- In this video i make a WW2 German helmet and i show you how to make it for yourself. For this project you will need cardboard, glue, newspaper, fabric, paint, and string.
When i did this project i put the hot glue marks of the outside making the surface a little bumpy also the size of the liner pads were too small.
WARNING this helmet will not protect you and is for display purposes only.
This is underrated, I collect original German helmets and this resembles an actual m35/ m40 all day, keep it up.
Thank you, I am also a collector and i had a M40 helmet to reference it off.
My grandma had one, from my great grandfather
@Bonez King how is it harsh?
i also collect german helmets.can you show me your helmets.
Ikr this is like the real deal ones
Ahh yes the legendary last ditch German helmet made in 1946 the Papierhelm it’s full paper construction helped the Germans feel better after they lost the war
Underrated comment

Want to hear something funny?
Argentina made this time of helmet due the lack of equipment to stamp the steel.
You can find them as (Casco aleman de cartón prensado, casco Velcro) they were used only for marches and paredes military events.
After that during the Falkland war, the made them from aluminum, I got one of those aluminum ones.
Sad thing is is this is 10x better than any repro I’ve seen
Even the ones from international military antiques and at the front?
I will make my own from metal plate😀
@WORLD WAR 2 Fan !!! Thanks!
@@codjonnet617 did it work?
@@zeidon4193 no :(
@@codjonnet617 oh damn sorry to hear that man I've been trying to look for simple way to make helmets but haven't yet so I bought a Hungarian WW2 helmet from eBay I was about 25$
@@codjonnet617 sorry that's super sad what's even more sad I can't make this I don't have any cardboard glue cloth string so I can make it
i am genuinely surprised with what some people can achieve with some so simple as cardboard, well done!
shape definitly resembles a german helmet!
with a bit of extra glue or paint, you might even be able to make the surface completely smooth!
This is the M35 helmet. It is my favorite Stahlhelm design. Also, this was helpful. I'll try to build one, and if it turns out good. I'll give you a shout-out.
Dud it turn out good
Did it work out?
I got so busy after posting this
I had no time to do it
Looks realy good
Thanks!
@@greatwarcraft1496 Do you have the helmet model link? I would be very happy, I will make one today
Even though I already have a Finnish M55 Converted to a M40, I feel like making one for my younger brother just to wear.
Its cool but one little error means the entire thing fails
Yep I tried to make it and it failed
@@outlawvlogs9812 same then I just bought one
@@outlawvlogs9812 the only thing i bonded them together is with the help of glue gun and staples
true
Mine is actually a bad shape lol
that's actually really good, I have a repro M35 and it looks really close other than the liner
Good idea fro my lockdown project, thank you. I have always wanted one, I even have the right colour paint!
I am in the process of making this, I tweaked it a little to make it more accurate, like for example for the liner, I cut it to be like the actual thing and put bails for the chinstrap on it
I love this, took me several attempts to get right, mine is an M42 in 2 tone normandy. Nice work :(
I cant shape the back part right. Can you help me
That liner looks like an m16 stahlhelm liner
Ja thats what i said. I was looking through the comments to see if anyone said anything
For me personally I found that trying to make the visor fit properly was the hardest step apart from that easy 🤙
Thx for this video. I was trying to make the headset of Panzer cop from Jin-Roh with cardboard ,and found this video.
Great work! I also liked the news print camo version!
Very good man new suscriber 👏👏
I love war type aesthetics so I'm gonna sub.
This looks really convincing
Nice, same technique on how I make my helmets.
this is kinda awesome keep going dude
amd for a future episode can you please make a m38 paratrooper helmet
THIS IS AMAZING! I want to see the brodie helmet :>
The liner is a bit innacurate, but other wise, way better than I can do.
Yea it is, the real one was to complex to make with lots of different liner pads so i made that thing instead. My WW1 M-16 has a more accurate liner.
I remade it, and by god does it look beautiful.😊
Hello! I was really impressed with the beauty of your work! I wanted to ask you this thing: which glues do you use? Did you use paper-reinforced fabric to make the pieces inside like leather? Thanks a lot and if you have, give me some advice in the construction!
I used a hot glue gun and for the fabric i used non stretch cotton. I would also say try to keep the glue marks on the inside as in the video you can see after paper mache you could still see the outlines from the hot glue.
@@greatwarcraft1496 thank you very much!!!!!
@@babyapepazza3806 Always happy to help :)
@@greatwarcraft1496 this is perfect and you did the detail down to a tee

Did u use your school elmers etc

ok im makeing a ww1 german helmet and i was having problems with doing the trick were you cut then fold triangles and this gave me a whole new perspective
This helps a lot. I can have one but I don’t have to by one off of Amazon
Love the videos mate 💪🔥🔥 I was one of the first to see this video like over a year ago. u basically inspired me to collect Military artifacts 😊👌

And that my friends is how a chinese helmet is made in 2021 😊
Lmao

Very nice, Merry Christmas, stay safe and take care, man
Edit: After making this halfway, I realised that Ive made the Soviet m40 helmet
Could you put a list of all of the dimensions of all of the pieces
This is amazing!!!
I always wanted to make my own helmet, but MY idea was, to make it with a balloon and put some toilet-papier with wallpaper paste on it! But THIS is so much cooler!!!
Next week I´m gonna make my OWN, I swear!!! :)
THANKS!
Thank you bro saved my life
if you just watch the 1st two minutes you’ve learned how to make a german paratroopers helmet
very nice this will come in handy thank you so much
That....I...but...that's freakin awesome!
hi i am wondering the german gas mask u made ww1 whats that head pice made out off
Literally I am cry because is hard :(
i would have covered the dome shape with pva glue the sand it but, its still great, keep up the good work
How do you apply your paper mache?
This is what I will wear when I take my next trip to Europe!
Excellent.
If you moved the front liner pins to the side, gave it a small hook at the back and painted it in a lighter green you'd have the ww2 Hungarian m38 helmet
looks great: 3, excellent work.
Great work!
very creative...
Awesome !!!! I gonna Try it by myselve
If you keep it up you could probely get 1 million subs
Ur sick ur really good at this
I made one, used tape and thick cardboard but its still good so i will paint it.However i had 5 failed attempts.Do not try with paper
the bar of metal is a liner band
Can you add templates for the parts
I will neve be as good as you, but I'll try anyway cause it looks amazing!
also remember guys theres ones for $50 on amazon just wait for your birthday or christmas and ask for one
this is for someone who wants to have a cheap prop without spending 50$, and it serves its purpose
r
Exactly. If you were a reenactor or airsofter then yes get a repro but this is good for display or small fan films, cosplay, etc
What type of glue did you use to make this? I would use my hot glue gun but I’m worried it will add bumps or look like a mess
Check the discription
thank you you i am soo intrested in helmets
Love this. I was looking for a tutorial for a doll helmet and this is what I was looking for. So so helpful. Thanks much.
spray paint or paint brush
Make a fallschirmjäger helmet next!
Hi! Can you writethe exact measurement please? Thank you
Exact measurements or pattern would hve been helpful
Wow very nice
wow germany helmets 😍😍😍😍😍
After you make that, you can try to make a casted helmet by using that replica
Wish me luck guys, boutta make a stahlhelm to flex on a party tomorrow.
how did it go?
This looks sick! Also it would also be perfect to make a kabuto helmet
Could you make a M1 US Vietnam Helmet For Video?, That would be great
how did you paper mache?
that is sick
Nice.
If you cut the front in a curve it’s a paratrooper helmet
What do you guys do to achieve a smooth finish? When I first tried to make one I used the paper mache, plaster coat but it still left it looking rough unlike a real one so I just gave it the sand + spray paint treatment like the US soldiers would their M1 helmets lol. I want mine to look smooth so I might use some bondo + filler spray paint by rustoleoum in the future.
Bravo!
How long does it usually take to make?
good
Please make another german stuff
I love your video nice
ACHTUNG
Ok
Imma subscribe you deserve more subs and views
İ tried make it but failed at first stage because cardboard always folding
And if you put a helmet cover on it, no one will ever know the difference.
Nice
Pls make more videos!!!!!
I subbed u
Can you make a metal German helmet? We would like it a lot
With metal hed have to end up smithing it or pressing it down with special presses. Theres literally zero point in making a metal one you might aswell just save for a repro
can you make one on the pickelhaube?
later on ths man would have made a dang tiger tank
don't give up
Nice m8
I lov it
