a water closet.
My wife and I are considering this line for a Mediterranean cruse in the fall of 2025.
Is this line have alot of families/ kids or is it catering to couples like say Celebrity and it's edge class.

In our experience Princess does not cater to families or children as much as other comparable lines. However, we believe they are trying to change that with the new Sphere class ships.
Hmm. Well, according to your picture, our cabin should have sofa by the balcony but in the description, it says sofa by entrance!
Yes Princess needs to correct it because that’s been wrong for awhile. We decided to put it in anyway. It’s bed near entrance! You get the reward for picking that up first!!! Thanks for watching.
Cruising on the Sun this fall. Bummed about the balcony furniture as it does not look comfortable at all and deluxe suites don’t even come with ottomans.
Considering the reserve mini suite for 2025 but only deck 9 is available for our sailing date. Do u know if the reserve mini suites are on the other upper deck or just on deck 9 only ? TIA also which side is better even or odd number for views ?
This one was on deck 17, and there are other decks besides 9. It is hard to say which side of ship without knowing the itinerary. Often at sea you are far from land. For us it becomes an issue of wanting a sunny or shady balcony.
Can you explain the difference between a Reserve Mini Suite and a regular Mini Suite?

Which mini suites include Reserve Dining? I don't see it on the booking section. Do the Cabana Deck Mini Suites include Reserve Dining?
Until mid October all reserve collection mini suites have reserve dining. After that they will be called sanctuary collection mini suites. You have to go through suite bookings to find these on the princess website. Some mini suites do not have special dining, and are just called a mini suite.
