Sal, in your video with Ryan you were focusing on the Spectralock 1 product. You specifically asserted twice (at 1:15 and about 1:50 in the video) that the product can be used "submerged", and "like in a pool". Ryan nodded or responded in agreement to both inquiries, which leaves the user community with the affirmative, that it can be used in swimming pools. Is this still the prevailing recommendation by Laticrete? I need to know, yes or no. I am a subscriber, and do heed your advice on several things.
I f***ing LOVE this product so far! Here in Colorado I finally got my hands on it and it will be one of my main go to grouts from now on. I've installed about 5 gallons worth so far. Rated for steam showers as well. Great product!
I have been wondering the same thing, the current size is fine for large jobs but smaller jobs require smaller amounts especially with a 6 month shelf life opened. :)
We have discussed this internally - the possibility of a quart size... We JUST launched this product in February, so we are working on ensuring we have enough of the current size and then we'll look into future sizes. We appreciate all the feedback!
I just used this for a shower pebble floor this last weekend. I purchased it after seeing Sals video and how easy the install was. Do you recommend allowing it to cure before applying additional to any low or missed spots? Or can it be applied right over top?
Yes - As stated in the product data sheet, this product will go from 1/16" grout joint all the way to 3/8". Here is the data sheet for reference: cdn.laticrete.com/~/media/product-documents/product-data-sheets/ds-36589
HELLO, just to verify, I am redoing my shower with pebble stone floor, with some grout lines over 1/2" in some areas. So this product will be fine to use in that application? Also does it need to be sealed? Thank you in advance
SPECTRALOCK 1 does not need to be sealed and can be used in grout joints from, 1/16" to 3/8" (2mm - 9mm). Please review our Product Datasheet for more info cdn.laticrete.com/~/media/product-documents/product-data-sheets/ds-36589
Hello! Thank you for watching our video! We appreciate this feedback and we've shared it with the team. We're always looking to expand our distribution in Canada, so if you need help finding product, please reach out at socialmedia@laticrete.com.
For any re-grouting application is always best to remove the existing grout at least half the depth of the tile and reapply. Once that is done you can certainly use SPECTRALOCK® 1 to re-grout.
The longer the better but typically 3 days at 70f. Note that joint depth and width can play a factor on curing times. If at all possible we always recommend at least 4 days before exposing it to water.
@@laticrete thank you for this important info. I just applied it to my shower floor last week and found a pdf online from your company that says to wait 10 days when applied to direct/submerged water applications.

Used it today for the first time. Easiest grout to clean up for sure and stays in the joint better. But the color in the bucket is way way off. Hope it cures to the correct color.
Well that’s no good since light pewter is a silver color and it’s a almond white in the bucket. Well it’s been two days and about 4/4 of the floor have cured to the pewter color. The slab is a little cold
I finally chased it down.i watched Sal and had to find it. My normal guy put me on hold for a month then I got creative and traveled a state over...my guys better do the homework before working with it.this ain't no ugly duckling.
How about doing a video with this grout on a vertical surface, like a shower wall or backsplash? Everybody always shows a horizontal install which is way easier to clean than vertical tiles, holding a microfiber towel on a vertical surface & keeping it flat for the second wash is way more difficult than doing it on a flat surface
This is a great product, i did a video with Ryan, about a month ago. Easy to use, easy to clean.
It was a great video that you did! We appreciate you trying it out. Thanks for the comment!

Thanks for the feedback Branden! We appreciate you trusting in our products.
Wife and I just bought one container currently in the middle of two bathroom remodels and can't wait to have it done!
Best of luck on the project! Let us know how it turns out!
Used my first bucket and agree that it is a game changer. Wondering if there are any plans to release it in small batches...?

@@petertwining5729 I had a job about 100 sq. ft. and only used a half bucket.

See this is 3 years ago. Really hoped you had a smaller size for my kitchen backsplash- less than 25 sf.
Unfortunately, this is the only size for SPECTRALOCK 1. We do have the SPECTRALOCK Pro Premium epoxy grout in smaller units!
Can I use this product on mosaic marble sheets and 6”x12” marble on my shower ?
Yes, it is rated for natural stone.
LATICRETE International, Inc. thanks!!
Can spectralock 1 be applied for the tiled shower base?
Hello! Yes, SPECTRALOCK 1 can be used in shower applications, floors and walls.
Hi I hav a tumble marble in my shower and some areas the grout cracked. Can I use your product on top of existing grout or I have to remove old grout?
For any re-grouting application is always best to remove the existing grout at least half the depth of the tile and reapply. Once that is done you can certainly use SPECTRALOCK® 1 to re-grout.

Can this be used with porcelain floor tile? I looked at the data sheet but it says for use with ceramic, stone and glass.
Yes, this can be used with porcelain tile.
Is this safe to use on glass mosaic?
It is a sanded grout, so we do recommend doing a test area first.
Does spectrolock1 come in sanded and unsanded versions
No, sorry it does not.

Sorry, this product is currently only available in North America.

The color typically cures lighter than what you see in the bucket.
