- Bahia Honda is a dream come true in the Florida Keys! White sand beaches and clear aqua waters, plus a cool historic railroad bridge with a hike to the top! Bahia Honda State Park has been on our bucket list for a while as it's considered one of the best beaches in the Florida Keys. It's our first time driving our van through the Florida Keys and our parking spot at Bahia Honda doesn’t disappoint! Located just an hour north of beautiful Key West, Bahia Honda is hard to miss from the Seven Mile Bridge. The beach view from the bridge is stunning! We hope you enjoy this episode!

Hi! Oh darn, we wish we would have met you under better circumstances! We were a bit stressed at the vet because our kitty Beamer hasn't been feeling well for a few days. It's been tough for all of us, but he received good care and hopefully will be on the mend very soon! ❤️❤️❤️

Bonjour Anne & Eric! Great to hear from you! Oh how we wish we would have snagged a camping spot there, but we ended up staying at Curry Hammock just 30 minutes north of Bahia Honda, and then took day trips. However we'll try to get in to the campground soon, and hopefully on a calm day so we can do some snorkeling and paddle around. That will be awesome! 😄 Wishing you both all the best in your adventures for this year! Looking forward to more great content. We're hoping to get to Quebec this year, so fingers crossed! ❤️

That famous bridge explosion scene from “True Lies” that was filmed at Bahia Honda.
It was the old Seven Mile bridge that was blown up and not the Bahia Honda bridge.

Haha! When we're in The Keys near the Seven Mile Bridge we sometimes think of that scene in True Lies. That was such a crazy scene! 😮
I hope I get there someday. You've given me an appetite for it. I moved to Florida in 2015, and have been to the keys a half dozen times, but not to this one yet.
It's definitely not easy to get a camping spot at Bahia Honda but it's a great place for a day trip! If you love The Keys you definitely love this one! 😊

Really fun video. I live on the nature coast of Florida & I love the area. I travel to as many places as I can in the state & there are so many different places to see & go to. Not just on the Gulf or the Atlantic, although they are great!

One of my fav places in all of Florida👌🏻 Very peaceful and relaxing. The water can vary drastically. Depending on the time of year and the winds. On a flat calm day, it's paradise though 👍🏻
Totally agree Mark! Bahia Honda feels like a world in its own. When you're relaxing on the beach it's really something seeing so many people drive right by on the highway on the way to Key West. We definitely get it though since we love Key West too. Thanks for watching! 😊

Sorry I have been quiet for the last few vids I had some family issues my dad had major surgery a few weeks ago but he pulled through and is doing well 👍 plus my wife has cancer so I have a lot of trips to hospitals and doctors going on at the moment ....

*I've waved at Fred several times. I've passed by Bahia Honda thinking "I'm going to stop there next time". Best snorkeling I've done is at Key Largo. Several good locations there. Nice tour of the park area and the derelict bridge. 👍*
Haha! Fred has to be one of the of the most popular trees in Florida. 😂 We'll definitely have to do some snorkeling in Key Largo. Others have mentioned Marathon is good too for snorkeling. We're happy you loved the video and thanks for watching! 😊

Such a gorgeous area! My in-laws live in Marathon (Grassy Key), and the locals (especially Big Pine) pronounce it "Bay-uh" Honda ... so I've been calling it that since the late-90s. Whoops! 🤭 I really look forward to visiting that restaurant next time I'm down south - food looked AMAZING!
The Florida Keys are all so beautiful! We've heard it pronounced a few ways so that's interesting about that pronunciation. It'd be amazing to live around there. So many cool places to explore. Thanks for sharing! 😊

Yes! You can definitely tent camp at Bahia Honda. The campground is called Bayside, sites 73-80 but you have to have a low clearance vehicle (under 6 feet 8 inches) to pass under the bridge. It's probably a bit hard to get a spot but they pop up. You guys would love it! We hope you're doing well! 😊

Bahia Honda State Park seems quieter than most of the places you have visited in Florida - is that how you felt about it?
Haha! I think they deliver those fresh tropical vibes every day! 😂 It does seem like Bahia Honda is quieter than a lot of other places. We were talking about that when we were there and we think it's because Key West is just a little farther so people probably don't want to stop there when they can just get to Key West. Good observation Freeman! We hope you're doing well!

If you use the state pass multiple times in a year you will save more than the initial $60.00.

@@PSAdventures yeah I’ve been all over the keys before 4x , this time around we will be in Miami area, then , Clearwater area, than thanks to you gonna drive up to grayton beach , then Orlando area for the springs , than back home ;(
