      I won't harsh on Dickey Betts, however, he is underrated because he just plays. Sometimes that happens when a instrumentalist is really good; he goes on automatic. I've seen the Allman Brother's perform LIVE many times, and though his performance is technically good, he has underwhelmed the audience.

      Between Tom producing and all of us playing together, everything went pretty smoothly. The only thing I didn’t like about recording that album was David Goldflies, the new bass player. His playing wasn’t in the toilet, but it wasn’t very good either. The guy must have thought he was getting paid by the note, the way he would play those banjo notes on the bass.

    • @frankoshields6643
      @frankoshields6643 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      And then the soulfull voice of Greg Allman and the country voice of Dickey. Great song writers, great musicians. Made all the other greats at the time stand up a listen, Clapton, Page, Beck, Hendrix, Terry Kath who tends to get over looked by most( Chicago fame ) was Inspired by Duane Allman. What we lost when the 3 great guitar players Allman, Hendrix and Kath died at such young ages. But what was left by these 3 greats will always be recaptured everytime someone hears them for the first time. Betts will be there some day. Saw him couple years back he still has the groove.
