I really like how you listened to your viewers when you got some suggestions on how to make things more interesting. Longer video, more detail, more explaining and also a more "advanced" redesign! Love your work!
I like 99% of the redesigns he does. Just not this one. I guess it's because I have such a love for these 3rd gens I had high expectations. It might have turned out better if he didn't try to base it off of the new Camaro and just updated it.
Maybe it's just me but I was seeing a lot of similarities with the new gen Camaro and his rendering. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think he said that's what he was getting some of his ideas from.
I love how this one turned out to be ,both the re-design and the video as well. I'm glad you listened to the feedback on the previous video. I'm once again hooked and I hope you'll stick to this editing style. :) Have a great day!
Hey ! I really appreciate the fact that you took our feedback into consideration. This redesign was much more interesting than some of the previous ones which we really felt like they were incomplete or at least, not much effort has been put into them. Keep up the good work ! We'll be supporting you till you end up as famous as Pininfarina lol Cheers bro !
For probably the first time I think you made it worse. As I've been asking you to redesign the second gen camaro I now feel like I'm no longer hoping you'll take on the task since I might just get disappointed. The 1970-73 is already the pinnacle of the second generation design wise. So never mind. ;) No offence, I love all your work except this one. You can't please us all xD Keep up the good work, cheers from Sweden!
Listening to criticism is something I will always admire, thank you for having an open ear on people's opinions on your redesigns. I know sometimes it stings a bit to see so many angry comments but just know that some of us are happy to see improvements in your videos! 😁
@thesketchmonkey there is only one problem. This is no older than a 1985, as that was when they made the front signals flush to the bumper. Also, those wheels were an upgrade from the same year if I am not mistaken.
These vids are awesome, really love the work and the thought into the Re-designs... I design cars myself in my spare time but nowhere near any good to do something like this as I can only draw them, and even the drawings aren't great haha, but they're all branded 'Dorian' based on the Kit Car Company my grandad used to own back in the 80s, they made the Dorian SS, a replica of a Classic Morgan +8... Maybe you could try and do a modern version of the Morgan some time? Also, what software do you use??
I love how you listened to us criticize your re-designs and now doing something related to an '82 Camaro but still making it look completely new... Keep up the good work, we love you man...
Ya I stand with the group on this one. Looks better the way it was before. Maybe a 2013 grill would make more sense. Just looks like a Monte Carlo now.
The way you think about car design is really inspiring and your designs really connect with my personal preferences in cars. Could you do a re-design of the latest Camaro? I think it lost its muscle car identity and wants to be more like an European car.
of the two, i think i like the original better. your's is a fine redesign, but it looks too much like a dodge challenger on the front end for my taste.
Wrong ground effects. It is 1985-1990, the black headlight bucket paint started in 85 or 86 iirc. The 91/92 model had the "Aero" GFX, which had the holes towards the back of the lip spoiler and also on the back of the rocker extensions.
I think the lights and new upper grill are cool, but don't really agree with the bottom half of the front bumper. Anyway, neat to see the thought process behind it!
Chevrolet needs to hire this man to design the next Camaro! I would buy what you designed if it were real. You modernized a third generation Camaro without ruining it to the point of unrecognition.
one of the greatest designs ever, the 80s Camaro has aged extremely well, and looks every bit as awesome as it did back then. like I said, it is one of the best designs and certainly one of the best looking sport power coupes. and an American 80s icon.
Please Chevrolet build this car! Sketch Monkey did an amazing redesign! Chevy needs to build this! I love the the front so much, the wheels and the red color looks perfect. 😍😁✌
Love this redesign, wish it was possible IRL. Could you do a Z31 300zx? Very similar design philosophy as the 80's muscle, but with a Japanese twist (especially the 87-89 model years.) Please keep the iconic recessed headlights as well!
To be completely honest your redesigns of currently manufactured cars are a bit hit and miss with me, however, that being said your redesigns of older cars who’s designs are frozen in their time are brilliant (as well as your modern to retro redesigns). You have an infinite amount of talent and we all hope you keep these videos coming.
IROC prolly my favorite body style and trim of the 80s Camaro, miss my old 87 IROC. that looks pretty cool, i feel it needs some heat extractors on the hood though. i wouldnt mind having an 87 modded like that ☮
3rd Generation Camaro is timeless. A friend had a Black 1991 IROC. Bought itcwhen it was a year old. Grey cloth seats and T Tops. Still regrets selling it.
Some feedback, you can't remove the front peak on the grill like that, it has to stay. The revision looks like a monte carlo. The lights should also be thicker. Hood should have modern looking louvers.
I like the 1982 design better look sleeker and nicer looking and looks like a muscle car the car you design looks like a mouse might drive it besides your redesign looks more like a Mopar
Just an fyi Sketch Monkey, this image of this specific camaro on your screen is an IROC-Z minus the graphic on the side. Just thought you should know. Oh the reason I know this mine is identical to that one :)
Pre video: I'm crossing my fingers for this one. I love the look of 3rd gen Camaros so don't make them look bad. 7:00 pretty rough start... Yuck Looks more like someone slapped a futuristic version of the 86 Monte Carlo SS on the front. This design might be better fit for a G-body
didnt work out too well but thanks for trying.i would recommend another go,try widening the fenders, modernize the lights without completely altering the look. go with subtle changes rather than a complete front end redesign,it doesn't really look like anything and lost its identity along the way.very nice work though, don't be discouraged just try again.this is meant to be constructive criticism and not an insult at all.
I really like how you listened to your viewers when you got some suggestions on how to make things more interesting. Longer video, more detail, more explaining and also a more "advanced" redesign! Love your work!
That's why I'm jumping right into redesigning part. It's kinda boring, but viewers like it I guess.
I did not personally like this redesign but as always, enjoyed seeing it and hearing your reasoning for the changes you made.
I like 99% of the redesigns he does. Just not this one. I guess it's because I have such a love for these 3rd gens I had high expectations. It might have turned out better if he didn't try to base it off of the new Camaro and just updated it.
Yeah, I agree. I think in basing it off the new Camaro, it just lost to much of its personality in this redesign.
I love your work!....... but this looks more like a redesign for a Buick Grand National/Regal.
I was thinking that this redesign would be more suitable for the 86 monte carlo ss.
My thoughts as well
Yup same
definitely Monte Carlo
I came here to say this.
I'm a big fan of yours, but I really didn't care for this one. Kinda looks like a Monte Carlo now.😔
Never try and change to style of a great car
I think it looks like is has a bad underbite.
that also counts as a hate
LOL, I was just getting ready to say, Monte Carlo. Now I love the early Monte Carlos and maybe Sketch Monkey should modernize an early Monte Carlo.
This re-design reminds me of the mid 80s Monte Carlo Super Sport.
Every time an IROC gets redesigned, an angel gets his mullet.
Perfect!
What's iroc
@weasle min International Race of Champions
Yet another mullet reference, here we go again for the umpteen time...
Remake the 2019 charger, but like the old one (Two doors muscle)
Not your best work, but a cool take! Still prefer the original in this case
Kinda made it look like an 87 Monte Carlo SS
Imagine if car manufacturers actually brought back their old designs but with modern touches like this... Cars would truly stand out 😍
Maybe it's just me but I was seeing a lot of similarities with the new gen Camaro and his rendering. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think he said that's what he was getting some of his ideas from.
Beautiful redesign.
Why redesign it at all ...this 80's generation was gorgeous. I think the original looks better.
Agreed
Yes! Been posting for this to be done since I first subscribed. Thanks for listening to your viewers!
Putting LEDs and a new bumper on an old design doesn’t make it modern, it just makes it look like a body kit on an old Camaro
You made an SS Monte Carlo aftermarket body kit fit on the front end of a Camaro.
recently been trying photoshop and sketching, and you have definitely helped me improve, thanks, and keep up the amazing designs
I love how this one turned out to be ,both the re-design and the video as well. I'm glad you listened to the feedback on the previous video. I'm once again hooked and I hope you'll stick to this editing style. :) Have a great day!
Reimagined first-gen RX-7? Please?
I’d love to see a 2019’s version of that wedge shape from the late 70’s.
Hey !
I really appreciate the fact that you took our feedback into consideration. Can you modernize the Toyota 2000GT?
Unpopular opinion: the 82 Camaro is the best looking Camaro
Listening to criticism is something I will always admire, thank you for having an open ear on people's opinions on your redesigns. I know sometimes it stings a bit to see so many angry comments but just know that some of us are happy to see improvements in your videos! 😁
The main feature of the old one was the solid front part dividing the two light spaces. The redesign losi it and seems more like a Challenger
Please do a reimagined Lightning McQueen
I'll thank you for it
PLEEEEEEEEEEASE
why? whats the point of redesigning a cartoon car?
@thesketchmonkey there is only one problem. This is no older than a 1985, as that was when they made the front signals flush to the bumper. Also, those wheels were an upgrade from the same year if I am not mistaken.

buick rendezvous!
really enjoyed this video, it really felt like a proper redesign
You messed up when you added the Mopar hemi hood lines on a Chevy
I love how you listened to us criticize your re-designs and now doing something related to an '82 Camaro but still making it look completely new...
Keep up the good work, we love you man...
The Challenger called, it wants its design back. I like the original design better.
Looks nothing like a challenger. Shoo shoo whinebag.
Herbie Husker If he modernized the Challenger it’d be exactly what it is now, they used the same process as him ^^
Every muscle car has the same proportion and characteristic but that clearly isn’t taking notes from a challenger
Awesome, how you notice the critics of the community, this didnt do much youtubers, and awesome work, thank you for the quality content
Ya I stand with the group on this one. Looks better the way it was before. Maybe a 2013 grill would make more sense. Just looks like a Monte Carlo now.
Please do a 1970 Camaro!
I've been waiting for one of these for so long I have an 87 z28 and I love it to death thank you for making this video
A vertical crease in the middle of the lower bumper along with some fog lights would be perfect. Nice job though.
I really like the mixture between 80s and futuristic
The way you think about car design is really inspiring and your designs really connect with my personal preferences in cars.
Could you do a re-design of the latest Camaro? I think it lost its muscle car identity and wants to be more like an European car.
you should be a body kit designer, think it would be a good business venture
i can safely say this would not sell to anyone who owns a third gen
@@trillrifaxegrindor4411 a bit late bud.
Citroen Xsara Picasso, please?
of the two, i think i like the original better. your's is a fine redesign, but it looks too much like a dodge challenger on the front end for my taste.
At least it looks better than the 2019
Plymouth Superbird
Finally a design that feels finished, you are back on track sir. looks cool!
Day #11: I still hope you got me a redesigned version of my favourite car of all times, the 1948 Cadillac Series 62 Sedan, as if it was made today
Dis is a 1992, you can tell by the headlight black paint
Wrong ground effects. It is 1985-1990, the black headlight bucket paint started in 85 or 86 iirc. The 91/92 model had the "Aero" GFX, which had the holes towards the back of the lip spoiler and also on the back of the rocker extensions.
I think the lights and new upper grill are cool, but don't really agree with the bottom half of the front bumper. Anyway, neat to see the thought process behind it!
I really liked your bumper design at 9:22. It made it look muscular and sexy. But I see you changed it because you obviously wanted a cleaner look.
*SketchMonkey breathes*
Car automatically looks better 😍
Can you re design Tesla if it was made in the 1980?
please be quiet right now
Miguel Dias stop spamming
Chevrolet needs to hire this man to design the next Camaro! I would buy what you designed if it were real. You modernized a third generation Camaro without ruining it to the point of unrecognition.
Original still looks much better than your reboot.
How about a Datsun 240z redesign?
He has already done a redesign on the 240z
one of the greatest designs ever, the 80s Camaro has aged extremely well, and looks every bit as awesome as it did back then. like I said, it is one of the best designs and certainly one of the best looking sport power coupes. and an American 80s icon.
bro this is the best one you have done, i love it!
Glad to see the 3rd gen Camaro get some love. My first car was one of these and I've owned several 4th gens as well. They hold a special place for me.
Looks like you slapped a 2018 Silverado front end on it!!
Please Chevrolet build this car! Sketch Monkey did an amazing redesign! Chevy needs to build this! I love the the front so much, the wheels and the red color looks perfect. 😍😁✌
I really the new grill and the Y shape in the bottom part of the bumper ! Reallly nice job 🔥🔥🔥🔥
The 80s camaro had an awesome design. The redesign of it looks awesome better than the one today.
The audio sounds kinda messed up starting with you redesigning the car and ending about 2-3 minutes later. Besides that great video! (As always ;P)
Love this redesign, wish it was possible IRL. Could you do a Z31 300zx? Very similar design philosophy as the 80's muscle, but with a Japanese twist (especially the 87-89 model years.) Please keep the iconic recessed headlights as well!
I love it. Now please do the 2002 Camaro, which is my all-time fave.
To be completely honest your redesigns of currently manufactured cars are a bit hit and miss with me, however, that being said your redesigns of older cars who’s designs are frozen in their time are brilliant (as well as your modern to retro redesigns). One of your greatest vids yet
IROC prolly my favorite body style and trim of the 80s Camaro, miss my old 87 IROC. that looks pretty cool, i feel it needs some heat extractors on the hood though. i wouldnt mind having an 87 modded like that ☮
I think that is one of your best redesigns!
Just an opinon the roof line needs to be adjusted because it looks like a. Frontend Buick conversion or a thinner challenger front end
I think the lines on your front bumper are off. The light line on the bottom as well as the reflection of the point from pass to driver side.
Thank you for redesigning my suggestion
Huge fan of the 70-72 Chevelle, would love to see you take on one of the most popular muscle cars of that era.
Your work is always great. Would love to see your take on a Fiat 131 Abarth.
That looks sick but the aerodynamics?
He's a designer, not an engineer.
Oh my god this is brutal too... You can't just add a new front end to a 40 year old car you need to do the whole car...
3rd Generation Camaro is timeless. A friend had a Black 1991 IROC. Bought itcwhen it was a year old. Grey cloth seats and T Tops. Still regrets selling it.
Digging that look I have a 3rd gen. with some offset wheels only thing would be missing is that front great work !
great work
please do a redesign on the aston martin db9
Interesting re-design. I would've done a complete overhaul, but I think overall the modifications work.
u know, now it looks a bit similar to buick regal gnx from the front
First problem, this is not a 1982 Camaro. This is a 1985-1987 IROC. Different facias and lower cladding/ground effects
What a bad ass re design..I would buy this all day long
Some feedback, you can't remove the front peak on the grill like that, it has to stay. The revision looks like a monte carlo. The lights should also be thicker. Hood should have modern looking louvers.
I’d totally buy this version of the Camaro. :)
You could also try doing the opposite, redesigning modern cars to make them look like cars of various decades of the 20th century
I drive a 1999 Lexus GS400. I'd be interested to see what you would do to modernize that car.
What is programs name that you are using
YO this looks badass i love this redesign
Very nice. Now let’s see a 80’s Monte Carlo.
i would put better grill and light wise or spoilers redesign them stikers maybe
It basically looks like an older stock car looks really good
Love the redesign. I think I might have included the fog lights for that added arrrgggrrrr.
Could you do a redesign of the firebird for that year? I feel like that would look cool redesigned
*Redesign the 1965 Trident peel into a sports car.* 🤣
I like the 1982 design better look sleeker and nicer looking and looks like a muscle car the car you design looks like a mouse might drive it besides your redesign looks more like a Mopar
YES! my dream car redesigned!
Yuck
Looks more like someone slapped a futuristic version of the 86 Monte Carlo SS on the front. This design might be better fit for a G-body

go with subtle changes rather than a complete front end redesign,it doesn't really look like anything and lost its identity along the way.very nice work though,

Can you link the music that you use? It’s nice.
