How To Defeat The Hive Mother Easily - Core Keeper

Today I wanted to talk a bit about Core Keeper and helping everyone out there being able to defeat the Hive Mother quite easily. This is a really neat trick that can save you a lot of time by just crafting a few items and just placing them around the boss. Hope it helps.

One more thing you can do to prepare is go fishing for the Green Blister Head in the clay biome. They make you immune to acid damage for 30 seconds, so grab a few of those fishes and make some meals with them.

Thanks for the guide. The traps method works great! Laying down traps also works for the Larva Boss to get it to stop and fight you.

Just build walls around the roots that spawn adds then you don't need spikes or worry about adds at all

Is this easy mode? Because in hard mode you get so many mobs and the acid stays with the spikes. I didn't see any acid on your spikes. In hard mode I found the only way to defeat this boss is to carve a moat around the boss and stay on the outside of the moat. Then the mobs can't reach you. I made the moat 2 wide. I also put spikes on the inside of the moat. 1 row in a ring. It was still hard as she is a bullet sponge. Note that you have to go beyond a certain radius to carve the moat as near the boss you can't break the ground.

Well I am playing the standard mode and acid does stay on certain spots since in my first try I died to those.

I was able to do this similar to the video in hard mode however it required quite a bit more prep. I crafted all the iron gear and reinforced it, I had a grub egg necklace that gave 18% to melee damage, my owlux pet had 3 of the 5% movement speed increases, i crafted enrage potion for 32% melee damage for 30 seconds(i needed about 3), healing potions, and i crafted mushy pepper wrap from mushroom and bomb pepper for 21% movement speed and 4.2 health per second. I did phase one killing eggs, then when phase two hit I had to kite circles around the boss while tanking the acid damage and avoiding the larva spawns. The spikes in hard are more to keep the larva from reaching you than killing. It takes about 20+ spike trap hits to kill the big larva.

Bonus tip, the Iron Hoe can pick up 4x4 tiles of both the traps and acid slime after the fight, or if you need to reset after a failed attempt
