The 2018 GRENKE Chess Classic is a 10-player round-robin held in Germany from 31 March to 9 April. The first 3 rounds are in Karlsruhe alongside the GRENKE Chess Open, then after a rest day the last 6 rounds are in the Kulturhaus LA8 in Baden-Baden. The field features World Champion Magnus Carlsen and fellow Top 10 players Fabiano Caruana, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Vishy Anand and Levon Aronian, as well as women's no. 1 Hou Yifan.
The time control is 100 minutes for 40 moves, then 50 minutes for 20 moves and then 15 minutes to the end of the game, with a 30-second increment from move 1. If players are tied for first place a rapid play-off will take place. Official website: www.grenkechessclassic.com

I know. and I loved it. He played a very strange sideline that Karjakin made good for white by playing Qd8.
Nc3 is a trivial sideline and generally good for black (not winning, but definitely an advantage.)

    • @bulldog4574

37...Rbb7! is a move I would have never found in a thousand years. It makes me feel better about myself though that I really liked 37...Ke6 which as you said the engine also doesn't think is terrible, so at least I have that going for me which is nice.

At 11:20,why not Rc2+? We can have black playing king away, followed by Rxd3

Was Mr. Carlsen short on time? Since, King to B2 allows either the pawn to promote to a queen or capturing the White rook. #Question.

#question to both players: Do you consider the development of new AI like AlphaZero the end of chess or the new era of chess? It is surprising and a bit frightening that it was possible to create something even stronger than unbeatable stockfish.
