    Do a demo with grouting a vertical wall, it takes more work on those & trying to keep the microfiber towel flat on a vertical surface is a lot more difficult also some demos show using a dry microfiber after scrubbing with the doodkebug some show it using a damp microfiber, so which is the best way? Doing it dry on a large project say 400sqft your going to need 25 towels to be able to have clean ones to keep wiping up any excess after scrubbing

      Thank you for the feedback. We're passing it along to our team for possible future video demos.
      We normally use the microfiber towel after our second wash with the doodlebug/nylon scrub pad. We wait for a few minutes to let the surface dry and then just wipe off residue with the towel.

      Every video I've seen is doing a horizontal application. I concur that vertical is a totally different ball game and as a DIY guy I don't have a great technique for managing all the product that just falls off the wall. I actually took to just filling the grout lines with my hands and fingers and then came over it with the float. 90% of the product falls off the wall otherwise.

    I don't have a doodlebug. Can I clean with sponge, 2 passes and then proceed to micro-fiber towel? Also, how much time after packing the grout to do the first cleaning and how much time to wait until the second cleaning?

    • @laticrete
      @laticrete  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the questions. If you don't have a doodlebug, a sponge will be fine. The doodlebug tends to make the clean up easier, but a sponge and some attention to detail will work.
      You can do a second cleaning as soon as you want after the first cleaning if needed.
      The cleaning instructions are on page 4 and 5 of the datasheet. See the link here: cdn.laticrete.com/~/media/product-documents/product-data-sheets/ds-36589.ashx

      @laticrete  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, this grout has a creamy consistency and is easy to spread.

    if I am regrouting old grout. how much of the old grout would I have to remove? all of the old cement based grout or the general industry standard or 2/3 the depth of the joint prior to using spectralock 1

    • @laticrete
      @laticrete  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello! Thanks for watching! You should dig out at least 1/2 of the depth of the joint prior to re-grouting. Hope this helps!

      Hi Geoffrey! Thanks for reaching out. This video was shot a little bit ago, but we believe it's #60 "Dusty Grey" - you can find more color options here: laticrete.com/en/support-and-downloads/marketing-support/color-selector Hope this helps!

      Please show us a comparison between the Dusty grey cured grout vs the Dusty grey color samples. In my experience they aren’t even close.
      Makes it impossible to select the exact color I want.

    Why do you use only a white colored doodle bug?

    • @laticrete
      @laticrete  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The biggest reason is that the other color of doodlebug pads are dyed, red, blue, green, all for different course sizes. The white pads are the smoothest and will not bleed as they are not colored. The colored pads can bleed the color into the grout especially the green kitchen type pads.

    i was sold on using it thru Sal’s vid. did my shower as he did but i used porcelain...i was earlier in the know when all the distributor had was white in color and he was 25 miles away.btw his showroom made me buy some kitchen porcelain.bathroom went well and it's kitchen time now.i picked a travertine with wholes in them like the moon for a 3x6 subway tile pattern. this is too eexxpensive to put in a grout bag so im usinng a mini cake decorator bag at best and at works an art tray and tools from the art store.. where is the vid on porous tile

    • @laticrete
      @laticrete  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We don't have a demo video currently using porous tile, however this link to our coverage calculator may be helpful for you when determining how much grout you'll need:
      www.laticrete.com/coverage
      Note: the tile size, joint depth and width will determine how much grout you will consume.

    Too bad I got some batches that were not matching the color chart. Sterling silver labeled is what I bought, taupe is what I got. What is the best way to grind this out?

    The only problem I have with Spectralock 1 is it cures much lighter than the color samples and matching caulks.

    • @laticrete
      @laticrete  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey Aaron, thank you for the feedback. Our grout samples are made to be as consistent as possible to the actual product however it's always possible there may be a slight shade difference when comparing either a plastic sample, what's represented on a color chart or different types of materials. Actual shade and texture are affected by many factors to include jobsite conditions, lighting, installation techniques, and the type of tile or stone being installed. It's always recommended to verify actual appearance and compatibility with a test area before installing.
